The bible also says
"Our Father, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven" am sure we do read this everyday
God has called us Sons and secondly again .
Now we can boldly call God Father .
I'm sure Jesus the Tax Collectors where pursuing Him too (Let's be Guilded that what is called lie will be Truth,)
But that didn't make Jesus Less of God .
He borrowed everything he needed for the work.
See when the thing is needed for the ministry we get it , owned or not , that doesn't reduce my identity in Christ .
The bible says he will provide for the work but never stated how he will ( most times we pastor we do use human wisdom when it comes to finances ) ( And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus)
It's never stated how the needs will come but at same time those guys that do borrow is totally wrong but at same time you don't use that to describe sons that have not understood their identity when it comes to their financial Blessings right .
and also you spoke about the host of heaven coming to his aid when he calls that we are just servants who might not be needed but same bible in Genesis stated that. (Gen. 1 Verses 26 to 31
[26] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.).
So if the creations where to be the servant then he won't have Created us in his image and likeness, just like wasting resources ( in your home if you have substitute for something why waste your time traveling far to get that one thing , you traveling far means you value it ) this same value God place on us as sons . Same bible says
For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God - Romans 8: 19.
So are you saying same creations waiting for the manifestation are the same creations that are more powerful?
We are the exact representation even far before the fall .
God had always had need for Man .
And why will you tell me Satan is not against the plans of God (" Satan is not fighting God") Satan has always fought the plans of God even from the Begining (Reading Job and Genesis will show us that ) .
Bible says "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it."
Bible has clearly make the difference (Lust, Lies etc" comes from the devil).
"He that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." ( 1 John 3 vs 8) So the devil is not his servant , God is not ambushed seeing the devil fighting his work ( except there is other definition for fighting)
Satan is the opposer and he will always be the opposer

Please can you shed more light on the the sons of God being at the bottom of the food chain as regards servanthood. Because the scripture in Eph 3:10 NIV is coming to mind - that his intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

How man is not in the bottom of the chain .

And also there won't be a second Adam if the first didn't sin , so how do we define that .

That state you just described, God created man in his own image & this same man FELL from the top down to the very bottom of the chain where even death was above him in the hierarchy. This is the state we remain in until the day we receive Christ IN HIM that's where we are redeemed to be above where God intended. We remain there ONLY as we remain in Christ failure to understand this is what has given birth to doctrines like the "Once saved Always saved" doctrine yet 2Peter 2:21 describes people who found salvation and lost their salvation through returning to sin & says their end would be worse than their beginning. "It would have been better if they had never known the way of the Lord"
It's even clearer in 1Cor9:27 when Paul maintained he disciplines himself least after having preached to other he himself would be cast away. Man FELL & remains fallen till he finds Christ, should he depart from Christ he goes back to the fallen state, this is the point made by that prophet in his message.

How can the fallen man be the servant of God.
The fallen man is an enemy to God, they have no place in the Body of Christ because they aren't save .
He was talking about the servant of God and not the fallen man of course looking at his statement.
"Mankind" that was his word, there is difference between the man in Christ and a man not in Christ and also from your statement we that is in Christ are above the chain he spoke about .
No man is a Servant of God except is in Christ .
God doesn't use a man outside Christ , like calling him a servant .
Paul called himself a bondservant , so this describe who the servant is and not a none believer.

The problem is many read the bible but don't go deeper in revelation.
Many Christians fight Satan and call him darkness but the same bible says God dwell in tick darkness 1 Kings 8 psalm 18:11 1 Samuel 22.
Why will God say he dwell there and at the same time James 1:17 says he is the Father of all light.

The question you should be asking is why does he dwell in thick darkness and who made that statement and from what perspective was he seeing from.
David was the one who made the statement in Psalm 18:11 and some other places in the book of psalm, this were all metaphors to show you how obscure God was from not just man but also from creation even Angels.
God dwelling in thick darkness simply means he could not be known or understood by mere human mind. It is also parallel with the scriptures in 1Tim 6:16: "Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen."
The fact that no man could approach it was the purpose why Christ came, to make him that was invisible to become visible to man and all creation. Even creation in itself carry bits of divine expression of the invisible God.
Col 1:15: "Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:"
Rom 1:20: "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"
So God is now longer a mystery because we see Him clearly through Christ. Do we know all things yet, No but will we come into the fullness of His knowledge, Yes. That's the beauty and glory of eternal life.
Eph 4:13: "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:"
What is the measure of the fullness of the stature of Christ?
It is the fullness of the Father because Christ Jesus is the full, complete and express manifestation of the Father (Heb 1:2-3). Therefore, the destiny of every believer to also come into this same STATURE that Jesus has attained.
