Volkswagen Touareg in 33" Deep Water Pit
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 тра 2014
- Volkswagen manufacturer claims the Touareg can safely ford through 22" of water. So, naturally, we had to put it to the test at 33". Yup! It's a winner! Notice we were very careful in entering and exiting the pit not to create any wake. Only 4 inches from the air intake. Not a drop of water in the vehicle. The Touareg is truly impressive in its own class.

That's my baby car in the water
Bad ass car and yes I still have it, and running like a brand new car .
People underestimate tourage, but it does a great job in off road
+Talia Martinez What engine do you have in yours, and do you know what engine is in the other SUV?? A friend in Miami has the Porsche Cayenne (built on the same platform I think) and the first time I rode in it, I fell in love with it. Where was this filmed?
+bhigdaddymark She has the 3.2 and it's a 2004. Mine is the 2008 with the 3.6. This video is filmed in Hungry Valley OHV in Gorman, California.
+MrBashian Thanks, you've got some cool videos! I just subscribed brother so keep 'em coming!
+bhigdaddymark Thank you
Mark 'BhigDaddyMark' Ferguson hh
Silk B This is why you want a Touareg TDI. Killin it!
Very cool, thanks for posting
wow.. that's so impressive, thank for post
Tanks. Tuaregs are badass
I would never dare do that to my touareg. I love it too much....now if I had another one to toy around with though, that's a different story
I'm like you. I wouldn't dare do it to mine. But I just bought me a second one for this kind of fun...
wow...i am gonna get a Tuareg as soon as possible...I am impressed!
Great video 😎🚘😎
Well if you people new that the touareg was a sealed design up to the window line you won't be making the silly comments that you are!
+robert feller I did not new that.
Can confirm, heavy double sealing on the doors. Definitely keeps the water out.
can also confirm, had water over my hood last week at lytle creek, interior dry, no hydrolock
Incredible...i want one
Simple do what you love no matter what 😎
Was the V 10 version? Happened on this video, youtube being what it is, and was impressed. I have been thinking about getting one so I was just wondering what size motor it had.
I would say it's more like a pool of water. Very impressive thought without a snorkel!
You are right, it actually is a pool of water with a little bit of mud in it.
Jordan Staggs True. No mud there...thank goodness
I'm about to drive right into that puddle with my VW CC RLine. Wohoo! Go Volkswagen!
Damh that's cool. I see you were at Hungry Valley
Wow! German engineering!
I wonder if you add enough weight in accessories to a V10 TDI if you can prevent floating
I have recently brought my V10 through moving water deeper, and though she did take a sip of the river we made it through, and did not float. She thicc
Were those the TDI 's or not? Cool Vid!!
o man i lova tuareg that much that i will buy one
That pit is missing ~1or2" in this video.
what year are those babies?
Коробка с задним редуктором воды не зачерпнула, через сапуны?
Two idiots, thought, I love it. From a 2014 Touareg TDI owner
Idiots? Really?
Huge difference between mud and dirty water. That's dirty water. Not mud
Dusty Crist True. I changed the title
Feel sorry for future owners were is the carfax
Not for sale. No problems in that area. By the way, vehicle is air tight.
Shant Bashian ehhh
Did water came in?

Tuareg 👍😍
Good
good
That was impressive on road tyres and no snorkel. STUPID, yet impressive :)
only stupid if you dont know what you're doing. these guys are experienced off road and know exactly where the inlet is for the air intake. behind the headlight.
don't know if all the sensors and electrical wiring is mud proof and can't be sure how is with the exhaust system (catalist converter is high enough next to the exhaust manifold, but the DPF is not!) and timing belt is also not mud tight!
b novak No timing belt. Timing chains, inside engine.. However, if you are referring to the serpentine accessory belt, all vehicles have those. No different on a Touareg or a Jeep.
@@ow-my-achilles1106 my v10 tdi touareg has no serpentine belt, no timing belt, no timing chain ;D
How are the vehicle still running I don't get it
the touareg is desinged very well for water surprisingly, the factory rated fording depth refers to the actual depth of the water for indefinite time, however the car can do deeper water with careful driving, but the factory has to give a safe number so if anyone goes one inch over rated and hydrolocks they dont sue vw. basically they are saying22 inches is extremely safe, but as long as your intakes are over water you are good. the touareg has an upward scoop air inlet behind the headlight. so roughly headlight depth is danger zone. 22 inches is not even the height of the wheel (stock is 29 inch diameter tire)
nu ete drum ?
My wife is going to kill me. HAHA I'M DYING

I can't believe no water got inside the door.
the door are incredibly well sealed, i have had water over the hood of my v10 and nothing in the door seals!
What year is it
2008 and 2004
not a drop of water in the wehicle but gallons of mud for sure!
Watch out how mud is running from the side skirts when car clims out of the mud bath.

Has the first Touareg air suspension?
+ak030390 Both Touareg's have steel suspension but larger tires. Alo, the 2008 models sit 1" higher then the first generation models.
+MrBashian Thank you;) I have a Touareg 1 year 2005 but unfortunately with sport suspension and 19-inch original wheels Siena. I want in 2016 now converted with the standard suspension from Sachs I + 25mm height so your reach

Don't these things come with lockers or LSD? that second guy was a chump.
center two speed locking transfer case standard, rear diff lock optional, front diff lock unicorn. also standard is edl which uses individual brakes to lock a spinning wheel and send power to the other side
приколисты. Как в пробке на мкаде. Еще бы задний дальним посигналил для полноты картины. Один еще толком не утонул Второй уже ныряет. ....янки....
This mud water will ruin every single electric component
+niceguy60 Well if you knew that the Vw was a sealed water tight vehicle up to the window line you wouldn't make that comment...
robert feller it's a car not a boat
niceguy60 Tell that to the guys who take them around the world...got a few friend in Aussieland that are this deep in water regularly.
+robert feller there's not a single car component which was designed to work completely submerged on muddy water's
robert feller don't act like VW's are indestructible they are regular vehicles , not submarines

Show me the carfax~
Carfax is clean :)~~
The car is actually sealed very well. Not a drop in the vehicle. Although I probably won't put it through that deep of water again. Probably not good for the bearings and such.
+MrBashian :)
It may also be worth checking the oil of the gearbox/transfer case, and diffs after a deeper water drive.
Those are the problems of water crossing that don't show instantly. Might be that the manufacturer limit is exactly the height of the diff breathers, etc.
+wopmf4345FxFDxdGaa20 you're right. Ended up changing fluids shortly after. front and rear diffs, transmission and transfer case.
N
@@wopmf4345FxFDxdGaa20 you are literally 100% correct, this is the only problem going over factory rated depth. must extend breathers!!
You just shortening the lifetime of your cars. Thats a road car not an suv
Do some research. Pulls more then some full size trucks and has crossed the globe like land cruisers and land rovers.
I agree. 4W drives should only be used for grocery shopping, school runs and crossing small puddles, but only when using low range and diff lock.
+Merrill Lombard especially at the mall ;)
You are aware that this thing can pull Airbuses etc?
jjcross1994 That's another idiotic thing to do with a car.
Amateurs , risky and foolhardy! Just a classic how not to do !
Juliet johnston amateurs would have driven through at 20 mph causing the water to wave over their hood, into the intake and hydrolock the engine. Professionals do it this way and just a classic "Exactly How it's Done".
Absolutely stupid move...whose cars are these?...maybe they are dealer cars, service cars, the cars of the guys driving??? Whatever, NO LIFE!!!!!
Cute German autos trying to be a Hummer. Better luck next time.
Hummers are a joke
so dumb. why tho? why even risk damaging such a nice car?
+Ms. Snatch For fun because we are off-road enthusiasts and if you notice the way we droive slowly, we know what we are doing. The car will not be damaged.
+imgone we definitely would be idiots we were not trained for it and drove into the pool blindly. Enjoy your cowardly day
+imgone lol...let it go.
+MrBashian lmmfao in gonna watch it
+Ms. Snatch 👍😂
sell this piece of shit VW and got 4runner ...if you want real off-road
How about I keep my VW and my Jeep and you keep your 4Runner and we all Fri e what we prefer? sounds like a much better idea to mr
ok..you right ! that your option....
if i sell my v10 tdi then i will have nothing to recover stuck toyotas out the mud
