The ATO is currently investigating plenty of people who purchased cars (in particular Landcruisers and other 4WD's) and sold them at significant profits during COVID in Australia. You always pay capital gains tax on any item (even a spoon if the ATO finds out about it) that you sell for more than you purchased it for. There are new articles about it if you search. The argument then becomes if the item is taxable, then the expenses of maintaining it should be tax deductible...
I think oscar owns the mclaren gifted to him. I saw an article that Daniel put his purple McLaren 720s for sale, and he couldn't do that if mclaren gifted car is really a leased one.

Charles actually owns the F1 car he won at Monza in 2019 there plus two other Ferraris. He also has a Bugatti Chiron and a Bentley in there.
