Mexico City isn't going to just disappear anytime soon. You're much better off leaving and exploring other parts of Mexico that don't have water issues. Head back to Mexico city before flying to wherever is next. Make sure to try mole, birria tacos, polloa asado, carne asada, menudo, horchata, tinga de pollo, aguas frescas, and chile con carne before leaving.

No es normal el quedarte sin servicio de agua por más de una hora, y también eso es un problema que tienen que reportar al servicio de Airbnb, en un hotel tradicional no pasarán por esa situación.

18:41 The lack of water in your hotel could be due to the fact that some cistern pump motors require a minimum level of water to operate. Perhaps the water level was below the minimum, and although there is water in the cistern, it is not enough to pump. It is sad that there is a shortage of water, largely due to so much construction in recent years. Besides that and other things, it's a wonderful city. Love the tortas!!!

People run to Paris and london for the romance of the thought of those cities but Mexico City will make you feel alive with its sights sounds and tastes. Truly on a league of its own. Deserves all the recognition it’s been getting.

Can't wait to get to CDMX! It's in the 2025 plan. The no water thing sucks - we went to San Andres island (Colombia) for 5 days and not a single day we had "all 3" water/electricity/wifi. 2.5 days straight we had no water AND no electricity. I took my shampoo/body wash and walked to the beach and bathed in the ocean LOL. Hope it wasn't out for too long for you guys!

The water situation is definitely the hotel’s fault… there is a water shortage, but… pretty much every building in the city should have a water tank (cisterna in Spanish) that gets filled when the water city is running and should be sufficient for the whole building
The tents in the square is a protest.
Not to say there aren’t tent areas for homeless in Mexico City, but is not as easy to see as in some cities in the USA.

Taco al pastor is basically another version of Shawarma, when the Lebanese migration hit Mexico they brought Shawarma to us and us “mexicanizamos” (turn a thing from another country to a Mexican version) the Shawarma, we change the lamb beef to pig beef and that end it up in “tacos al pastor”

And houses have Tinaco (water deposit on the roof) so no, it isn´t normal not having water in your room, you should ask for a partial refund.

Oh… the tents at the zocalo don’t belong to homeless people: I believe it was a Union encampment as part of a protest as one of the buildings next to Zocalo is the National Palace and the home of the president. Can't wait to go to cdmx for our honeymoon. We're aware of the water issue and it's devastating so we may alter our plans because of it. "The system that supplies about 25 percent of the water to Mexico City's residents is running dry. Drought, climate change, urbanization, infrastructure issues and other factors are driving down water levels in a group of reservoirs called the Cutzamala system."

spanish no so good after so much time in the Dominican Republic. Wow. It is really true . Monolingual native English speakers think that everybody should speak their language

Our Spanish is actually improving a lot. But not good enough to read political signs with uncommon words. But in certain situations we can get along really well. And we in no way expect anyone to speak English (and we certainly didn’t say that). We get asked a lot by people that watch our videos and want to know what it’s like when they go to a new place. Thanks for the lovely comment though 🙄. - Anna

Today was the presidential election (wasn't it?). They said on the news it was going to be bad. It looks beautiful 😊

This was filmed a couple weeks ago. There's no way we could film and release a video in one day. It's way too much work 😀 - Trevor

Do not pay any attention to Media; new governments since 2018 in Mexico do not pay them $ anymore, so they are so angry, even international Media!
