Coda was not an actual person; Davey admitted this in a interview. It’s pretty obvious that the Davey guy is self-aware, and that he wants to show how the game market has devolved into depression and self-sacrifice for a sub-par game.

This might sound haha but this game makes me feel so depressed but at ease for some reason. I make games in my spare time and for some reason it's relatable.
Just out of curiosity, do you relate to Coda more, who made games for the sake of it and didn't feel like they had to mean anything, didn't need validation from them. Or do you relate more to Davey who want's to create a meaning for everything and show off work to everyone in order to receive external validation. Or is it some mix.

I’ve never heard of this game before and now after watching it makes me think about a friend I used to have, now I wonder if I pushed them away without realizing it, makes me wonder what I did, makes me want to reach back out but I’m too scared of rejection, too scared of being ignored/ghosted, I don’t want to be needy or annoying but I also want closure and want to know what they thought of me as a person, this game made me feel all of this and for that I’d say it’s pretty damn good. Love you chat, and it’s not just me :)

Trust me as someone who used to be super afraid of rejection and certain forms of social interaction i can tell you that the what if scenario that will echo through your head for years and years to come will be much more exhausting. It sounds stupid when you are in that position and people tell you to “just do it” but trust me if you really want it and really care just go for it, and if you cant be fucked to do it just let it go
It's a beautiful game, the entire game is a metaphor for what it means to be a creator, going through all those challenges just to sacrifice yourself for others, and in the end, being able to look back at what you've just traversed, what you've created, what you've done, and it's beautiful.

This game really holds a place in my heart. It's genuinely one of my favorites for the story and characters. I wish chat would calm the fuck down and understand the game doesn't have to be an fps with constant action to be good.
This is the first time I've ever been outright annoyed by xQc's playthrough of a game in like 16 months of watching him. Yeah, he is Pepega and fucks up a lot of games, but with this one him and chat just never gave it a chance, never read the mood/tone, and outright disrespected the game. What a shame, I consider this to be the most well told short narrative game that I have ever seen...
And this game will alwats be , like it's so deep idk why they blame the Davey tho i think he did the right thing(even tho : SPOILER ALERT : They both are the same person)
It's garbage. Like it's actually garbage. You don't feel invested, the games being played are boring and not interesting, the story is way too drawn out and nothing interesting is being said most of the time. Not alot of games will have me feel this bored, but this one really did make me feel bored.
Nothing to look at and be like hey that's neat.
No gameplay.
No story.
It's just a dogshit game that could have been made differently and tell an interesting story about game design and whatnot, but it just turned out bad and boring.

I think the thought itself is self-explanatory, but let me expand on this a bit.
It all starts from here. This image pops up on the top of galactic cafe's website, if you reload the pages a few times.
As you see, in The Beginner's Guide, Davey is the embodiment of fear. Coda is the loss-of-self.
If you haven't realized by now, this short paragraph is actually the whole plot of The Beginner's Guide.
As many people have pointed out before, the creation of The Beginner's Guide was heavily inspired by what Davey was going through in real life, after the success of The Stanley Parable.
As you can see, there was a moment in Davey's life, when he was just thinking: "Who the hell am i making these games for?"
And i think, the answer was very simple: "Compliments Of Dumb Assholes."
As in the end of the game, Davey realizes he needs to find a source of motivation to make games, except of external validation.
And i think that is the point, "Coda", is external validation.
How do u know thats what it stands for tho
My thoughts is Coda is a play on the word "Coder" personally, but not a bad idea either :)

Games like this always make me self-reflect for a long while. I always suddenly start feeling depressed, but humbled and calm at the same time. It disappoints me that xqc and chat can’t seem to take away anything from this game.

@@tourloupas4302 I'm glad you liked it. But majority of people wont like it. I'm not alone in this matter, I watched 40 minutes of this video and I've never been more bored in my life. It would do much better for the story to cut it down into more edible pieces that you can consume, rather than having the player/viewer be bored out of their mind before they even get to a point where they can get invested into the greater picture of the game.
This is such an amazing game, the only game that made me feel like playing stanley parable again for the first time

I know this game is supposed to be about the video game industry according the the developers, but I thought that it’s more than that.
I thought that it was about art. That art can have a clear meaning to it’s creator, but mean absolutely nothing to others, and that those that don’t understand the art denounce it. This causes the artist to morph their artworks to something they dislike in order to please others.

The channel “Prince ea” is a channel dedicated to dramatic videos; there are over 400 of them, so you shouldn’t have to watch xqc anymore.

I thought xqc was pretty attentive at learning the story but he needed to farm/engage the part of the chat that wasn’t. Idk for sure tho
If he really felt that way he would have stopped playing. The fact that he knew what the ending would be before it happened means he was attentive enough to learn the lesson that Davey is still ignoring by the end of the game. He is clearly playing a character himself when he says that.
If its not his kinda game its not his kinda game. TBH I find this to be more the fault of whoever recommended this game. It is so clearly not a game meant for XQCs stream.
