Epic movie - resembling real life for many of us who have had friends like this in our young pasts.........and sometimes it takes a physical separation (moving away, College, Marriage/having a family, growing apart, etc....etc.) and years of Time to realize who they really were "inside" all this time, and that try as you might, you STILL can't help them.
Love James Spader in this. His lines are great as is his wardrobe. I went for years without seeing it on tv and suddenly found a movie channel playing it.
Only if you only get ALL The CHANCES,any MINORITY would have been on the STREETS AND DEAD long time ago or INCARCERATED,let me see,HEROIN,CRACK,BURGLARY,BREAKING and SLEEPING inside other people,s residence that he believed was still his.
This move is just as sad and tragic as when I first saw it in the theater. ( I remember everyone in the theater oohing when when they saw CDs being played-they weren’t on the market yet-only records and tapes were available in our area! And the closing see where Julian dies still breaks my heart.
It feels like I am looking back at my life and my friends looking back at this. It’s so upsetting am I can name real people that are represented by each character in this movie.
Brad Pitt is in the pink striped shirt 00:29 and I know because on the movie version I'm seen 5 seconds later inside the pink party. But in this version I'm seen at 00:48 on the right side wearing a pink T-shirt. Even though we were just extras it was much fun for about 2 weeks in three different locations. I was working at the club Scream on weekends, but not during the LTZ shooting days.
RDJ was having problems during the filming of this movie. He'd had them for a while, he'd get clean for a movie. But I heard he relapsed during filming. Bless his heart
Sylvia hon: What about Andrew M.🤧🤧🤧🤧?Andrew, I must add still keeps me crying in ST. ELMOS FIRE film.James? James just wayyyy too much.James 10 of a man.
This movie, with its cheesy portrayal of the "look-we-are-richer-than- you'll-ever-be" crowd actually accomplishes the sober delivery a very profound message, one that says if you give into drugs and compromise your work ethics while ignoring your privileges of easy education and privileged opportunities, you will be left with less than zero...
Buenas noches, esta película la vi hace mucho, quisiera verla de nuevo Pero no encuentro la forma , si alguien tiene algún dato donde pueda descargarla gratuitamente , respondan por favo. Gracias
and....jamie g e r t z, in this film was my dream, i m there age. i saw this film long time ago, i also read the novel.. it explains my generation..brilliant performances, brilliant novel, yet the novel is different from the film. i. was in beverly hills that summer, it was very much like the film, the beauty the colours. beverly hills was very exciting at that time. i was there the summer of 1984. i was 19...it was my first trip alone.........it was cool............ ..and quite the party scene. like the film. wow...
I love shit like this,a video with a song that fits Perfectly, but isnt the initial song you would consider for it.This sorocks, see I cant even write, lol! THIS ROCKS!
Mehhhh. That's true in certain ways. What you saw was the beginning of THE END of an era.. unto an age/stage of unspeakably expedient technological sophistication. Then again, I was born 1990. The classical human dramas/condition still remain.. but the game & arena has changed for good, for sure. It will continue to do so in an exponential manner. God only knows what comes next but evolution's just gonna keep on chuggin'. AND honestly that's all that matters in the end. For 1 reason or another. Embrace it or hate it, there is a way through it and that's but the path forward through it all. Somehow, some way.
I know right? 1982 sucked for music. After all, you only had to choose from Toto, Journey, Alan Parsons Project, The Police, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder and Elton John.

This motion picture is no joke. Spellbinding performances along with the original score truly struck me deep within.

Little did Robert Downey Jr. & James Spader know that they would violently clash decades later as Iron Man & Ultron!

Couldn’t you at least add a song about parties or drug abuse? People spreading rumors is the last thing I think about when I watch this flick.

Your choice of music is an insult to this movie! SMH!!
I know right? 1982 sucked for music. After all, you only had to choose from Toto, Journey, Alan Parsons Project, The Police, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder and Elton John.

Joey Clemenza I know, 82 was great for music.
