I love BK, Dave Young (bass) is one of the greatest too. Saw him leading an Ellington tribute in Toronto a few years ago.

And then, a turnaround of G... 1:50. Took me forever to figure out what the hell was going on there. When he says "G" he's saying it on the pitch Eb, making a Gma7#5. Scrambled my brain for about 10 minutes.

The Bb7 a d the Eb7 chords are tritone substitutions of the 6 and the 2 chords in a 1625. The A7#5 is a sub for the D7.

Currently there are none available for purchase. The good news is that everything was made to be watched and read in the video. The booklets (although they sometimes contain additional info) are really there for offline practice. We will update when we have them available.

Okay Mr. Kessel, fine with lessons , but one must really be familiar with a lot of very basic knowledge. While the tunes are simple, only if one grasps a lot of basic music knowledge. Melodic, harmonic, sequential: otherwise : good luck. He seems to stay away from actual scales. Maybe I misunderstand his point.

BK's playing is complex, but his teaching style is direct and to the point. These lessons are a great resource. Focus on patterns not scales.
