Loved this. We have Vov booked at our jazz festival this year so I thought I would do some research. When I read about his ‘fastest violinist’ I was kinda dubious. Can’t wait to watch the man in action.
I mean actually he's fine in violin and it is ok to mess up on tv cause everybody makes mistakes. But the thing is, when you know you performed bad, you better shut up but not defending your bad attempt and self-claim it is recognised

I was wondering, what happened to your other Twoset videos? I was able to access the playlist but I haven't been able to find the one about Twoset's humor going too far...
i think a lot of the newspaper takes are typical small- paper exaggeration bs. they do this with everyone, not just vov lol. people writing these small scale articles (I doubt any of this publicity is from a larger publication like the strad or even a larger newspaper) don’t usually care too much about what they’re doing or know much about music specifically, so they tend to perpetuate this narrative of innate talent when it comes to musicians because that’s what the general public likes and it’s easy to write. hell, even classic fm, which is ostensibly more musician oriented (it isn’t really, but you know), exaggerates things a lot because it gets views. It’s also likely vov wasn’t personally involved in a lot of these examples and they took it from a short summary from his website or agent or whatever that being said his website is a bit of a mess but from personal experience it seems fairly typical for someone in his league (small- gig adult contemporary/soft jazz cruise ship player) and he won’t have trouble attracting _that_ type of audience with it. And as a side note, from musician to musician I _really_ hope you are being sarcastic about rieu lmao (roses are red… oh you know)
He doesn't play anything like 22 notes per second. His rendition is awful, he skips notes and as for his attempt to play at normal speed that was a joke. He cannot play the violin that's for sure and he broke rule number 4 -- has to be recognisable as FOTBB. He was playing something but it sure wasnt that.

Ironically, in regards to the Titanic band shows, Vov has spent the last few months performing on cruise ships.
