Kirby 64 and Mass Attack aren't included because this video is a compilation of the classic recurring Invincible Candy themes and leitmotifs. By the way, Kirby and the Forgotten Land's version is so amazing!
When I heard this theme in the ending of Forgotten Land, my heart seriously skipped a beat 😳 This truly is Kirby’s “Unstoppable Hero” theme, as I call it ❤
I love the angle that Forgotten Land took with its music. For instance, Forgotten Land is the only game since Squeak Squad to never directly reuse music (outside of the memory book). And using one of the series' most iconic and heart-pounding themes as an arrangement for the final weapon theme? APPRECIATE THIS GAME'S OST NOW.
Well, there are some spinoffs that don't directly reuse music (e.g. Mass Attack, Battle Royale (not counting the "Other Games" music)). And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 99% sure that Return to Dream Land also didn't directly reuse music (not counting Kirby GameCube)
forgot about that sub-game tbh (because who remembers the sub-games of RtDL), and I just remembered the Battle Royale does use the original Fighters Deluxe Title Theme, and Return of Meta Knight and Brothers in Arms from Planet Robobot also, if not counting the anime, then Rainbow Curse doesn't directly reuse anything.
I know we’re all talking about Forgotten Land’s version, but can we appreciate the editing here? Each version transitions so smoothly into the next. I was listening without looking at the video at first and missed the first transition entirely.
At first, it's mostly more or less the same (though there are some obvious differences). And then we get to the "Modern" Kirby games (Return to Dreamland - present), and it's like: "It's faster now!!! No, wait, it's slower. And now it's some calm music to relax to 😌. PSYCH!!! IT HAS DRUMS NOW!!!! _AND_ A GUITAR!1!!!!!11!!!!"!1!! And then it's finally an actual song, which is awesome.
I absolutely LOVE how each theme seemed like it was slowly building up, almost like a beat drop. The way that the nightmare in dreamland/amazing mirror to the squeak squad sounded like it was right about to blow you out of the water, right before getting to all the wild tracks the modern brought (Yes I know super star ultra was there, but I’d call it just a slight tweak of the original)
FORGOTTEN LAND SPOILERS (Though you shouldn't be watching this video if you're avoiding those) . . . Hearing this in such an incredible arrangement for the ending gave me life. What a finale, and best use of this track.
Full-Speed Farewell From the New World bangs so unbelievably hard it’s one of my favorite video game themes of all time (along with Sword of The Surviving Guardian and a bunch of Pokémon music)
Gotta love how all of them sound basically the same but most of them are upgrades from the previous one as they were on better and more capable consoles or song direction just upgraded the other one
there’s a remix of the invincibility theme in the anime, too! it plays during the pappy pottey episode when they’re all flying on brooms. i don’t think it’s been released individually, though
As soon as I saw this new video grace my feed when it was uploaded, prior to me playing The Forgotten Land, I figured the latest Kirby game had to have done something to the Invincibility Candy theme. Beat it a couple of days ago and to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The rendition in the final battle is amazing of course, but even without it, I really love the normal version as well.
Since Kirby and the Forgotten Land was my first Kirby game, (it was just comin' out, so i said: why not?) I like to associate this theme with the Fecto Elfilis boss fight, so I imagine its old themes as remixes, tho they're not.
I like how the modern kirby games take the theme that playes when you get the special item from the game, and adds kirby's, the game's, and the boss's lite motif, but mouthful mode had no such song. So they used invincible candy for it
Fun fact: In Kirby's Dreamland, if you power up with the Invincibility Candy and stand in the Shotzo, you can destroy it after a few seconds. I did it myself when I played.
0:33 Kirby's DreamLand 3's invincible is such a suger rush of a bop it's really gives that feeling that you can do anything! probably the same vibe as forgotten land i wish it was notice more tbh ps: i do like the other ones as well but DreamLand 3 just speaks to me (some how lol)
Kirby: Canvas Curse is one of the only Kirby spinoff games in which the Invincible Candy is absent. Ironically, its “spiritual successor” Kirby and The *Rainbow* Curse DOES come with the Invincible Candy
Kirby has a stress-free life. Once in a while some trouble comes along, but then life returns, sometimes he brings home new friends. And he's just a baby.
Here's how I would rate them. Dreamland 1: Sounds nice. Adventure: Similar to Dreamland 1, but with added instruments that improve it. Super Star: Sounds even better than the last 2! Dreamland 3: Sounds pretty good and similar to how 64 could've sounded like had it used a more traditional invincibility theme. Tilt 'n' Tumble: This feels like an improvement from Adventure since this is on GBC, but not as good as Super Star or Dreamland 3. Nightmare in Dreamland/Amazing Mirror: Major step up from Adventure and gives you the want to run around. Squeak Squad: Just the one from NID/AM, but higher quality since it's on DS. Super Star Ultra: Not sure if I can call this an improvement over Super Star because I like both. Return to Dreamland: Even better than all the ones before this one. Giving you even more of a want to run around than ever before. Triple Deluxe/Planet Robobot: Sounds alright for what it is. Not super amazing or anything, but pretty cute. Rainbow Curse: I like the instrument choice here, even slowing down the tempo to fit the aesthetics of the game's art style. However, it just doesn't scream "I want to run around destroying everything in my path" as much as the other ones do. Star Allies: I like the upbeat nature of this one. Forgotten Land: This one is even better than all the other ones before it, even Return to Dreamland's version! I also really love the electric guitars in this one. Big Rig Mouth: Legendary. Just. Legendary. What more needs to be said? Extra: This was a stage theme? Fine I guess.
I can't believe 14 games with the same concept (except tilt and tumble and rainbow curse and forgotten land) have the same great tune. just for a power up.
The Forgotten Land ending was phenomenal no matter what, but I firmly believe it would not have been half as hype if the theme during the big rig bit was anything else
