Loki is a bit more smarter(or rather has more info) than MCU Tony Stark at this moment, but Tony Stark's IQ is much higher, for example, it didn't even take him a year to invent time machine. Tony's ability to understand and learn anything is unreal, so if he were in place of Loki, it might've taken him less than a century(at the most) to learn everything regarding this.
Loki isn't necessarily a 'super-smart character' in Marvel if compared to the other geniuses. Many centuries are a sufficient amount of time to learn everything about a topic. Tony is probably oblivious to this amount of information regarding timelines and realities(on a very, very larger scale)

If loki protect the multiverse from external threat then, why we see in Dr.Strange Madness of Multiverse end credit scene where incursion (different universe collide together) is started and that Lady seek help from Dr. Strange to Stop this not from Loki.

Here's a thing this loki after spending centuries got knowledge of temporal loom how it works and now loki becomes a living temporal loom who is guiding time branches to actual kind of branch while previous temporal loom guiding branches towards a thread form which limiting it .

Victor timely in season 6 said that the timelines are increasing infinitely and temporal loom can't handle it so loki handles them and these lines are still increasing (cuz of free will branches will increase) so till what extent would loki be able to manage all these time lines ? And if loki will not be able to handle them at some point who will manage them and keep them safe?
Also since now loki is handling timelines at the end of the time he can observe every variant of he who remains so he can (if not eliminate them) warn the tva about them?

And i got theory as well, like sacred timeline loki never dead in the first place (remember loki S1 ep5 where classic loki **old man loki** explained how he survived the Thanos attack and later on went to live in a void). So the sacred timeline loki did the same and and wanda survived as well. Some how they'll figure it out all the caos that loki's varient did. They went on to confront him which basically causes the event of incursions and then we see different varients of loki basically **council of loki** battle for the ultimate power And at that point of time we see GOD OF STORIES LOKI and we can see the post credit scene of Dr. Strange where he went on with clea tho solve all the incursion event!
