Better Option Will be to go to
Settings > Live Server > Settings: Custom Browser
From there you can Change your fav browser much easily...

That's what I did first before I came here and it didn't work. Was trying to select the incognito chrome option in the dropdown. Do you know the modifier to "chrome" in the json settings to open in an incognito window?

Hey Pandy.
I have serious problem , my live server doesn work , it places on random port like 55312 , 55344 and so on , I reseted it and cange whole setting like port 0 and make tik on use local ip and whatever you think I have done but not uses.
please guide me , it s drivin me crazy.

Now having typed "chrome" in the settings.json it is nice! Strange that it doesn't work with "chrome canary" I wonder what if have both normal Chrome and Chrome Canary on the same computer which one will it open then.🤔

I wanted to set the live server to Firefox Developer Edition and just putting the name didn't work.
SO i had to put the full path like this :
"liveServer.settings.AdvanceCustomBrowserCmdLine": "C:\\Program Files\\Firefox Developer Edition\\firefox.exe"
