Thank you for your review Sam, I'm glad you enjoyed our game :)
Regarding the rule you had trouble with, you've played it correctly. You deal damage equal to the total amount of power on all spells activated this round. We mention it in the rulebook on page 3 (where magic power was explained) but I guess we need to highlight it more in the next printing.
    Woohoo! Seal of Approval !

Dice Throne plus Fuse! Both of those are hits in my family so I'll be picking this one up.

Tried it at Essen 17 and bought it right away. About the rule example, you have to add up the numbers in the blue circle for the spells you completed that turn! (some spells have a blue circle, others don't). And that is the total healing you do!

Finally got a chance to test-drive this game and... with the rules-as-written concerning the utterly delicious dice chaos taking place at the table, I can't see this working for my gaming group. With two players, we did a dry run of taking turns rolling much like playing 'Farkle' and it gave us a fun experience... but trying to play it as written wound up being a bit too fast a pace for us.
(For reference, my brother took the wizard whose powers rely on dice - and first card was the Cloak of Invisibility, giving him enough defensive turtling to chip with magic based on that blue die while I tried like mad to KEEP him from getting more of those as the pyromancer. It almost was close until he scored 'Earthquake'...)
But this game looks solid in theory to give the nieces once they're old enough to understand fair play and basic game-table etiquette. If there's more options for different characters or variety to starting spells... not to mention more scrolls to the deck!... then this could be even a better experience to undertake!

We checked everywhere and the only place we could find it was the company's site shipped from Europe.

Do you always attack the same direction? If so, then where you are on the table is a huge amount of unfairness it seems. Take that glass cannon character that does high damage but has low health. The player to their right is going to get hammered while the player to the left is going to have a much easier time of it. The player to the left has a target that is fairly easy to kill, and once they are dead, the NEXT player along will be very weak from the very aggro wizard they just eliminated.
Have not played it, so it may be a non issue. Maybe all the players do similar damage.

In one of my gaming group, for reasons I don't understand at all, whenever people roll dice they roll them in the wildest, showiest manner possible and it always results in dice bouncing off the table and going everywhere. This is not a game for that group.

Seems like your group doesn't know how to roll dice, investing in a few dice towers might ease your pain.

@loneXolf A dice tower seems like it would be really annoying for a speed rolling game. A simple dice tray would probably be better.

Sure it will probably make the game slower, but I assumed if they can't roll on a flat surface just give them each their own dice tower, that might make the game at least playable.

I think the problem lies more in the need to roll the die with grandiose flourish. Dice towers won't fix that. We'll just have a bunch of busted/knocked over dice towers. I'm the main supplier of games for that group so I'll just not bring this one out. I learned my lesson with Space Cadets Dice Duel.
