Hello Maximum weight of newborn is 4 kg. So Loading dose 12 mg/kg- trick =wt x6 as concentration of fluconazole is 2 mg/ml So 4x6=24 ml maximum Then maintenance 6 mg/kg daily od So trick wt X 3 (so for 4 kg 4X 3 = 12 ml daily)

Hi everyone i gave birth to my daughter 2 months ago at 35 weeks of pregnancy but baby groth stoped at 29 weeks and also i had preeclampsia, my baby didnt move in the womb for one day...has been 2 month in nicu facing a lot of difficulties becouse of sepsis blood infection klebsiella breathing problems,anemic,brain bleeding at stage 2 feeding intolerance first and not being able to breastfeed or bring the breasr milk becouse of covid 19,no visits at all...if someone has been throught the same or similar thing please tell me if the baby had any problems later pleasee
Hello, For her, all screening tests as for ROP, for hearing BERA and OAE , for brain -MRI should be done for any complications. Physical and neurological assessment should be done regularly after discharge.

1. Is 14 days course of meropenem to counter E Coli infection which has led to sepsis good enough ? 2. Is it to be provided only in NICU for entire 14 days even after flushing of bacteria ? 3. Long term complications of NICU in babies which were treated for sepsis ?
1. Yes 14 days enough Except In meningitis -21 days and in septic arthritis-6 weeks duration of antibiotics 3. Complications of NS are chronic lung disease, neurodevelopmental outcome will be affected eg. Hearing , vision impairment, CP, MR.
