I could not figure out how to get the shock mounts off without damaging the plywood. Brilliant idea using the oscillating tool. Thank you

Thanks Al. I reckon a heat gun might take them off handy enough too, if it doesn’t damage the veneer.

@@guestguest6414 I noticed the heat of the multi tool did soften the glue and I was thinking a heat gun would have been a tidier way of doing it, being careful not to damage the veneer.

Did you clear coat the aluminum, it oxidizes easily if you polish it and remove the previous oxidized layer. Thanks for the video!

Great video! I’m curious that you didn’t rough up the rubber shock mounts before you applied the resin glue? Bonding to rubber is tricky and I usually do this, but maybe not necessary? Beautiful chair, I’m sure you’ll do very well with it. Mid-century furniture has amazing sty!!

that pc-7 crap is absolute junk. you need a proper two part epoxy for the shock mounts.

I know, now. I had to reflux them all.

Thanks for the warning! Which two-part epoxy could you recommend instead?

@@louissmeijsters9360 I used Gorilla epoxy, but I’m waiting to hear from Vitra as to what they recommend. I’ll get back to you.
