Luke, you ought to have "served your time" on that ban by now. And anyway you show respect for forklift drivers, without whom the transport sector could not operate .
Exactly I’m going to call in there and speak to some of the management as I have lots of freinds in the area and it’s actually quite an embarrassing position to take over hurty words ffs
This is how to strap a load. Chaos on the A34 this morning small pick up truck did not. Half his load in the right hand lane. Cops with him further up in the right hand lane. Opps.
if bumps are too extreme for a truck to get over, they are certainly too high, am sure if enough haulers complained/refused to go, or started chasing for damages, theyd soon remove them. there a litteral legal limit to them on public roads partly for this reason.
@@lukecinahgv years gone by the mesh used to be covered in a soap like substance when it was being manufactured so was extremely slippery.Doesnt happen anymore so straps are fine for it,never heard of any1 chaining mesh,it settles to much for chains to be of any use,source:- Ive worked with mesh and rebar for over 20 years :)
Get the lads to take the trailer in with the shunter so you don’t damage the truck. Also if you ask nicely they will tip the trailer over night if you drop it
I would have 4 on stack 2 pulling either way especially on new mesh rusty mesh doesn't move as much as shiny new mesh but it's up to the individual . It's easier to put on extra rather than pick it up or get it put right
Any company banning a driver, the drivers company should then say ok and not take any work coming in and out of that yard. They will soon stop this banning lark.
Its a hell of a lot easier to pass the FLT test than a C+E, i have done both, and its your absolute responsibility to correctly secure a load. what kind of employer allows their people to "ban" someone, they need to get a grip.
You need to get your editor to fill in the watch next and suggested boxes at the end of the video Luke they're always blank and black,or just delete them
Luke, what is the longest demurrage time you have had? Mine has been 4 days to unload a USA Army munitions ship about 10 years ago. Think it was for Thailand, Australia, USA military exercises.
That banned place luke obviously they dont have a H & S dept !! If a newbie had a YT and took them at thier word and something terrible happened THEY could be done for corporate manslaughter 😡 as a class 1 myself im f@@@@@@ furious, did you get the words 'you only need 4 straps' on film......THE DRIVER IS RESPONSIBLE SO I WOULDNT MOVE UNTILL YOU(AS A DRIVER) ARE SATISFIED...AS YOU KNOW..KEEP CLACKALACKIN.😊
I agree with Bambitheman. However, why not knock on the door, and ask if its ok for you to park up there, explaining about the safety aspect. Its surprising how majority of people would be quite ok with it. They can only say no
Can drive 9hrs a day max but can extend that to 10hrs but only twice a week. Max of 56hrs in a week and 90hrs in a fortnight. Can only drive for 4.5hrs before taking a break of 45mins. In terms of rest must take 11hrs off per day but can reduce to a minimum of 9hrs rest three times a week. Anything under 11hrs counts as one of the three reductions. In practice this means you can work up to 15hrs three days a week but can then only work 13hrs max on the other days.
Im in a ridged Scania cracked my fuel tank 3 times in a couple of weeks but i do get sent to some right stupid places ive started to say no to any drop where im going to scrape....
I find it mind blowing that in 2024 a company can ban a delivery driver from site. As a business owner it wouldn’t even cross my mind to speak to a courier or haulage company about their driver unless they had done something dangerous or had refused to pickup the load, and even then I would just call to ask them to give more safety training or to find out the problem. I actually thought it was illegal to try and blacklist people nowadays.
Getting banned for being concerned for safety of others is absolutley rediculous. shame on the place and the specifically the manager who banned you. good video mate stay safe yourself.
Yep, all because they said 4 straps were enough and I uploaded a video saying “do they want me to kill someone” Admittedly, not the best title, and actually only called that for about 20 minutes or so before I changed it, but someone from the place saw it, commented and got into an argument with me I believe. Said I would be banned from there. I probably laughed at him, and he’s next thing I know, I turned up, waited 30 minutes before someone came over and said “no one wants to load you” All because of a safety concern. Company in question really ought to be thanking me for bringing it to their attention. As a driver it’s OUR responsibility to ensure the load is safe. Not there’s. They shouldn’t be giving advice or saying how to strap it up because it’s got nothing to do with them.
@@lukecinahgv absolutley, could also end up in a tragedy if a newer driver got that advice and they just take them on their word that "its enough" and in reality that day it might not be enough and it could have been prevented if they had just used another strap. I wish you the best mate.
think he or she wwas referring to the place ur banned from i really feel they went overboard by banning u after all safety first although u cud try ringin them n apologise for putting safety before hypothetical potential disaster
you got banned for stating some think was not safe. its easy to say just 4 straps when your not the one taking the shit for it when its fell off the back.
I agree mate. Got 2 in the bank ready to go but been super busy with my personal life. Hoping to edit one this weekend and maybe upload before next weekend.
I make more money making the videos then I do driving the truck. I make the videos to support my family. If you feel the need to sell someone a prat, that says more about you then it does me David 👍🏻

Hello from denmerk i AM a big fan
I AM a HGV driver my self and follow you live on the road in UK
Higher the truck again! 😂 You spoke good England!😂🤣👍
Great video as always

I've tried getting banned from every drop East of Swindon.
I must try harder 😊
Nice one Luke, thanks 👍👍

You need plenty straps on that load , we used to drop some timbers down the gaps if it was possible and always chain it , slips like hell !
Which load mate? I’m assuming the mesh? I’ve done mesh quite abit now. Haven’t had any shift yet.

OOh i like your style lol ha ha ha.
Hi luke great video again keep trucking and stay safe mate
They need to paint some lines on that bump. It blends in and is very hard to see
Those bumps and that bridge are deadly going round to Hyten and Ev Cargo
Would it not be worth getting pre prepped healthy meals of a prep company instead of paying even more expensive service station prices ?
I can confirm them speed bumps are massive

To be fair to you two straps for a load like that would not just be stupid it would be incredibly dangerous

No yellow lines and no restrictions on HGV'S means you are perfectly entitled to park there.
HGV'S what? HGVs, plural. Why the apostrophe?
nice shield on the back in the cabin but please move that hook on the left behind the shield, looks a bit clumsy
Another great video
Nice one Luke 😂😂😂😂😂❤
Hi Luke, on the A47 towards kings Lynn this morning, I spotted a harry & Sons lorry, pretty sure the logo said Wisbech. Am I seeing things.

A very good Monday morning to you all
You use different strap tie downs than they use in the US
Seen you with the first load heading back south on the M6 last week
Timed perfect just thought id check for a vid and bang up it pops
*perfectly. It's an adverb.
if they got cctv recording over their borders you can screw them for invasion of privacy
Ok Again good going but why do I always have to look out your video ,now three days old?
What is your driving restriction in the UK. Here they are only allowed for 14 hours on duty and 10 hours driving
13 hours duty and 9 hours driving

3x 15hrs with 2-3 x13hrs on duty 2x 10hr max drive, rest max 9hrs,
Hey Luke.maybe this is a private question, but how much are you payed after tax every month?
From driving a truck around £2600 after tax.
Let me get this right? Banned you the driver for waniting to be safe after trying to dictate how to secure a load on the truck you're driving??
"waniting"?
👍👍🚛
How does it work if you've had your 45min break before your 4.5 hour drive???
Your 4.5 hours starts again
