Thank you so very much for sharing all of that information. It was a lot of information and I can tell you I am just starting to Tinker around with resin and got to the realization of the cost of multiple molds. My question for you is have you made your own silicone molds? I want to say I remember you mentioning you made a mold once or twice in your video. Have you made more than that? Do you find it more feasible to make them yourself vs buying all of them pre made from a third party? Or directly from a create or like you can on Etsy? If you have any contact information as to who/what type of brand silicone is best to purchase for making my own molds? I am quite impressed at your excitement about what you do and as I always tell young people, if you do what you love and can keep passion for doing so then you'll probably never work in the sense as we know work as a society today. The day you stop enjoying what you do and you can't remember WHY u do it, then that's the day you should start thinking about a different career path. Much love to you and once again thank you! ❤
I am just getting into physically creating resin crafts/art/decor/etc and have been doing HELLA research and watching reels and vids and reading up and this video has helped! The main thing that has contributed to my own future crafting is your honesty!!! I love that you were honest about what was easy versus what was difficult and what you would not spend your time on again! This is material that I have not yet seen with resin artists!! Thanks girl you are absolutely great.
Hey!! Oh my goodness what a sweet comment to receive! Thank you so much ❤️ if you ever need specific help please reach out to me on insta @megdionart, I’d be happy to help! I want to be honest to help anyone/prevent ppl from wasting time and money like I have haha! I’m so grateful you’re here and thank you again for all the love ❤️ I’m sending it right back ✨
To center the moons, trace it on a piece of paper, cut it out so that they are the same size. Fold the paper stencil in half and use that to know where to drill the eye pin holes. Hope this helps.
To center the moon pieces (or any other, for that matter), tape a piece of string on the back and dangle it until you find center mass, then make a mark where you need to drill the hole. Hope that helps a bit!
Been on the search for the notebook paper since I've watched your video and I have found A5, A6 and A7 paper on amazon just as long as the whole match what you're using, =) hope this was helpful! You're an inspiration!! Keep shining
hi i love u, u inspired me to start resin and i watch u all the time, also the paper i get it on amazon it seems ur are different than mine but u have a better chance of finding it on amazon than in stores
Hi!!! I love you too ❤️ thank you so much for watching me and I’m so glad I could inspire you in any way 🙏🏻✨ thank you for the advice about the paper!! 😘😘❤️❤️❤️
You are such a talented young lady and so ambitious. I LOVED seeing your molds. Many that you have I want to purchase. I am retired and took up doing resin with a silversmithing piece I was making. I instantly fell in love with this craft. I have been doing this for almost a year now. I can't believe how much stuff I have accumulated in this short time.....lol I started selling my items last summer and now I just started selling to 2 local gift shops. I am learning new things every day. I just found you on UA-cam and I am going to go watch more of your videos. BTW the way to do the weird pendant mold is to make the side with the waves or mountains and when it sets flip it upside down and put it into the other side of the mold ( you will be able to feel when it is at the correct angle), pour your resin over and when you take it out it will look like mountains or water. It is pretty cool. I made a few. Cheers :)
Hello! I make resin notebooks and I get my paper from an online shopping website. I usually search A5 inserts and make sure that the holes match my mould. Those work best for me!
I love your channel. I just popped up to say that I bought the light bulb molds a little bit ago and it was a little hard to figure out. They just kept lighting randomly. Lol. But the light thing at the bottom is like a tap light. You need to tap on the light bulb or sencer itself to trigger the senser. I hope that helps. If I didn't explain that right just let me know if you have any other questions 👍😁💕
Oh my goodness you are so adorable I have so many questions. How did you get lights in there I do have those small lights from Amazon the small fairy lights thinking that could be if we do used. Also on the moon one in an all them that have hangings how did you get them to hang none of my malls have a hole to hang them on, the stuff you made that you showed in this video is adorable and telling me about the shine in the mat you gave me a lot of information thank you sweetheart💞
This might be a little late but you could just use two chains for the moons. If you put one on each edge and they're the same length, there isn't much room to tilt.
What kind of resin do you use I love how your are so clear and beautiful and what’s the best molds to get and use I’m new at th sand want to start making resin ideas Thank you
Hiiii love this video … idk if this helps but you could get paper cutter or if you have cricut you could set the measurement to fit your notebook mold ….. or sheets also;your diy looks super cute 🥰
re the island mold, you colour layer into the smaller side first allow to set the put into the larger side and add resin you can also white cap using acrylic paint and stiff paintbrush on the island side
Thank You 🙏 for making this video. I am learning how to use resin to make jewelry. I am still having problems with the jump rings to add to the wire jewelry, but I hope to have a lot of resin molds. Have a good day.
I need to go look at your channel to see if you’ve done this…. A video on how to organize mold storage would be very helpful. Also suggestions on how to De-stash a mold collection of not useful molds other than putting them in landfills!
I’ve always used a small spray mister of rubbing alcohol on my resin to pop bubbles…. Has worked great so far… I was always hesitant about heat because the resin already gets hot …. Ur stuff is nice …. Amazon sells the sets of notebook filler for the a size molds By the way
U buy like I do 😅😅😅I still don't understand dimensions and yes some r so thin u can barely put anything in them.. I make earrings bookmarks switch plates I'm going to try the journal ones how cool.. I just love ur videos I get excited when I learn new things 😊😊

I was like “I wonder why she collects fungus, I guess I’ll still watch!” To then read the title and realize I’m so stupid because obviously you meant SILICONE MOLDS for your RESIN BUSINESS!!😂😂
HAHAHAHAHA THATS SO FUNNY 😂 I always thought it was spelled “mould” but whenever I go to buy molds on Amazon or Etsy it’s spelled “mold” but I totally thought the same thing and I’m still confused about the spelling tbh 🤣 thank you so much for being here and watching 🙏🏻❤️ also you were about to watch a fungus collection you’re a TRUE SUPPORTER 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for sharing this video. I was just thinking about my business and what direction I wanted to go in. I have made selective keychains and was thinking about doing more. This was definitely inspirational. Your creations are awesome!
The molds that look like land pieces you fill in only the layered one with either sand n resin or white or whatever... Once that fully cured you pop it out put it in the solid side then finish with your water color resin or a blendable color etc. (Dont mix resin for both sides at the same time) it takes time to make those.)

Hello, your resin products are amazing. Could I please ask if you use a polish to polish your coasters once they are set? If so what polish would you recommend?
Hi! Thanks for the video! I am new to the resin art would but I just love it! Question: I have the mold for the incense holder hands. Have you made a video on how to decorate it?
Thank you Meg! I am looking for a new vendor for molds. It seems that all that I get from Amazon have some sort of scratch or some other kind of markings in it. :(. BTW--do you ever have trouble with your resin items sticking to each other? My coasters stick together and I don't know how to prevent that. Any ideas?
Omg that sucks you’re receiving scratched molds! I’ve gotten some of my fav molds from shops on Etsy and then I also feel good about supporting fellow artists! I don’t have that problem but it sounds like your resin may not be curing properly. What brand do you use? Is your room a standard room temperature or is it fluctuating in temperature a lot?
Hi! Jo, from Italy 🥰 the moon phases are pretty cool! Why not trying to attach them from the points instead of the center? This way they won't turn around!
Also- to answer your question @ 4:48 I buy my paper from Office Supplies section of Walmart. It was near all of the notebooks and planners that are all stored together, but I freaked out when I found it cause I was so excited lmao. The papers had holes pre punched into the paper, and it also had lines to write on as well, so everything was well organized. And I think it cost me about $5-7 tbh
I love all your molds! You have such beautiful pieces on your Etsy store! To sell Resin art and jewelry on Etsy, do you need to ask the manufacturers permission to use their molds?
As long as it not copy right, you can sell anything resin you make from the mold (it imply when you buy the mold hence why they are so expensive sometime). There a lot of copy righted mold make by small seller and you can sell the stuff (the mold maker don't mind; again it is imply whenever you buy a mold) but it at your own risk. You can get sue.
Love the video! I do have a question though, I have been getting into resin and making the letter keychains. For some reason every time I make one I wait about 48 hours and my keychains are not fully curing. They are curing to the point it’s no longer liquid or runny but they are coming out and being bendy and not hard at all. Could you tell me reasons why this is could be happening or if there are any ways to save the pieces that didn’t work out? Resin isn’t cheap so I hate to throw away so many keychains ! Thanks!
Maybe the resin isn’t being mixed properly. Also if you live in an area where it’s cold, the resin takes longer to cure. I sometimes add the tiniest bit more of hardener to make sure that my resin pieces are going to fully cure and harden. But only like a drop or two more.
Hey! Is your room standard room temperature? That can affect curing! And if your mixing ratio is off. My keychains harden fully over 72 hours so sometimes they’re a bit bendy after 48! Also about saving them, I’m not sure I hope someone else can comment and help with that❤️ I hope we get this figured out ❤️❤️❤️ also thank you for watching! 😘😘
I saw a comment on another one of her videos from someone that said to use heat to try and cure them. They said try putting them in the oven and a low heat. I’m going to try this because I’ve had my resin keychains not curing recently either and I’m so irritated about it. What have I got to lose right? Even if the oven ruins them, they were already no good in the first place.
Meg Dion: good video, you seem to have lots of experience with Epoxy Resin, I was making some Letters for my family thas coming to visit and I got some Epoxy Resin on my Right hand, like idiot wearing no gloves though I wouldn't spill none and I didn't wash off right away, and dam its been itching, and got Irritated been a few days, any tips? was from "Let Resin" and I don't Recommend that Resin cuz takes too long to cure, yes has no Oder, very low in bubbles, but to cure is horrible, had to go back to Amazing Clear cast, yes is a strong order, the bubbles are Meh, but cure time fast, and Rock solid, very clear and Beautifully. The costers you made need to check ur tutorial on how too you made a lot of Nice Pieces look like some you buy at a store, again Thank for VID
my really thin molds like the notebook and bookmark and hair clips one always rise in the middle after I use them a couple of times and im always needing to buy new ones. It seems like it's warping or something and like if I make a bookmark it won't be straight in the middle of it. Does this happen to you?
*Heyyyy so I have an important question, about Alcohol Inks* So, I have heard that if the resin item (like your coaster @ 2:00) with alcohol inks used in it was exposed to sunlight, that it would loose almost all of color and look awful after some times goes by. 👀 *Have you ever experienced that?* Because I am super scared to make a product with the inks, then sell it, but then after time goes by, the product looses color and the customer is now unhappy. I would hate that 😭 So if you wouldn't mind, please respond to this and share with me what your experiences have been like! Thank you!
@@MegDion Oh! Oh awesome! Maybe it was just the brand that the person was using... thanks so much for responding to me! I am now off to make some colorful coasters! See ya! :)
Nope no mold release! I have a video about how to reduce bubbles but I think the best way for micro bubbles is to get crystal clear resin instead of clear (I use clear but have been experimenting with crystal clear and have found that it makes a big difference!) ❤️

It seems like it's warping or something and like if I make a bookmark it won't be straight in the middle of it. Does this happen to you?
I have that Christmas mold with the separate star. It’s for the best because there’s a spelling error in it! 🤣
Omg whaaat! I’ll have to go check 😱😱
@@MegDion Report back when you do! I’m curious if yours is the same. 😆
I want to order the alien keychain mold but can't find it
Was wondering where you found the skulls and the heart mold?
what kind a resin you use
do ur products get sell good ??
how do you get the keychain in them?
10 months since i start my resin work i got only 6 orders :( , any ideas or advices to help me ??
I've seen where people made tiny molds like you have and put the object inside another piece.
Just in case it wasn't already answered, but the large heart mold is for cupcakes.
That’s the nice thing about resin - I can use baking molds for projects! Lol
*Heyyyy so I have an important question, about Alcohol Inks*
So, I have heard that if the resin item (like your coaster @ 2:00) with alcohol inks used in it was exposed to sunlight, that it would loose almost all of color and look awful after some times goes by. 👀
*Have you ever experienced that?*
Because I am super scared to make a product with the inks, then sell it, but then after time goes by, the product looses color and the customer is now unhappy. I would hate that 😭
So if you wouldn't mind, please respond to this and share with me what your experiences have been like! Thank you!
I have never experienced that, no! Even my coasters from years ago are still colourful :) I use the brand piñata!
@@MegDion Oh! Oh awesome! Maybe it was just the brand that the person was using... thanks so much for responding to me! I am now off to make some colorful coasters! See ya! :)
Can you make a video on resin mechanical keyboard keycaps
Yeah that zodiac mold I can't get to turn out right either.
Are you using Any mold release agent for silicon molds?? And how to remove micro bubbles?:(
Nope no mold release! I have a video about how to reduce bubbles but I think the best way for micro bubbles is to get crystal clear resin instead of clear (I use clear but have been experimenting with crystal clear and have found that it makes a big difference!) ❤️
