They bring Donna Mills back for a few episodes and Jane has a chance to get to know her Mother better. She isn't really rich. She's a recovering alcoholic thats poor and a failed actress. She just ashamed and it lasted revealed in later episodes. They have a chance to built a relationship. A short one but Jane gets to know her better.
