I got some of the same results from playing the ball a few rounds. I have traditionally lofted clubs and the lower spin actually made my proximity to the pin better. I play in yhe US and alot of Bermuda greens and fairways, so stopping vs spinning is a plus. Thanks Dan for the great content I really like the product reviews.
Good review, Danno! The lower spin numbers you're seeing for both these models are a bit of a correction from the previous generation of RB and RB-X, which were VERY high-spinning balls. Mizuno seems to have brought compression down and firmed up the cover a bit. But you would expect to eke out a few more yards from that formula, which you didn't see. That may have something to do with the dimple pattern - these have a far lower dimple count than other tour balls, I think around 270 or so. You can see it on the ball -the dimples look HUGE! I'll have to try a sleeve and see what they do.
Dan, really good review, your video quality and sound has really improved. I have tried both balls and liked the X, it had a feel that was similar to the Titleist the I use. I also liked the price very similar to the Trufeel?
Great unbiased testing. I would never have considered the Mizuno brand for golf balls. The ones I’ve found on the course have always seemed too hard and budget in feel. The difficulty for such brands to break through is getting them into people’s hands to build up a following. Titleist, Calloway and others are too strong.
I played the RB Tour X for a couple of years, while the price was $32 per dozen. When they reached $40 per dozen, I returned to the Kirkland 3 pc. BTW, the Mizuno RB Tour balls are actually the old Nike tour balls, or at least produced in the former Nike ball factory.
Many, many years ago I had the opportunity to visit a well known sporting goods manufacturer in the US at their golf ball manufacturing site. The production line spewed out golf balls like shelling peas, at the end of the line the balls were diverted into different channels where they were marked with different companies logos and packaged in company specific boxing. I’m not saying that is what Mizuno have done here and that their balls are in fact made by a competitor/supplier but if you consider the investment needed to set up a production facility to produce golf balls in such a cost sensitive field then it does ask a question!
interesting you saw the spin numbers down, I've played a couple of rounds with the RB and I found it waaaay too spinny....I have nothing to measure it by, but I had mid-low irons coming up short of my usual landing zones, wedges more often than not ripping back too far, and found the driver really ballooned on me, especially into the wind....they do feel great though, no question there, but not the ball for me (my gamer is the *OnCore Elixr* , BTW)
Nice review Dan. Big question would I buy them to replace the tp5 I currently use? No. The reason, I reckon I use the best ball now. With your spin numbers off the 7 iron I doubt I could better them so as distance is not paramount for my game, feel and spin is, I doubt they would offer me anything extra.
I've been using the Mizuno Tour X balls for a while now and really can't feel much of a difference from the Srixon Z Stars I'd used before. Really nice quality balls. And since you can find these around £35 they are a sharp price as well.
I love these balls. Bought 2 dozen of the silver boxed tour on Amazon for $32 a dozen. Wish Id bought more. I think they have gave me more distance off the tee. But dont have data to back up, just same playing partners.
I know you don’t like to talk prices, because of future reference and all, but once we start comparing premium balls, prices relative to the prov1/x are a factor. Thanks for bringing alternatives to our attention.
After spending the year flirting with different balls (all Pro V esq) a lot comes down to brand loyalty and the majority of amateurs would not be able to tell the difference… saying the it’s titleist all the way for me 😂😂
The durability is surprising. When the first generation of these balls were released, the performance was amazing, but it wouldn't take long for the ball to become badly scuffed.
I’m playing the RB Tour from last year. The cover wear is not great. The reviews seem to indicate that this year’s version is better with respect to the durability of the cover.
I use the cheaper RB566V, £22 a dozen, they are good no spin data but for a 18 handicap they stop on the green, soft feel and good driver. Yes Mizuno balls fly under the radar (not the track man 😜)
I’ve used mizuno balls in the past. The spin was unreal would stop on a dime. But…………. They cut up too easy. Out of the bunker it just ripped the cover to bits
£10 per dozen cheaper than a ProV1 .. but still too expensive for me. I'll stick to the ProV1's that I find around the course, seems like most people play with them for whatever reason!
Got to be honest, they are the best new ball around. I’m off the pro v now and fully onto mixing rb tour. Better than the x in my opinion. I’ve dropped 3 shots in 2 months down to 4 now. I believe the ball has helped no end
So much to consider. Thank goodness for an unbiased review which is what Dan gives us.
Great review Dan, with good data and objective opinions. I would definitely play these.

Nice review dan. It's good to see a review of a ball that most won't try and will just stick with the big names like titleist
Great video Dan 👍 Really appreciate this. I’d give them a go over my pro v1x
Love the music Dan and still loving the videos
Can’t wait for the course vlogs to be back
Loved the music on this one. Dan's extreme ball reviews

Nice solid review.
I'm sure mygolfspys ball test had the mizunos and Kirkland's as the spinniest ball on the market!
I can only go on what I find during my testing 👍
Could you include full wedge shots in ball tests please?👍🏻

That's awesome, those were/still are good balls! I have a couple Nike balls I've found in the woods I still use!
Love mizuno golf balls I have used the basic ones good quality
Love these golf balls.
I found 1 on the course a while ago ,got to say I found it really good 🏴👌⛳
🤟🤟 rock is good bro

Which sporting goods manufacturer was that, and which companies' logos were put onto the balls?
It's a Mizuno ball, with a unique dimple pattern.
interesting you saw the spin numbers down, I've played a couple of rounds with the RB and I found it waaaay too spinny....I have nothing to measure it by, but I had mid-low irons coming up short of my usual landing zones, wedges more often than not ripping back too far, and found the driver really ballooned on me, especially into the wind....they do feel great though, no question there, but not the ball for me (my gamer is the *OnCore Elixr* , BTW)
Dan you let us down😮 you missed a putt 😂😂
I still say my game needs to improve before I spend much more than 15 quid on 12 Callaway warbirds, which is my ball of choice at the moment.

Just googled that my self between £31 and £37 ...
@@kevmoore2148 that’s pretty competitive
Target for next year keep a ball for 2 rounds🙂. I don't mind the music🤣
Spin numbers a little low but the stopping power was very good
Bloody hell Dan you missed a putt 😂👍
After spending the year flirting with different balls (all Pro V esq) a lot comes down to brand loyalty and the majority of amateurs would not be able to tell the difference… saying the it’s titleist all the way for me 😂😂
Are these new releases? Surely got to mention price?
I used to play proV1 but I swear that this ball for the $$$$ is the closest you can get to the prov1. LOVE MIZUNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How do these compare price wise to Vice Pro and Plus?
The durability is surprising. When the first generation of these balls were released, the performance was amazing, but it wouldn't take long for the ball to become badly scuffed.
For durability I want to know how it copes with cart paths and trees….
😂
Better get Bernie to do the testing for those results 🤣🤣🤣
Why are your driver shots get 5 ING no rollout, even backing up?
Dan the music is horrendous NO PLEASE
How can mizuno make a ball look better than any other golf ball,it just does 🎉
Are they stronger lofted than your clubs? That would make sense of the spin numbers
T100s
Tried both of these were way to low spinning for me on the quad my pro just said throw them away

Are they dearer or cheaper than the ball you currently use???????? That’s a main factor for some of us .
I’ve used mizuno balls in the past. The spin was unreal would stop on a dime. But…………. They cut up too easy. Out of the bunker it just ripped the cover to bits

It doesnt seem to matter what ball i hit, they all end up lost lol
If you want to test for durability, bounce them off the cart path, or drive them into a tree. LOL! BTW, do they float?!?!
😂
A load of balls 😂
Bit off you can’t get these until Feb 2023
Got to be honest, they are the best new ball around. I’m off the pro v now and fully onto mixing rb tour. Better than the x in my opinion. I’ve dropped 3 shots in 2 months down to 4 now. I believe the ball has helped no end
tour x or regular tour?
@@jondifortnite7485 tour because I believed the x to lose distance. Should I go x ?
