Thank you for being so thorough with your flipthroughs and explanations of curriculums. It is VERY helpful to be able to see exactly what each curriculum has to offer. THANK YOU!!
I love abeka’s kindergarten! Going through it for the second time this year, last year with our oldest, this year with our daughter. I really like how organized it is. Great flip through!
Thank you so much. I decided to homeschool my prek and kinder half way thru their school year. I really want to do Abeka but was not sure how it worked and if I had to buy All of the lesson plans. Thank you this was of great help.
Great flip through! It looks like an awesome kindergarten curriculum! Kindergarten starts at age 4 where I live. So young!! Abeka is a great program! I went to a Christian school when I was growing up and that’s what we used for our curriculum! That and ACE.
These look so fun! I will have to look into this for my son for next year! I would love to see your thoughts on that teachers guide and if you would recommend adding that in. Thanks for the flip through of this!
Thanks! I’m still trying to get a feel for the teachers guide since this is the first time I’ve ever used it but I definitely will make a video about it later on probably towards the end of the year
I really want to use Abeka but i live in Canada and i think their website says no shipping outside the USA for some kits. And now I'm lost on what to get for my kindergarten child. Thank you for the flip through, its really helpful
I’m right there with you!! I started TGTB language arts with my daughter last week, and now seeing the Abeka LA flip through I am having major buyers remorse with TGTB😕 Abeka just seems so much more child-friendly!! More interesting for little minds.
@@hollybeth3525 aww no! Sorry you’re having buyers remorse 😕 they’re both great programs! But I totally know how you feel!! I think every homeschool mom has been in your shoes at one point or another!
Hi! Lauren, my name is Naomi. I have a question regarding parent kit. Did you buy the complete parent kit or just the essential for your 1st and 2nd grade?
Great review! How did you teach reading and go through the handbook and the letters and sounds without the teacher manual? Is the handbook pretty simple to follow with letters and sounds?
It’s totally up to you! We’ve never used the videos for any subject, we’ve always done parent led. But many people do choose videos! No sure if that helps, but I can’t tell you what will work best for your family ❤️
I just found you when googling Abeka Curriculum. This is great! Do kids need to know their letters before starting this Phonics Curriculum? My daughter is 5 and learning letters and would love to give this a try.
I would say so. It does spend a couple weeks reviewing letters and their sounds, but then moves into blending letters. Having a good grasp of the letters and their sounds will be really beneficial when starting this curriculum
Hi I really need your opinion. My child has never read before but he knows basic sounds and alphabet. Should I start him on the k4 or just go ahead and start on k5. He just turned 6. Public school is slow here…I know Abeka is repetitive…So just trying to figure out if I just go ahead and start him on k5. So I don’t waste anytime on this whole year since he’s already 6. Thanks! He’s super smart and learns very fast in anything, but like I said, public school here is slow, please lmk thanks!!!!
I have two 5 year olds. My daughter has been in daycare/school since she was 6months old and they have always used Abeka for years with her. She will be able to pick right up with this book. We are very familiar with Abeka. My boyfriends son went to a k4 program a little bit last year but we need to learn letters and sounds before we jump into reading. I will add that he is eager to learn and pays very good attention and retains information much more quickly than my daughter. Do you have any advice?
Hello! I’m in need of some advise. I did the accredited version of abeka for my kindergartener. I’m trying to decided what to do for 1st grade. She had a hard time with reading and would get a bit stressed out when we would have to call in. She needs to learn the sounds and reading in general. Would you think unaccredited would be a better option? Are there any videos involved? I’m so conflicted. They didn’t really enjoy sitting down and watching the videos. My 3rd grader wasn’t so bad but my 6 year old was just not digging it. Please advise! Thanks in advance.
I’ve never done accredited or the videos. We’ve always done parent led and non accredited. You can go at your own pace and pick and choose which you want. I’m my opinion (for what’s it’s worth lol), there is no comparison between the two. We love doing non accredited and would never consider doing accredited (many people do and like it, it’s just not for us).

My pleasure ☺️😊

Same here! I find it to be very thoughtful in the way it’s laid out and how it goes step by step! Thanks for watching Kimberly ☺️

Wow really awesome children's book 📖 our kids will definitely love this 👍 they love shapes & colours 🙏👌👏

I did Abeka too ☺️ 4 is so young 🥺
Thank you very much for your video! Truly helpful. Many blessings to all!
Great flip thru! Just grabbed the K5 Letters and Sounds thanks to this:)
That makes me so happy to hear! 🥳

@@thepracticalhomeschoolercurious what you thought about the teachers guide and if it was needed?
@@amber_hayes I personally didn’t love it or find it as user friendly as the other LA teacher guides
@@thepracticalhomeschooler Thank you for your honest opinion!

Not sure about the kits or the shipping but I’d assume they’d ship individual items to Canada. I never buy the kits anyway.
I love this! We decided to use TGTB LA for kindergarten but I'm so questioning that decision after seeing the phonics workbook.
That’s a tough call!!

Yes we just did a page a day. When she got to the charts, I reviewed the chart daily and then she worked on a special sound page for that day.
@@thepracticalhomeschooler a page a day of the handbook?
@@karenu.7500 yes! I made a video on how I did it if you want to see ☺️

Really enjoyed this flip through! You make me want to try abeka!
Lol I totally get that! It’s how I feel too when I look at other curriculum videos 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😬
Thank you so much.
And also i heard Abeka goes with the seasons on their workbooks, in preschool is that the same with the rest of the grades? Thanks!!!!
Hey Lauren thank you for the flip through Im just a little confused with the difference of the child kit with the parent kit any help thankyou!
The child kit is the workbooks the child uses. The parent kit is the answer keys for the workbook and teacher help like review charts, etc.
This is great! Did you use Abeka K4 or anything for pre-k with any of your girls?
Not really. I used more of the good and the beautiful for pre school
Ok, thank you!

Hi are the pages easy to pull out? Are they perforated?
This is so helpful, thank you
So glad!!
so with tgatb math and the numbers skills, you do the numbers skills one page once a week? or how did you do that?
One page a day 😊
What do you think about Abeka's K4 curriculum? I'm researching as my son is 3, but I want to buy everything in the next few months.
I didn’t do Abeka K4 program…just the ABC123 k4 book as a supplement. We did the good and the beautiful pre-k and then went into Abeka for k5
Thanks for sharing.. new subbie❤
How do you think TGATB compares to abeka’s both math and LA? Do you think one is more advance than the other?
I’ve made several videos comparing the two ☺️
Hi! Can someone pls help me❓❔
What are the instructions for the Abeka Think and Learn page 37❓❔❓
Thank you! 😊
Some of the pages require the manual but MOST you can do on your own. That one might need the manual
New subscriber! I homeschool too!
So happy you’re here!!
Nice video beautiful ✔️👍
Thank you!
I watch another UA-camr and she has skin counting songs 12:38
