- From as far back as Laird Hamilton can remember, he was in the ocean. Being a 'Waterman' is so much more than any individual activity in the water. It's a way of life.

That's a beautiful way of life and purpose. Very well said by Laird.
He definitely is an inspiring person.
Unexpected, but very cool. I recently watched the Laird Hamilton biopic and was blown away again by this guy. From growing up on the water to participating with the ocean's biggest waves, the guy seems to exist with the water. Like if he hadn't existed, the ocean would have needed to create him. But I really never expected to see him interviewed by you--not a complaint, just a surprise.
This dude is one of the most intense guys I have ever seen. And could he look anymore proto-typical surfer? Amazing guy.
Nothing makes me feel more calm and at home than being in water.
It’s weird I looked away from my phone for a second and as soon as I heard his voice I immediately thought “Will Forte could definitely do an impression of this guy”
Hollywood is dead...
I love the inclusion of non-actors in the series. :D
Good interview. Thank you.
He was Kevin Costner's stunt double in WATERWORLD
One of my favorite 80's movies, North Shore.
Laird looks great! Living a good, balanced life.
Given his place in surfing history, this is no surprise. It's kind of like saying that an Iditarod champion likes having dogs, you know?
Holy shit, Laird fucking Hamilton. Nice!
Laird is the true definition of “alpha male”. He’s everything terms of an accomplished extreme sports legend.
That term is so lame
I only know him from the Descendants.
Who is this?

I disagree that laird Hamilton is the most influential surfer. He’s a one of a kind. There isn’t a style that one could copy or emulate. He’s a pioneer and his own adventurer.
Laird. He looks like a silver spoon. His name screams silver spoon. But he made his own money.
He's friggin' Aquaman. I remember a few years ago when the Hamiltons took a small boat out to rescue people from floodwaters.
Boring
