    My mom passed away in December 08, and when I found your channel it flooded me with all these beautiful memories of my mothers cooking. I tried several of your recipes, and they have been nostalgic. But today’s recipe of your pozole brought me tears of joy. It was exactly like my mother’s. Please continue to share your recipes.

    I made Posole for the first time yesterday with this recipe. If i had known it was this easy to make I wouldn’t have waited so long to make some. I made it in my Instant Pot pressure cooker (which cuts co much time) and added extra cumin, oregano and salt but other than that I’d say I followed your directions. Thanks so much, everyone loved it!

    • @veeveefrias7490
      @veeveefrias7490 2 роки тому +4

      @@jennC8797 so sorry I’m so late with the response. Ok it’s a bit of a process. First I cook just the meat with water and salt for 15 mins, release open and add the Chile. Cook another 15 mins, after it’s released pressure remove the meat and set it aside. Add the hominy and cook 7 mins. When done add it all together.
      So 15, 15 and 7.

    Dear Mama Maria - on behalf of our familia we would like to thank you for providing us with these awesome you tube videos on how to cook genuine Mexican dishes. Your kindness in sharing your knowledge of how to cook these amazing recipes is appreciated. You have blessed our casa with a really tasty batch of posole. My wife was able to make her first batch of posole and it came out really good. Thank you Mama Maria! Merry Christmas🎄

    A tip from my dad: to thicken the broth/soup, add about 3-4 cups of hominy (or if you buy the huge can shown in the video, use 1/4 of the hominy) with liquid from the can and mix it into the blender. Add that blended mix to the pozole.

      I do this!
      Also, when straining the chile, I wait till its about to go into the pot, and use the broth from the pot to help get every last drop of chile out while straining out the skin.

    I am four years late but I too lost my Mother almost 7 years ago now. I am old, I remember calling Mom and saying "Mommy, I am hungry" and without missing a beat, she would say "give me a hour, Mija" and indeed she was ready. Homemade breakfast, warm tortillas and fresh chili...eggs and beans, crispy bacon and my father being European White, fried potatoes. Man, until I was 49 I had those Blessings. I use fresh cut cilantro with mine and indeed, radish. I am half 'white' so I freak everyone out and put Crema on mine. A small bit of sour cream, rich spicy broth, all the toppings and tostadas or homemade chips, the best.

    BEST posole I have ever made!!! Except I used California and New Mexico chilis because my grocery store (I went to 2 of them) did not carry ancho or guajillo chilis. I still used the arbol chilies. So full of flavor and the tip to continuously skim the scum and fat from the top was GENIOUS!!! THANK YOU so much for sharing, this will be my staple posole recipe from now on!!!

    YUMMY! My daughter in law is from Mexico and she makes Posole for parties. she leaves the pork on the bone, cuts a huge onion in half, takes the skin off and puts whole cloves of garlic in it without taking the skin off. I guess it's easier that way. The only thing I didn't see or hear you say, is we add at the end, cilantro. Yes, the radishes are a go to for us as well. Now that I see how simple it is, I think this white girl will make it. I also can't tollerate heat, so I'll use less chilies.
    Thank you for your informative video. I liked and subscribed.

    My daughter loves pozole I have never in my life attempted to make it. She begged me for two weeks to make it for her and I kept telling her Danica I don’t know how, I knew you had a video so I found it again and we made it Sunday. She died a few times with how much she loved it. She was so happy. Thank you for not making it so hard for the two of us. She went to her mimis house with a gallon container of it for the next couple of days.

I don't get to eat much authentic Spanish food since my mother and I moved to another state from my family over 10 years ago and it's awesome I now know someone that makes it just like my grandma's! Cant wait to try thid recipe out! One of my favorite!

    I actually made this last November (minus the arbol chile and I added radish) and it was soo delicious! The pork was extremely tender!! My kids then ages 1/2 were able to eat it as well with no problem with spice. It was my first time making pozole and I was beyond pleased with this recipe and how it turned out !🙌🏼✨❤️ I’m back here to rewatch the video and familiarize myself with the recipe again because it’s getting cold soon and I plan on making it again😆😁✨

    Message from Belgium: prepared your recipe and it turned out to be amazingly good!! I only made a mistake with the hominy: you spoke about 5 cups of hominy. I did 4 cups...of dried hominy. But hey : no problem!! It is an extremely filled soup and it has so much flavour that is soaked up by the hominy... Thank you for learning me this. I'm going to share your UA-cam footage on my FB-foodpage "Onder Stoom"

    Every time I make pozole I watch this video .. it’s so delicious only thing I’ve changed a few times is how I make the pork meat ... I usually just throw my meat in a crock pot with half an onion and a bay leaf with some chicken bouillon amd then mix it all together afterwards.. no one likes hard pork meat ... a crock pot does the job at making the meat so soft .. give it a try 😇

    Hey, just an aside, the seeds that are being removed from those beautiful peppers can be PLANTED and you will have your VERY OWN pepper plants!! In the scheme of things, however, because of pollination, you may not have a TRUE pepper, but they will be delicious none-the-less!!
