Don Bluth in opinion is like an orthodox holy man of animation. There's a spiritual side to Don Bluth especially when it comes to ethereal music in An American Tail, The Land Before TIme, All Dogs Go To Heaven, Rock-a-Doodle, Anastasia, Thumbelina, Pepple and the Penguin and Titan AE.
If only Walt Disney himself back then when Don Bluth was an assistant helper during Sleeping Beauty, he would see Don Bluth future as a great animator who brought us classic like Secret of NIMH, American Tale, Land Before Time, All Dogs Go To Heaven and Anastasia.
Don Bluth had an incredible crew of very skilled and talented artists, but let be honnest, he wasn't that good at storytelling. Most of the time, his movies lacks good scripts. The peeble and the penguin, A troll in central park, Thumbelina are pretty weak from a storytelling standpoint. All dogs go to heaven just duplicate a sequence from 1001 dalmatian, when the dogs barke to give alert in the neighbourhood, Raspoutine is a pretty weak vilain with little or no influences on the story. His best movies were created under the survey of Spielberg who had enough power and taste to get the story on the right path. Even The secret of nihm suffers from the final coming of magic when the whole story is about the power of technology and the effect on the rats of nihm. But, Don Bluth has an incredible flair for design, animation and layout, noone can deny it.

Such an beautiful tribute to Don Bluth, he is an legend and one of my favrorite inspirational animators like Walt Disney himself, I've grew-up with "Anastasia" and "The Secret Of NIMH" until this year I've enjoy "The Land Before Time" first time.
Like I said in a previous comment it was in The Land Before Time where I first heard those words 'The Great Circle of Life' years before the Lion King came along.
Watching this made me literally tear up. Don Bluth is one of these directors who know how to create remarkable stories with his animation. He is like how Spielberg is; he shows how his heroes are just regular everyday people like us, how they're able to get through dangerous times and how a family can get separated and reunited because the importance of love within family is important.
More than an amazing talented man. When things went right, Don Bluth proved to be the fulcrum for a creative core of artistic geniuses... along with a crack team of technical back-up... and the indispensable element of business and financial support. A critical combination. Bluth's team worked the impossible by intentionally and successfully rivaling even the best of Disney animation. Very, very few ever came this far.

This is a great tribute to Don Bluth, well done, but I would have put some scenes from Dragon's Lair (1 and 2), Space Ace, Rock-a-Doodle, Thumbelina, The Pebble and the Penguin, Bartok the Magnificent and even A Troll in Central Park. The two Dragon's Lair and Space Ace are some of the best thing Don Bluth has created, Bartok the Magnificent is an excellent and very funny movie (for me it's one of his best ones and it still one of my favourites, but it's very underrated and I don't know why) and the other four movies still Don's works and they deserve the same respect as his best movies (I still think Titan A.E. isn't one of his best movies, I think it's mediocre, boring and anonymous, I can't help it, I never liked that movie).
