I am an 80 year old woman and I eat two eggs and oatmeal every morning. My cholesterol is below 200 and my doc tells me I’m in great health. Love to make oven frittatas - veggies and eggs. Easy and delicious!
I knew it! I've been eating 3 to 4 eggs a day all my life, especially when I used to lift weights. I heard all the "Egg whites only" nonsense and will admit there was a time back in the 90s where I tried egg whites only. I found I did not put on muscle (this was during my lifting years) but in fact struggled with it, and I also found my testosterone levels down. When I went back to consuming the yolks too, everything went back to normal. Of course back then I'd eat as many as 6 to 8 a day as I was in my 30s, lifting hard and regularly and could handle it. Over time I did some research and discovered that they actually make testosterone for injection out of "cholesterol" especially egg yolks. So I saw a connection right there and never scooped out a yolk again. Now as I'm about to turn 61 this month, I eat 3 a day, usually sunny side up or as an omlette and I'm doing fine. I always believed they helped with t levels and I always believed I put on better muscle when I leaned more on egg protein than meat or other sources. Excited to see someone confirm what I now know I knew all along.
That's good to hear. Throughout my 20s I was afraid to eat more than 1 egg yolk due to what I heard and read online. Thank you Dr Berg for being honest! God bless!

Dr. Berg have you had your TMAO checked? The egg yolk is rich in choline and compounds that are converted by certain gut bacteria to an intermediary compound and that the liver converts to TMAO. TMAO is atherogenic and increases risk of heart attacks. My lipidologist tested me for it and it was high. It reverted to normal after I substituted my daily whole one egg for breakfast to just egg white. The other foods that raise TMAO are red meats.
@Peter North Rising I used to think that (no doubt the yolk is nutritious) till recently and ate only one whole egg (over easy cooked in olive oil for breakfast) till my lipidologist (cardiologist subspecialty) tested me for TMAO, an atherogenic compound (can read about it online) formed in the blood (from yolk degradation by certain gut bacteria) that increases risk of heart disease. It was high. He told me to to eliminate the yolk and now I eat only the egg white. My TMAO came down to normal in the follow up test 3 months later. The other foods that raise TMAO are red meats, that I don't eat. Please do your own research and have your doctor test you for TMAO.

An organic raw egg is and has been the first meal of the day, after noon, for me for many years and a raw egg in the evening as well. I'll also have 1-2 lightly cooked or boiled in between here and there. One of the main reasons I eat the raw eggs is for the obvious live nutrition but more-so, its one of the only ways to get glutathione from food as long as it is not blended or mixed. One fresh cracked raw egg in organic raw milk for lunch and down the hatch it goes. Thousands down, never an issue and I feel as studly as ever. :) PS: I soak all my eggs from the country store in peroxide water and/or Iodine water as I have most of my produce for the last 20 years. Works great.

7 year Vegetarian here. Due to 4 eggs a day, I avoid supplementing vitamins, minerals, and protein from powder, while bike riding 1 hour to/from work, and I’m a practicing martial artist/athlete, thanks to 4 organic eggs a day. Not pasteurized, like doc says, because I cook them or add them to soups. I avoid soy too, thanks to eggs, I can get that extra 24g in without eating that garbage. Eggs are also important for vegetarians, because cyanocobalamin (cheapest and most common version of synthetic b12) isn’t well understood as much as we think, due to it being on the shelf as of recently.. my vegan friend used to take 500% of his daily value of b12 from the supplements, and that resulted in him getting a brain tumor.. or so I believe it to be the main reason. Cyancobilamin is literally cyanide, and is so that it can penetrate the brain-blood barrier, for the body to readily absorb b12 FDA says it’s safe. What do you think? Do yer own research to see if I’m wrong, or misread something
It's important to consider how each category was processed before being eaten. Raw meats/raw dairy have a significantly higher anabolic effect when the proteins are not heated to a very high temperature
Yep I agree I eat A LOT of eggs and I feel fine I try to eat at least two-three eggs a day organic ones occasionally I get pasture raised but always organic
What's the best preparation for those eggs? Hard boiled, pouched, fried? If I have them fried, what kind of oil would be best? Could I eat them all 4 in one meal? Or should I divide them through out the day?
I thought I'd share what we do on Our Organic Chicken Farm (at our home) Initially we to let our chickens run freely around our organic farm, but when we did this, we lost a very high number of chickens to Chicken Hawks and Eagles. Therefore, we built a "Free Range" facility for them that allows them to run freely inside the facility (that has nearly 90% unsheltered area). We also ensured that they have plenty of room to move around and horizontal branches to climb onto. Yes, chickens like climbing onto branches at night. Result, our chickens are alive, social, and healthy. Continued Success in all you do. Greg P 👨🌾
Watching this reminds me of the reason as to why it is so hard to gain decent muscle from natural gym training. I do eat some eggs but I have duck eggs in the UK as most of the chicken eggs in all the stores are poor quality and all the chickens are vaccinated and I wish to avoid that route personally. The duck eggs I've had have been really good with bright yolks so I'm guessing they must be healthy. One of the reasons I eat 3x a day is due to gym training as I know from experience that protein reductions lead to rapid fatigue, becoming run down and physically unable to lift anything and it doesn't take long to lose any gains made either.
I heard egg yokes are not good for pancreas. Pancreas worries me because my friend looked fine yet some test showed she had Pancreatic Cancer. She died in November. Goodbye Liz, gone physically but, not forgotten.
Now I wonder why higher percentages of proteins from some sources are turning into body tissue and less from other sources. Can someone please explain that to me?
With all due respect I'm more curious as to HOW more than WHY you manage to eat 7 to 10 cups of salad in addition to those 4 to 5 eggs (and obviously other stuff as well). I could never eat that much food in a meal...
@@VictorYepello I understand that salads are great but they fill me up quite quickly. I do eat them, but just not the amount he recommends or eats especially as a daily amount. I eat an amount that's just enough for me.

I used to go to "Eggs &Things" in Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii. I love their pancakes and swordfish combo. The restaurant facade is a dive, but after suntanning and streetdancing along the beachfront, the food is a feast!
When you say turns into body tissue, do you mean muscle mass. There was a study with older men, the omnivore diet vs Lactoovo vegetarian diet with resistance training. The omnivore diet scored considerably higher on developing muscle.
@Sebastian edwards you gained muscle by dropping the best source of it's building blocks? Now, if we only we knew what other things you changed. Are you sure tons of muscle, aren't just less fat covering it than it used to?

Amaan A - Man oh man, that'll be a batte of the medical minds, I suppose Dr. Berg's argument would lean towards consuming cage-free eggs that were laid from free range chickens lol...
Dr. Eric Berg DC Please advise on this Nonetheless, excessive egg consumption is generally discouraged due to the high cholesterol content in egg yolk. A meta-analysis found that the addition of 100 mg dietary cholesterol from eggs minimally increased total cholesterol and HDL cholesterol (4).

It would have been nice if he spoke about HOW to eat them. I think scrambling/frying eggs isn’t healthy but I’m sure there are lots of people who enjoy eating them that way.
Those percentages are all made up.. body tissues is formed with excess calories, not a particular food. I'd waste away if I only ate 5 eggs per day but I'd out in huge mass if I ate 4000 calories from soy.

I began eating 5 eggs per day after watching this video,at first Evey thing got better but now I am having flu and headaches and my heart pumping fast
Every body's different. I'm 56 year's old. I used to eat 4 to 5 eggs a day. My Cholesterol was starting to get high. My doctor tried to give me medication for it.
Instead, i cut down on eating eggs for breakfast. My Cholesterol is back to normal. Eating 4 to 5 eggs is not good for everyone. Listen to your body, and pay attention what you eat. As we get older, we need to make adjustments with our meals to have a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Berg I also feel like I discovered gold when I found your video on reverse sit ups for belly fat. Thank you!! You are the best ever!
Good information I'd been thinking only in the last few days about eggs and how they've got to be better than a mere cholesterol scare. Thanks.
The legendary bodybuilder Vince Gironda had the same philosophy on eggs back in the 1960s. He called them the perfect food. (Whole eggs, of course).
Remember Sylvester Stallone gulping down a measuring cup full of raw eggs in Rocky.
Really glad to hear this about the eggs because i had started eating just eggs whites, because I thought they where bad for my cholesterol.
I ate 2 eggs and 1 banana in my breakfast every single morning! Thank u!
this is back to basics.. eggs are perfect nutricional gift of nature
as long as they are pasture-raised and not living indoors and fed soy grains
That seems normal to me they’re a great snack hard-boiled eggs
I heard that hard-boiled are the healthiest because more nutrients are preserved. BTW Nice looking German Shepherd Dog !

I've been trying to shred off 6% of my body fat for this challenge. I was eating 3 eggs a day and having oatmeal with them for my breakfast. This week I cut the oatmeal and upped to 5 eggs.. we'll see how it translates to muscle growth compared to past weeks. I might be sold on 5 eggs a day

I eat 4 poached eggs everyday, what’s funny is I’m eating them now while I’m watching this video lol. I also put a ton of fresh ground pepper on them because I take my turmeric right after I eat them. Good Stuff...
Thanks I’ve always enjoyed eggs I’m 71. Since your talk on eggs some months ago I’ve taken to eating 1 or 2 eggs at breakfast/lunch. I fry them with a little animal fat and serve on burnt edge toast (buttered) then throw on salt pepper and Tobasco…awesome meal thanks
It makes a very logical sense since eggs provide all elements for the egg, embryo and ...
It is an actual super food imo.
Cyancobilamin is literally cyanide, and is so that it can penetrate the brain-blood barrier, for the body to readily absorb b12
FDA says it’s safe. What do you think? Do yer own research to see if I’m wrong, or misread something
Lol my ex husband has eaten eggs all his life and butter. He has no wrinkles. His skin is lush. And hes in his 50s😃

It's important to consider how each category was processed before being eaten. Raw meats/raw dairy have a significantly higher anabolic effect when the proteins are not heated to a very high temperature
And they also have a significantly higher risk of containing harmful bacteria.
Yep I agree I eat A LOT of eggs and I feel fine I try to eat at least two-three eggs a day organic ones occasionally I get pasture raised but always organic
Thank you! Well explained. I eat 5 eggs plus whey and im working out
Isn’t eating eggs and other foods everyday for long period of time increasing the chance of developing food intolerance ?
What's the best preparation for those eggs? Hard boiled, pouched, fried? If I have them fried, what kind of oil would be best? Could I eat them all 4 in one meal? Or should I divide them through out the day?
I thought I'd share what we do on Our Organic Chicken Farm (at our home)
Initially we to let our chickens run freely around our organic farm, but when we did this, we lost a very high number of chickens to Chicken Hawks and Eagles.

Just think about the egg..it’s almost a “perfect” food…if it can “potentially “ grow into a living bird…quite amazing food! Food of life!
I've been eating eggs since I was 14. You are spot on. I weigh 270, 250 lbs of muscle. Great video, Sir!
Damn dude your a freaking bear
Thanks Doc! I like to eat eggs, this makes me like them more.
Egg proteins are easy to digest and are basically high quality in order to feed the chicks development. Same with breast milk for babies etc...
Google it to find all the research and data you can. Then you'll be highly versed on it and can explain it to us!
Yay. Always heard they were bad for you but happy to know that they're not because I practically live on them.
With all due respect I'm more curious as to HOW more than WHY you manage to eat 7 to 10 cups of salad in addition to those 4 to 5 eggs (and obviously other stuff as well). I could never eat that much food in a meal...
I was thinking the same!
He eats 2 meals a day.
7 cups of salad isn't as much as you may think and it's great for your digestive system plus provides many nutrients.
@@VictorYepello In one video Dr. Berg said he eats 20 cups of vegetables. He said his cup was 1 ounce. That's 567 grams vegetables. This is too much.
@@VictorYepello I understand that salads are great but they fill me up quite quickly. I do eat them, but just not the amount he recommends or eats especially as a daily amount. I eat an amount that's just enough for me.

Good question. So all protein is not equal? This would throw a wrench into the “how much protein should I consume” conundrum.

I love eggs and can have them all day everyday. Thank you Dr Berg for all the infomation you give us. God bless you and your family. PS love the recipe channel too.
I used to go to "Eggs &Things" in Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii. I love their pancakes and swordfish combo. The restaurant facade is a dive, but after suntanning and streetdancing along the beachfront, the food is a feast!

I wonder how he comes to the conclusion of the claims. I don’t think I have ever come across this before
When you say turns into body tissue, do you mean muscle mass. There was a study with older men, the omnivore diet vs Lactoovo vegetarian diet with resistance training. The omnivore diet scored considerably higher on developing muscle.
Muscle is tissue, there are different types of tissue
A vegetarian diet is crap. It's course it scored worse.
@Sebastian edwards Sure, what meat were you eating?
@Sebastian edwards you gained muscle by dropping the best source of it's building blocks? Now, if we only we knew what other things you changed. Are you sure tons of muscle, aren't just less fat covering it than it used to?
Egging me on to eat more, im convinced!

@Marc N. or eat them raw.
HDL cholesterol is good though. It functions to carry away LDL cholesterol stuck in the arteries away from the arteris and into the liver

I typically eat 2 a day, late morning after my workout, so I’ll start bumping that up. Calorie-wise, eggs are a great bang for the buck too (60-70 for large). And they’re filling and stick with you. Dang, after seeing this, I might start paying for the “pasture” raised version.. 👍🏼
