I always thought that Crash Bandicoot and Donkey Kong had a lot in common in the main difference was just the camera perspective I mean they've even got the same big grin
100% agree with you - mood and atmosphere in the DK games as well nearly every game is super important, I didn't spend much time in these areas and wish I had, since it would of elevated the game feel. I'll deffo give more priority to these in future projects 👌
2:52 The beaver enemy Gnawty is pronounced "Naughty". It's a pun. Beavers gnaw on wood with their teeth and the word gnaw sounds similar to naughty. The two Gnawty bosses in the game are named Very Gnawty and Really Gnawty (Very Naughty and Really Naughty).
Your video is amazing, however there are ways to improve it. Firstly, dont forget your making a video about creating a whole game, you cant expect to exxplain everything in just six minutes. Secondly, I love your charater, but the people came to see the game you've made, and not him :( you can and should still use him, but put on a background of the game or smth. Otherwise an amazing video as said before :D
I suggest you forgo the arbitrary 24 hour deadline for a challenge and instead focus solely on the challenge of creating a 3D adaptation of the game. To the audience having a challenge be based off of time is less compelling than a challenge based off quality (e.g. you’re done when you think you’ve done the best you can currently do). If you continue with this type of challenge I suggest looking at how you can take inspiration from the 2D game to create a 3D rather than just a 1:1.
I was confused by the way he was pronouncing "Gnawty". It's a pun of "naughty" and "gnaw", you know, like a beaver gnawing on wood.
Honestly, my mistake - thanks for letting me know
@@rasheedthegenre No worries! Great video. Nice choice using Godot. I can't do art, but I'm a game programmer as well.
I also find wonderful it was done on Godot : it is an awesome engine which need more tutorials, examples, vids..
Enemies disappearing from existence in a single frame may look rough to most people, but to me it is always the most hilarious thing ever.
Crash Bandicoot
A fun idea for the next one ;)

Crash bandikong!! Eh!?
Impressive but needs moodier lighting with high-contrast values.

Just gave you your 100th sub
For only 24 hours, this is really good! Hope you got enough sleep!
Bro your video quality is insane! Great stuff!
Thank you so much 😃
Gnawty is goated. Truly the best first enemy.
That was incredible, dude! Keep it up!
Thanks a ton!
What a dream of an idea. A DKC from the Crash Bandicoot perspective would work really well.
Totally agree - would make for a really fun game :)
Cool!
This is a a well made recreation of the game! I never realized how good DK country could look in 3D!
@@TyPlayz36 Appreciate it :) yeah pretty cool to think about games from different perspectives
I'd pay money for a full game like this
well done! this is great work
Thanks a bunch :)

If Nintendo made something like this I would be the first to buy Switch 2, and I dont even own a Switch
K. Lumsy never did anything wrong! 😭
@@sithlordmikeyp 😂😂😂
Not bad at all for 24 hours.
Navmeshes are fun, not too hard to work with! Great project for such little time too 🤯
Thanks dude - I've been having a look into it and it seems quite straight forward :)

@@ayvesstarforge thanks for the feedback :) I'll keep it in mind going forward 🙏
The video is fine. Some people just want a quick overview of the process, and what's wrong with the character? This is super common in videos.
Love the video but please no arbitrary short deadline give yourself a week I wanna see this taking a good shape
@@LiamOfOzz I totally hear you - would of got a much more high quality piece. I'll keep that in mind going forward 🙏
Can you release a playable download for this
Is it possible to make this game with Donkey Kong in profile ?
