Hey! I hope you guys enjoy this week's video!! If you have any tips on properly recycling old plastic bags that I had stored in under my sink, please let me know! Or if I should just keep them forever! I am on a mission to using recycled bags for 100% of my shopping trips! I'll be chatting with you guys in the comments for the next few hours so comment below!! 🗨🤗
XO, MaCenna I usually keep at least half of my reusable bags in my car, otherwise I never have them when I need them. For plastic bags, I stuff them into a cleaning wipes container. You’d be amazed at how many bags you can stuff into one of those.
Not sure where you live but I know a lot of grocery stores take back plastic shopping bags and recycle them properly. Most stores just have a bin out front you can drop them into. Hope this helps!
Thank you for always putting out what I like to call 'achievable' content. Everyone has different circumstances so it's nice to see how small changes can revamp a space! In your next makeover (your home or a client if possible) I'd love to see you provide more in depth Pinterest instruction like searches or something that help you find the visuals in your head. I also wondered if you had a habitat for humanity or restore where you live because I think that would be a good resource for you as well
Thanks so much!! I try and do all different “scales” of projects && I can absolutely add a deeper looking into the inspiration stage and searching on Pinterest!! For this project for instance I first typed in “white cabinet kitchen” because that was something predominate in the room I couldn’t change. 🤗I actually have a habitat near me and I went for the first time today!! So crazy you mentioned it. I didn’t realize they had tile and windows and countertops!! So cool!
XO, MaCenna I had no idea there were building supplies. Contractors donate the cabinets, sinks, etc they remove when doing a reno. Tile & flooring are some of the best finds at the H4H store
@@fionabest822 come to Portugal and you'll see what's olive oil is all about, and yes homemade olive oil it's put in big clear bottles but we keep it on the pantry away from the sun and light, the best way its indeed a dark bottle.
When covering something that is round or has corners with contact paper cut (angled) slits! It allows the paper to lay a lot flatter and neater underneath so you don't have that mess of ripples. It's done quite frequently in sewing!
Except she demonstrated how the Skillshare course she took on watercolour painting was so poor quality that it didn't teach her the basic skill of prestretching paper so that it doesn't warp lol
Finally, an aesthetic I’ve been looking for. Everyone seems to be doing that “farmhouse” decor but that’s not my style. This is so great, thanks for the inspiration!
Love ur style. It is a Scandinavian meets spa in arizona vibe in your house. Love ur art, great job. The subway wallpaper was a prestine touch. Ur landlord must love u.
@@XOMaCenna I was going to suggest the same thing! Before you put up the subway tile, I thought you needed a mirror hanging behind the shelf. Maybe round with wood trim? Or bronze trim to match the new handles. The shelf will still will work over the subway tile, too (IMHO!) Try it. 🙂
I just LOVE your style. Honestly, if I hadn’t have seen you putting up that tiles paper, I wouldn’t have known they weren’t real tiles. Although the changes were quite minimal, it’s made a huge impact. It really looks warm and inviting and I love it. I know you’re about DIYs but I must request you consider sharing your makeup routine. You always look fabulous and I just love your eye makeup especially. LOL it's so refreshing to know that somebody as organized as you had an under-sink area that looked like THAT!!!! No shame. No judgement... nice results. Thanks!!!
This is amazing. Love love love it. Keep up the great work. The art work. Wow it's beautiful. And that is so brave. I overthink so much about art and how perfect it's supposed to be and then abandon the whole idea.
Thanks so much!! Omg I totally understand that!! I use to do the same thing and then I was like well if I hate it I’ll just start over or paint over it 🤗 watercolor was actually really fun and therapeutic a definite must try!! 🎨
I love the watercolor paintings - great job. You are a natural. To flatten the paper, get paper towels for the painted side and lay face down; lightly wet the back and line with paper towels; put heavy books on the entire surface and press for a couple of days.
I swear ! your videos and your voice tone are just like therapy ! i enjoyed all ur makeovers.. your energy is just so relaxing when some1 is going through a bad day .
I find it really helpful to actually store my reusable bags in my car so that I don't accidentally forget to bring them to the store! That makes it so much easier to remember them every time :) Also, that rug and your watercolor painting are gorgeous! I love those warm tones.
Wow!! Table turned out SO good. I’m amazed with your blow dryer trick! Of course puckered underneath, just like upholstering furniture- but that blow dryer made your sides SEAMLESS. Looks so good!
@@FourJaysFour just keep in mind that if you choose an all over color you're gonna see were one starts and the other finishes. So marble or wood are better options in my opinion.
At first I thought the subway tile peel-n-stick wall paper was a mistake but in the final walk-thru it looked good. The black grouting on the paper combined with the stove stop and black handles look purposeful. I also liked your paintings much better at the end. This is probably the reason you make videos and I just watch. My favorite piece in your makeover was the rug. Love the combination of rust orange with the bluey grey. That color combo was good in the painting too.
I love warm tones like this. You did a fabulous job and have great taste in decor. I love what you've done with your whole place. Oh, and the wall paper is amazing. It made your whole kitchen warmer and stylish.
I really appreciate how you show the room afterwards for such a long time. It allows me to really see the changes and the details you’ve added. I love that aspect in all your diy videos so thank you for doing it!!!
A little tip for watercolor: If you don't want the paper to become wavy, you can Tape the paper down on a flat surface (like a wooden board) before painting. It will get a little wavy when wet but it should be flat again, when it's dry, so you really need to let it dry while still taped down. It also helps to use thicker paper. :)
“Target made some good stuff but this one’s SOOOO GOODDDD.” Girl. I get it. Dying laughing at your rug appreciation, but right there with ya. Want the same print but with blue tones for my living room. LOVE the rust tone in your kitchen!

The medium brown canvas covered Shel Silverstein book of children’s poetry to the rescue. I read that book all the time at a kid. It was one of the best book I have ever read. On top of having some very fun and silly poems for kids, it also has some that change importance as you become an adult!
I used the same trick of using the same bottle shape for all my vintages & oils. Then I took it one step further and did the same with lentils & dried beans. With the lentils & beans, I used spaghetti jars that I had saved. I need to do something with all the salad dressings. Having the same size & shape of jars let’s you fit in so much more into the same space.
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad I went back and added the Subway tile .. it felt like something was just so off about that space over the sink. It totally transformed it 🤗
Yes I got the ingredients organizer from my local Costco and it comes with all the ingredients already packed in the jars. The watercolor paintings could be made flat by wetting, stretching and securing the paper with staples to a board prior to painting. They turned out great!
Another trick is to paint the back of the painting with a large damp brush and flatten it down by securing it with staples after the painting is painted. Though the paint can crack if you do that.
Kathey Briggs , me too. I’m so tired of this everything grey and white look for an entire home. Hard to find a good channel where one decorates with color.

The bottom of my kitchen sink use to look like that. I ended up buying an organizer for under the sink and it holds a lot of kitchen supplies cleaning items etc.
It looks really good!! I know me and I would have placed a huge tall plant in that breakfast nook because there's so much sun and some cushions on the bench. I would sit there and enjoy my morning coffee & be blessed ❤
Hahah I designed it, shopped and ordered online for about a week and the. I just put it all together in one day! I’m always exhausted after though for sure!!!
This looks so good!! The subway contact paper really took it to the next level. If you wanted some more light or that breakfast nook to look bigger you could put a mirror on one of those shelves!

It looks great! I love how the contact paper on the table turned out. I feel like when I see others use it, it looks so janky and fake. How do you not have more followers?!
I was thinking the same! Lol. So pretty but how can you actually cook with all the pretty stuff on the counters? But then she said she doesn’t really cook and I nodded in understanding.
The kitchen looks great! If I could just suggest that you put some cushions on the banc - like with that awesome mud cloth that you used for your bedroom, it would be PERFECT!

Tip: Do not put olive oil in a clear bottle. It will go bad and taste bitter. Use a dark glass instead which will protect the oil from any UV sunlight
Try going to Spain where all homemade olive oil is put into clear bottles and tastes better than any oil you’ll buy in most stores

That's only if you leave it out in the sunshine for months, so for most people, it's fine
I have always kept my olive oil in a clear bottle and I can assure you that it does not taste bitter lol
Put reusable bags in trunk so you have them ready when u go to store and save lots of save in your kitchen

The bottom of my kitchen sink use to look like that. I ended up buying an organizer for under the sink and it holds a lot of kitchen supplies cleaning items etc.
The whole space is beautiful.
I love it! When my reusable bags get out of control I will use some as gift bags
oo thats such a good idea because some of them are really nice 💕
@@XOMaCenna Exactly and people I give them to appreciate getting a reusable bag instead of one they end up throwing away
It looks really good!! I know me and I would have placed a huge tall plant in that breakfast nook because there's so much sun and some cushions on the bench. I would sit there and enjoy my morning coffee & be blessed ❤
Maybe she could still add a hanging plant!
Idk where you find the time or energy to all of this in one day lol 😭😭😭
Hahah I designed it, shopped and ordered online for about a week and the. I just put it all together in one day! I’m always exhausted after though for sure!!!
I would love to see you redo a front porch and possibly more outdoor ideas like a patio? You have great taste!
Just a small tip from a Mediterranean, don't keep olive oil in clear glass exposed to sunlight like that cause it damages it. Xoxo
This looks so good!! The subway contact paper really took it to the next level. If you wanted some more light or that breakfast nook to look bigger you could put a mirror on one of those shelves!
Beautiful!!! Im new to your channel. Its actual December, 2019, and im trying to catch up on all your videos.
Black Appliance make it look cold and Metall to!You did a Exellent Job with the Rug and Chairs Its on Earth-color,nice and warm, the wood helping a Lot 😍😍💜💜👍👍
I really wanna move out now, so I can decorate rooms!!!
Yassss!!! So much fun!! 🤗
Love these changes; you have a way of pulling it all together! Btw if you had cut some slits in the contact paper going under the table it wouldn’t be bunched up. Just a little trick I learned . Happy birthday Kinsley
I've come to the conclusion that it is absolutely impossible to get on Pinterest with a strict mission... to not hop on and just robotically scroll would be like goals to stay alive without the actual act of breathing.
I LOVE THAT RUG SO MUCH IT HURTS ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ lol not even kidding
Damn, apparently I'm having one of those dramatic-ass-female kinda moments between Pinteresty passion and...THE PERFECT RUG(!!!) in all it's gloriously perfect color scheme, pattern, style, size... ooo ya know, just possibly everything. ♡
Very cool XO, MaCenna, I'm so glad you took down that shelf, that was not doing it for me either. I absolutely love the subway tile wallpaper, it took that kitchen up a notch! LOVE IT. Also, love the watercolors.
Store bags in your car and you'll always have them when needed.
you did a fantastic job,i think u should play with the idea of a couple matching pillows on the bench against the wall so it looks more i dont know comfy when u walk in or if someones sittin on ur couch or whatever, but i love it the colors the tile shelves table all looks really nice.
(: Happy Birthday Kinsley!!!!!! .... 🍁❤
She says thank you 🐶💕🤗

(: And she is welcome!!!!! ... ❣❤
love the subway tile contact paper. Also the contact paper with hair dryer tip.
😌U are bomb! This was Iike watching an HGTV show! Everything looks so good!
Wow thank you so much 😘💕
You really are super talented. I do not know how I have not seen your channel before but I am here to stay!
Thanks so much 💕 welcome to the fam!
It looks great! I love how the contact paper on the table turned out. I feel like when I see others use it, it looks so janky and fake. How do you not have more followers?!
I am a huge fan of the watercolor paintings behind the table! You completely transformed this space as usual!
I love everything except you have too much stuff on the countertops.
I was thinking the same! Lol. So pretty but how can you actually cook with all the pretty stuff on the counters? But then she said she doesn’t really cook and I nodded in understanding.
Seriously? That's your opinion, not a fact.
The kitchen looks great! If I could just suggest that you put some cushions on the banc - like with that awesome mud cloth that you used for your bedroom, it would be PERFECT!
