I've always liked the Triton for its superb ride & handling characteristics. It is the one pick-up in which you can confidently carry speeds on highways through fast sweeping bends.
In this video, I take the new Triton 2.4 MIVEC to test out its handling prowess on a Genting Run.

Excellent video!!
I drive one of these 5th Gen L200/Triton for work, 2.4L Mivec with the 5 speed auto.
I tried some 0 - 100 km/h runs using Caltex Premium Diesel, and the fastest i achieved was in the low nines consistently, around 9.2s - 9.5s.
When i used those construction site diesel fuel thats of low quality, i only achieved around 10.5 - 11.5s.
Really outstanding performance I would say, as its surely faster than the Toyota Wish CVT 2.0, or even the Corolla Altis 1.6 (I timed those to be around 10s - 12s).

Next time if drive a 4X4 vehicles up genting can try switch to 4H gear. Its more grip and more stable on 4 wheels to get through those coners.

Wrong perception. 4H is not AWD. Using 4H on high speeds and long runs will damage the transfer case.

Maybe...because the gear box still working well. And maybe I Just drove not enough fast, around 80kph only on gravel.
Then better don't try. Drive safely.

Triton use viscous coupling no problem using 4hlc in these situations.

I have been using 4H in wet weather even high speed on highway. My 6 years old pick up is still running smooth. The pick up without loaded and wet weather, 4H will make the ride much safer.

are you using the 4wd mode ? i own triton auto standart varian ... and dont have 4 wd mode..
