Amazing keyboard, I’m saving up for it, hopefully I’ll be able to buy it for my birthday. Can’t wait to jam with friends, Yamaha did a good job with this one I’ve seen!
The more I familiarize myself with it the more I love it! I just ordered a FC7 controller pedal and got it in today. I plug it into controller 2 Jack and am assigning it to organ sounds as volume pedal and also secondary sounds like layered strings and pads. It works great to fade those sounds in and out while playing a piano or electric piano sound as the main sound. I set up a patch for Sailing by Christopher Cross and fading those strings in and out makes all the difference in the world! I may do another video now to demonstrate some things I’ve learned so far. I really think you are going to love it!!
First let me say that it was just a personal subjective decision. It was a Roland RD-2000. I really liked many of the features but I prefer a quicker response on the keyboard touch and for some reason I couldn’t fall in love with the acoustic piano sound…again just personal preference. With that said I am really loving this YC88. It is very similar to the Nord Stage 3 in its design. I am not an organ player but I am becoming one now. I love the drawbars and the organ controls and am really getting a feel for the organ. A couple weeks ago I played in a group as a 2nd keyboardist and played a lot of organ and loved it!!
