To this day, I’ve never seen this film. I just rewatched this trailer over and over again on my other VHS tapes. I think the combination of “Dreams” by The Cranberries and the clacky sound of the voices in the recording made it very relaxing. Now it’s so sweet and nostalgic to hear!
As a guy who grew up in the 80s and 90s, It's amazing to me how watchable these "chick flicks" are for guys - even the teen ones. My Girl was a phenomenal movie. Kids movies in general had so much effort put into them until we started getting into the late 90s and everything went CG. Storytelling and character development went out the window in favour of bad computer animation in a live action movie. But those late 80s early 90s movies knew how to take a PG movie and make it awesome. Now, the modern answer to a PG movie is Frozen. Yeah, I think we're going in the wrong direction.
I feel like kids today really missed out. The 90s really was the best time to be a kid. You had technology but not so much that it consumed every fiber of your being. And there was no spending $100 on primer and lipstick and contouring a whole new face. If you dyed your hair, it was behind your mom's back at a friend's house and you got grounded for it. You had a crush on a guy with frosted tips and you were super cool with your Lisa Frank rainbow tiger folders and of course, you needed a trapper keeper for all your pencils and whatnots. I really miss the time before social media. It's ruined us. We see other people's fictionalized reality and so we hate our own.
I've seen The Babysitters Club Movie a number of times, and I think it's still a great movie! I bought it in VHS in 1998, and I've found it enjoyable ever since. It's got an excellent array of iconic actors from the 1990s, and everything about the movie is to me perfection.
If I remember correctly, the actress playing Dawn was in 10 Things I Hate About You four years later. She also went to Sarah Lawrence, the college Kat wanted to attend in that movie. Apparently she didn't foresee herself getting the role of Bianca, Kat's younger sister because she didn't see herself as a dude magnet.
@@sajmeister Yes, I did watch it! I liked how they kept the most important things the same, but adapted the BSC for the world today. It was really great!
@@alexiwhite5400 I still need to see that, cos I have seen this film but never saw the early 90s series, I don't think we got it here in the UK. But will check it out now, I remember renting this film from the local library in 1996/1997 I think. Great times!
I watched this movie in the theater when I was a teenager with my sister. I just found out that the guy that played Luca in this film was Christian Oliver he died with his two daughters in a plane crash in St. Vincent Caribbean Island along with the pilot so sad in the beginning of this New Year 2024. I remember being obsessed with reading the Babysitters Club books in middle school and getting the 1995 movie version on DVD! This and the Netflix reboot are the two best book to film/tv series adaptations of this legendary series in my opinion!
This trailer came out when i was ten and I fell in love with the first song but never knew the band or the song name. It stayed in my head as a mystery for 8 years until I went away to college. That first semester the fall concert was featured Better Than Ezra. Full circle moment
My mom would take me to Barnes and nobles and buy all of the books and I was a little book worm in my room for days reading them. I loved this series and movies and now my daughter reads the books and we watch the Netflix series. 😊
Surprised this movie tanked so hard in theaters, didn't even clear $10 million (and was released in summer!) There was a lot of promotion for it, I remember seeing the trailer a lot on TV and posters displayed all over the malls. Wonder what happened? I didn't see it until it came to VHS, and while it was by no means a classic, it was an endearing movie.
Ahhh the child Hood memories I have to mention 🙃 I created "flyers" saying I had a baby sitters club and ended up looking after some baby when I was about 9 years old!!! I can't beleive the stupidity! but .. The memories 😆😆😆

I read that Tricia Joe who played Claudia was killed in a car accident in 2021. I searched for more information, but I found nothing to prove that she really did die. None of her former cast mates have mentioned her passing. Does anyone know for sure if she passed away?
I always wanted to read all 150 books, plus the extras, but there was no way of getting hold of them. I'm not sure if I would enjoy them now. You can buy random ones second hand. Pretty sure the writer was trying to give teens a free childcare course by including babysitting tips in each book.
Sissy Spacek (Schuyler Fisk's mother) could have gone for a role in this film, as it would have given her an opportunity to star alongside her daughter.
You can't mimic the early 90s. Especially children/tweens in the 90s and you lived through it, you get it. No amount of Hollywood money can make a show or movie look legitimately like it did in the early 90s.
Wow, I loved this book series as a kid. Growing up, it made me have the grand idea that I could watch other people's kids. I think back on that now and Im both in shock that parents let a 13 yr old stranger watch their kids, and totally believe it because back then, mom's didn't think twice about throwing their kids to anyone for a cheap rate and going out for the night, lol. One night I took care of 7 children and got paid 20 for it. Don't feel sorry for me, it was a lesson learned: realize your value and know what your worth or someone will make those decisions for you. 😂. Ah, more innocent times.
Ok, but suspension of belief aside, who hires pre-teens to watch little kids? They're little themselves. Plus, I love how people in movies hire complete strangers to do this in real life. No interview or background check, just "hey, here's complete access to my kid, stranger".
@@BooneEricaumm yeah. I’m way more capable of taking care of a kid now than I was as a 10-13 year old. You think a preteen can cook a meal, perform cpr, know all the dangers around the house, or know what to do in an emergency situation? Also a preteen CANT EVEN DRIVE TO THE HOSPITAL. There’s a reason that when girls have children at their age.... the grandmother always ends up taking care of the baby. Because the girls have no idea what they are doing.
