Excellent review as always Darryl! I never found myself comfotable with 35mm lenses and prefer 50mm and 58mm focal lenghts, but this lens here looks really interesting, although a bit pricey.
Hey mate, hope things are going well in Japan. It's not a cheap lens, but it has a crazy fast aperture 😉 The Nikon 58mm f/1.4 lens was my fav portrait lens when I was shooting Nikon.

Nice and simple review Darryl, would you recommend this lens for video over the Meike 35mm T2.1
Hey Paul, I would go with the Meike Cine lens, yes its not as fast as the LAOWA lens but its designed for Video work and the focus is really smooth, it has focus and iris gear rings built-in .... I have a new cine lens from Meike for Canon R mount, working on the review now.

That lens on a c70 and a 0.71x speedbooster should be crazy ! Next time find better subject to film. Boats are boring and you can't see the shallow Dof
Hey Mate, sadly this will not work with the 0.71 speed booster as it’s a RF mount lens and not an EF mount

QUESTION: what are your thoughts on shooting in 35mm (cropped). In my film and media class my professor keeps mentioning 35mm, is it better than full frame for that cinematic look?
You mean that he keeps mentioning shooting on super 35? Super 35 is what they are naming cropped sensor.
