@@craigsdennis but seriously.. i rely on your pages + workers plan so much, it's better than anything. This was a really awesome walkthrough of all Cloudflare products. This is my first time hearing any many of them! More tutorials and architecture walkthroughs please :)
Great overview. Some one should write a blog post tutorial based on last portion about developing a e-commerce site by integrating all cloudflare products.
Aah, I've not quite started to build anything yet, but i read a lot of the documentation...I'm hoping that it's sufficient, but I have a feeling that maybe a little bit more of what you asked for may be needed. Good luck hitmusicworldwide!
Love the CF stack, I use it mainly for nextjs. Would be nice though if we could inspect the workers code that gets deployed when we deploy to CF and it transforms the API routes into workers. Had a bug recently which was impossible to track because I couldn't check the workers code. So really nice work, all we need though is stability
would love to see cloudflare add services like SES and Cognito. Maybe some ONNX runtime for JS. Using the wonnx runtime with rust has too much friction
Am using r2 for media storage ..however id like to move the app backend to cloud flare, its a strapi cms for a flutter app ,also the db is a postgress dabse on supabse..can i do all this on cloudflare?
Yep! strapi has a page on how to port it pages, and we have a page that lets you use Hyperdrive to connect to Supabase. (you could also port the database to D1)
is it possible to deploy a fullstack Flask / FastAPI web app in Cloudflare? Been searching in CF forums but I don't get a clear answer. Has anyone built something using Flask or FastAPI complete with HTML, JS, CSS as the frontend...so it's not a static website.
We currently have a version of Python workers in BETA and you can build with FastAPI there. The more stable versions of Workers are built with JavaScript/TypeScript or Rust.
Love Cloudflare! Plllleease improve your developer docs. There is a lot of inconsistencies and missing bits throughout the docs and it really makes getting going slower than what I think it should be.
You cited a study saying that devs only spend 50% of their time building software, but then you had a skit about all the devs reporting in stand-ups about ... time spent building software. When studies show developers spend 50% of time *not* building software, they don't mean developers 50% of the time building software *with difficulty* (and the other 50% building software *with ease*). They mean that 50% of the time they literally aren't building software at all: neither with ease nor with difficulty. The time wasted is spent on attending meetings, like standups, project management, bureaucracy, etc.
Is a software engineer's job really just writing code though? Why does everyone think this. I really don't see anything wrong in not giving code updates during standup. I mean, if an engineer doesn't do all the work around maintaining and writing better code, who will? Product managers, Business analysts, yeah right 🙄
This is all wonderful. But how are you guys gonna make money on it? I love Cloudflare and I need my vendors to be healthy. I love free stuff but it’s hardly sustainable.
You mean your Response.body? jk. I think this is a joke, but if not, let me know, I'd love to learn more! It's $5 dollars a month, if you upgrade from the free tier, so that's a lot of months!

I appreciate the sentiment! Offering a free tier is a win win situation. I'm going to include a link to a blog called "Reaffirming our commitment to Free" in the next comment...just letting you know in case the Tubes thinks it's spam...ha!
Really love Craig's style. Definitely engaging
Thanks for hanging out!
Thanks to cloudflare for helping me create a full stack website and API program! Very nice CloudFlare. Love from China.
oh Nice!! I'm trying to learn how to do my first one too. And Cloudflare is the platform i chose too.
Please don’t become the vilain because I enjoy a lot what you’re doing

Cloudflare seems such a cool product, even cooler than google in my opinion.
Hard same.
it would be nice to have Auth too - that together with a more friendly interface would make CF to be my go to stack.
There's a thing called Zero Trust
@@saiv46tho that's not really meant for general use auth but more internal right?

following you guys from past few months loving the product totally.
keep it up

Having good examples would be great in future videos
Nice tight presentation. Great to see what cloudflare is doing for Devs. I’m a fan!
Nicely done by Craig!

does d1 support transactions?

You know the docs are open source you can contribute them yourself too if you see missing bits.

Containers pls 🙏

I am really missing ability to host golang apps in the cloudflare.
Interesting! Let me bring this up with the team!
So Cloudflare is the new AWS

What we really need is a way to deploy our good old time proven monolith.
does coudflare have something for such?

@@craigsdennis Pretty much. I want to host my hono and nextjs app but the hono backend will need to be stateful

See the latest OpenNext project we just joined!
Now, how much does all of this cost?!
There is a very generous free tier, but each product page in the docs has a pricing page. It is all usage based.
Cloudflare's products are prime example of vendor lock-in. AVOID if you're non-commercial organization or online-first business
Sorry you feel this way. We try to go above and beyond to make you able to choose what to use wherever you want to.
aren't AWS, GCP, Azure, Vercel also examples of vendor lock in?
Create a fargate or heroku like service and you'll be perfect cloudflare. do it.
Integrating CF products with nextjs is pain
this much vendor lock in is terrifying for any business owner, should cloudflare decide not to host my business anymore

Yeah I can't even run a container on Cloudflare. It's all proprietary concepts and APIs.
