Glad to see you back to reacting to Home Free. This is an original written by Tim it’s an unintentional sequel to his other original Champagne Taste ( On A Beer Budget) They just released a cover of Vulfpecks an American Funk band’s Christmas In LA. It’s definitely not country 😊
Great reaction, I have never liked country but I can’t get enough of Home Free they’re so good and I don’t know why I like them so much but I do. Ever since I heard them when they won the Sing off in 2013 and have seen them live 3 times.
Hi Larry nope last year you gave a standing ovation to their version of -- Oh Holy Night it´s one of your reactions i watch over and over and over and over again all summer 😅😅
Glad you’re feeling better. Some HF Christmas songs you should listen to - Snow Globe, Christmas in LA, Mary Did You Know, Cold Hard Cash and there’s more! Enjoy!
Very glad that you are recovering and hope your holidays are great. Give Home Free more chances in the coming year. You know they don't only do country, don't you?
Jewel, country? Jewel - Who Will Save Your Soul - 7/25/1999 woodstock. This will change your mind. Saw Home Free in concert last year. Most fun I've had in a decade!
@@larryshair Its been a pretty good week. So much to be thankful for. Thankfully there are man people getting over the flu and Covid (yourself included), people very special to me in remission and the best light shows and music out there. God Bless!!!!
Home Free is much more than country. They call themselves a vocal band. I’m not a huge country fan either but I love Home Free. Those harmonies are exquisite. Tim (bass) wrote this song…it’s kind of a sequel to his other song Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. The boys have lots of originals and great songs too. There’s another fun Christmas song that Austin wrote called Cold Hard Cash and then a fun bopper called Christmas in LA. They have so much good music. Some of the country songs that I love are Die a Happy Man, What We Ain’t Got, I Can’t Outrun You, Heaven. Glad you’re better. Have a wonderful Christmas! 🥰😃
Chris, you really need to see/hear their newest Christmas song/release - "Christmas in LA". It's very jazzy/funky. You will love it! As soon as I saw this was what you were reacting to I was like "oh no...." 🤣🍟
Glad you are feeling a bit better!!❤ These guys are so talented along with their comedy!! 👍👍 Glad you are enjoying their music, Thanks for reacting!👍👍👏👏
This one was written by Tim and it turned out to be a follow up to his Champagne Taste. For an original Christmas song written by Austin check out Cold Hard Cash if you haven't done it yet.
OMG! Chris, you crack me up! “Home Free is the filet o’ fish of country music!” I used to feel the same way about country music. Home Free has sorta changed that for me. I’m even rooting for a country singer to win The Voice this season. Just give in to it, Chris!
Glad you are recovering. Home Free is certainly good medicine because of the love and joy they infuse in us. They identify as a band, because they mimic the sounds of "instruments", rather than a group that would be more traditionel acapella. This is a Tim Foust original, and yes it is country.
Glad to see you recovering well. I’m a big country fan but I’m also a big Rap fan I’m definitely a STAN but when I found # HOMEFREE music 🎼 I knew I found a diamond 💎. Thank you for your reaction. I loved this by # HOMEFREE.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
Love your reactions. I think this song is hilarious. Would love to see your reaction to "I Wonder as I Wander" which is one of my favorite HF Christmas songs from before Austin joined the group.
Thanks for responding. Glad you are recovering. Covid knocked me out for a month in May. I was more sick that my 89-year-old mother who had it at the same time. Hang in there.
Love Tim's sense of humor. VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci are both dropping Christmas songs tomorrow. Jingle Bell Rock - Mean Girls (VoicePlay feat. Adriana Arellano) and Geoffs' BLUE CHRISTMAS - Elvis Presley (Low Bass Singer Cover.
This is such a hilarious song - You need to watch/listen to "Champagne Taste (on a Beer Budget)".... then watch/listen to this one - it's kind of a sequel to Champagne Taste. Tim wrote both of them. Glad you're feeling better!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
This is a Tim Faust original written as a sequel to his Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget. If you haven't seen that one you need to. It will make this one make more sense. Just love your reactions to Home Free.
Another demonstration of Home Free's exceptional vocal talents--and humor! Always love to see people's faces when they hear the gorgeous beginning of the song and they realize it doesn't jive with the title...🎄⛄🔔 The guys all have goofy sides and are not afraid to share them--one of the things that make them so relatable as people ❣️🎼🥰🎶♥️ And if you think of this as a sequel to their "Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget" it seems funnier yet! Tim is a terrific songwriter!! #HomeFree #HomeFreeDoesChristmasBest
This is a side of Home Free I'm not sure you had seen yet....their GREAT sense of humor. I had two bouts with Covid this year, and both times, I was already in the hospital for a very serious bladder infection.....I tested positive on the 4th day there, snd then tested negative 2 days in a row after the 2nd week there, and then on that 3rd day I tested positive again, and wasn't clear until 2 more weeks later. I also had a gout attack while I was there too. End of June to mid-August was not a good time for me.
Glad was my introduction to a cappella!!! My mom had a cassette of their Christmas album and we’d listen to it in the car! My favorite is “In the First Light” and I hope and dream of that day Home Free covers it!
I think everyone has filled you in on why you didn’t recognize the song. I think it’s a hoot! There are so many songs out there for Christmas, but if you repeat one, we won’t tell. I’m so glad that you are doing better. Have a wonderful Christmas! Looking forward to the next time.
So glad you’re on the mend! Country has never resonated with me, either. I was slightly, I don’t know, appalled (😬) when I realized that, as you said, if this is country, well, I’m a convert. My introduction to HF was on your channel. Thank you for introducing me to Home Free a year and a half ago. It’s been a journey I’ve truly enjoyed. Merry Christmas!
LOL…Well, I think the reason their brand of country doesn’t have the instruments associated with regular country….you get their Amazing voices instead of them being drowned out…..LOLOL….&, if their voices weren’t too great….you wouldn’t hear it 🤪🙃😳😵💫 …. So, we get Home Free …..WOWZA 💗🔥💗 MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄❄️🎄

Wait 'til you find out many of your favorite pop and rock songs were written by Dolly Parton. She is one of the most prolific songwriters of all time, including hits such as '9 to 5', which is covered memorably by Hove Free, and 'I Will Always Love You', covered by Whitney Houston. Country is far more than the caricature that prevents some from discovering it's breadth. For more than a half-century, country has been whatever sound was pop or rock 10-15 years prior.
I don't agree. Jewel dominated the performance with her over-the-top histrionics. It feels like she's demanding that we have a merry little Christmas...or else! "I won't be listening to Dolly Parton" So, have you heard the song "I will Always Love You" sung by Whitney Houston? Are you aware that Dolly Parton wrote that song and recorded it twice, charting both times? Her original is different than Whitney's, but not that much. It is sweeter and more heartfelt and less powerful. She wrote it as a message to her mentor when she was leaving his television show to go her own way. My point is, there is a lot more variety in country music than you give it credit for. It's not monolithic as to style. Different artists are influenced by bluegrass, folk, rock, blues and pop. Some country fans say they don't like "modern" country because it's too "poppy". I like all of it because what sets country music apart is its emphasis on the lyrics and message and that it's often a voice of rural and blue-collar people whose values and concerns don't get much play in most media.

Don't be so hard on Dolly. She did a cover of Stairway to Heaven about 11 years ago and is very interesting. You should give it a try.
If you'd like to see Home Free get back to their country roots check out their cover of Blake Shelton's "Hillbilly Bone". They have fun with that one (the ladies are their girlfriends and wives). Their rendition is a bit of a party song, and be warned they poke a little good natured fun at New Yorkers. Not too long ago they also had a wonderful Christmas collaboration with Alabama band members (huge country band in the 80's) singing "Christmas in Dixie". That song may mean more to those of use who grew up with Alabama's original...beautiful and peaceful. Speaking of Alabama if you'd like to get just a taste of how much variety country offers check out Alabama's "Feels So Right"...for example. More often than not country is about home, heart and soul which anyone can relate to in their own way, and it seldom sounds anything like Bluegrass although perhaps that was typically the case 70 years ago.

You'd like Garth Brooks or maybe even George Strait. Or Trace Adkins. They don't have that older twangy sound you mentioned. At least to me they don't but I live in Texas.
I would also suggest Chris Stapleton as a further intro to country. He’s cut from a different cloth.
I would like to hear Twenty one pilots - Christmas saves the year and also Mason Ramsey - run run Rudolph
