I love watching your adventures and I also love that you do wash your dishes instead of wasting paper plates etc. so you are helping to save the earth. :) I miss not seeing your videos but fully understand why you gave it up. I hope life is treating you well. You seem like a really nice, genuine young guy. Take care.
Glad that someone finally starts with decent tyre pressure....10psi should be everyone’s go to beach pressure and the tracks would all stop Getting trashed. People seem to think you need 500hp for sand driving instead of correct pressure.
Depends on your tyres. Muddies Yeah, normal tyres no, 10psi can bead roll with soft normal non muddies. Also tyre pressure changes drastically with temperature, so 10 hot could be 6 cold and then driving at 6 the next day to start isnt ideal...
Good to hear and see you live by your rule of reducing rubbish by not using disposable plastic crap for meals. I'm also heartened by the fact you have actually mentioned this because many other 4wd channels hardly ever mention the issue of excessive rubbish and ways to minimise this. It's a growing trend that we Aussies get out camping and promoting less rubbish will help to keep Australia Beautiful! 👍😉. Good on ya mate and everyone who lives by the rule of reducing unnecessary rubbish.
We took our 16ft road van through the north west of WA behind our 2WD Commodore wagon earlier this year. Heading out to Coral Bay we dropped them all to about 22psi and got through no problems. Even made it onto the beach (without van) and up to Telstra Hill without getting bogged.
I have got to say I really enjoy your videos. I would love to explore the places you go. Australia is beautiful. Your positive and humorous style of videos are entertaining. Keep safe and keep seeking. 👍
My general starting point on trailer tyre pressure is matching whatever I drop the tow rig tyres down too...obviously keeping in mind weights of the tow vehicle and the weight of the trailer...it helps if you have matching tyres all round...you did exactly the right thing here in the vid, let em down enough to bag out, can always adjust later on. Love the new shirts!
Hey Michael, I have an Engel fridge freezer that dad bought nearly 40 years ago, hasn’t been switched on for 2 years just turned it on still going great although the 12 volt side of it stopped working a few years ago, great product will be buying a new one that the 12 volt works soon .....cheers mate love the vids
Engel all the way. I have 3 and one is over 40yrs old and still running. I recommend getting a custom built trailer because the welds are not always the best on standard trailers.
Hey brother - Another great vid. one tip on beach launching is to get your outboard trimmed all the way up, a couple of good waves can travel up you your exhaust through the prop, so pays to keep it as high as practical while launching and retrieving. You nailed everything else!
awsome video again mate. I am so amazed about the effort you put in every single video. Just seeing all the different camera angles and whatnot, that must be sooo much work as a solo traveler.
I hope you enjoyed the boardwalk at Skipjack Point mate, my crew and I built stage 2 (the car park it’s self and from the car park to the first seat) a couple of years ago. We drove that track each morning and evening for 2 weeks
Spooky88, Hang on a minute. Bought in 78. Inherited in 93, that means: 78 to 93 is 15 years. Then, continued to use it for 22 years more. 15 + 22 = 37 years of use! Is that not a reliable fridga fridge?
Thanks Michael, good stuff as always. FWIW, I have a Waeco 40 that works great in the local area even on mid-40s days. Also have a Waeco (Dometic) 20lt car fridge for road tucker, or for when I use the 40lt as a freezer. And a old Chescold 3-way which works brilliantly, particularly on gas. Get them all out and working when I take the family away. Or when the power goes out for hours and days like it often does here. Looking forward to getting over there and checking out these wonderful places you show us in WA. Keep it up. Cheers!
Off roading with a boat is great fun but I have to agree, the standard trailers just aren't built to take the pounding. We broke the back of one trailer although I have to say that it was due more to cheap imported steel than anything else. We have been using a Mangrove Jack collapsible boat trailer for a long time now and that is the best we have ever had. We don't drive huge distances with the boat on it but because it is collapsible, we put it together when we reach our destination and then only have to move the boat a few kilometres. Local WA made trailer and very good quality.
Best thing u can do if you plan on beach launching - add a third wheel just behind the hitch, with stub axle and hub. Put a swing gimbal on it so you can lower it and drop the trailer off the car. If u get bogged you can then either tow or snatch the trailer out. It also gives you full set of spare bearings if you have trailer trouble.
Prudent and creative use of drone. Nicely done and good points to ponder. I had an Engel 40L for a few years then sold it for a good price again. Loved it. Easy to use, rugged & easy on power.
that's why i have downsized my boat - to get to spots like that ! some beautiful drone footage there there are some beach launching tips - maybe I'll do my own - thanks !
I live in the USA on the east coast, where there are lots of boats and I have to say that on every weekend you'll see a quite few overloaded boat trailers broken down on the roadside. Flat tires, broken axles and frame bits scaping the ground are all common. Seems to me that trailer maintenance is an after thought to most boaters. They don't get used enough to wear out the tire tread so no one looks close enough to see the cracked sidewalls. Too many trailers get totally submerged for launching and retrieving in salt water without being rinsed afterward causing rust in all sorts of hidden places. I suspect that with a little care and proper loading you don't really need a special trailer unless you're doing some serious wheeling just to get to the water.
Thanks for the video. There was an article in a Texas magazine about that. There are 2 ways to unload a boat from surf. The way you did it is when it's hard sand or you trust your rig not to get stuck. Second way is used more in soft sand unhitch your tralier and push it in but requires more than 1 person usually.
Trailer tyre pressures - we did the Canning Stock Route earlier this year towing a small home made box camper. Fully loaded weight of around 750 kgs. On Cooper all terrains on Hilux rims. Had the trailer tyres down around 8 to 10 psi. Kept having to pump them back up every morning but could not find the leaks. Finally worked out that if I kept the pressures around 15 psi, no more problems. Can only surmise that the constant bashing from corrugations and rocks was letting air escape around the bead. That's my best guess anyway...
Camped on that exact beach a couple of years ago. One of the best places on earth, I think. Need to get back there. Will have to buy a T-shirt. They look great.
Love the video mate, couldn’t agree more about the fridge we had same issues with our waeco a few years back on our Kimberly trip, got home and bought a Engel straight away hasn’t missed a beat since 🤙 We just got back from Tamala stn what a spot 👌
We’ve had a great run out of our 80l waeco. 15yrs and going strong, just down sized as the kids no longer come with us to an Engel 40l fridge and freezer. Both are great.. great video, that is a great place to visit and as you said if you want to see wildlife in the ocean hard to find a better place. Keep ‘em coming.
The Waco cfx 40 I bought 8 years ago must be 1 in a million its fricken awesome lives on the back of my ute without a cover and doesn't miss a beat in outback QLD, lucky me I guess.
haha 22 deg, cold? That's why you live in the west and I'm in the east. I don't do hot! My engel fridge I have had for thirty years or more. It has spent a large part of that time bouncing around in the cabin of a truck, being used every day. It still works as good today as when I first got it.
Have a Waeco and Evakool fridges; they all worked perfectly and have friends with Engel and had issues. All three are good fridges really, but personally find Engel designs old school. I tow a 2.6t camper off-road regularly. I go down to 25 to start and 10 if epic soft. It’s all about the pressure and load you carry. Just have to find the balance.
As others have mentioned trailer pressures the same as car. But given they were road tyres leaving them at 18 to protect the sidewalls a bit was probably about right. I’ve towed a nearly identical size boat on a standard trailer into bottle bay for 10 years now. I have light truck tyres with tubes though so can let them down quite low. You don’t really need an off-road trailer unless your doing 100’s of k’s on corrugations or rock hopping type tracks. People tow standard boat trailers on Fraser Island every day. Putting bigger wheels/tyres on and lifting the boat higher make it 10 times harder to launch and retrieve.
No matter how many videos of Australia I watch, I am always surprised that cars drive on the "wrong" side of the road and you get out of the "passenger side" of the car, lol!
Love your video always instructional ;). Can you make a video "How to clean your car after Beach Driving" and How to Rust protect your car"? I hearing that fish oil will do the trick..Keep up with the videos
It’s a nice spot for sure. Pity the department of pine poles has been extremely active. Great clip. Keep it up. You didn’t use the boat much in the video??
My Waeco has been very good, even in 43degree heat out west last month it was working hard and kept everything icy cold. I've heard bad things about Engels too as well as good. I think the Waeco and the Engels are fairly well made, and how well they function depends greatly on how they are treated by owners.
Boat trailers- Don't overload them they are only designed for the weight of the boat + motor. You can upgrade the springs and tyres for peace of mind. Great show, keep em coming ....
Have you ever considered a wider tire. A wider, slightly taller tire would help axle clearance, flotation on sand, at the simple cost of relocating the fenders on the trailer
I match my trailer air pressure to the 4wd tyres. 10psi would be a very soft ride for the trailer but keep speeds very low as normal.. I tow a Drifta hard top camper. On the way back to WA from a trip to cape York via Birdsville Big Red Bash and Tasmania for a month..
Might change your trailer tyres to light truck with a thicker sidewall and inner tubes. The standard boat trailer tyres have very thin sidewalls and will get a puncture off road from sticks if bagged out.
Yeah Waeco fridges tend to run continuously so they fail earlier , Engel's are more reliable . Nice boat launch . Modify the trailer if your going to keep it . Keep the stories coming and seek adventure , did i just say that :-)
Another great video. Someone has probably asked this already but what are you using for your aerial shot ? Mavic pro or similar? Your living the dream.
Good start at 18psi, but I go lower too. There’s no weight in your tinnie so you can get away with much less too. Like your truck, keep letting them down until the wheels float on top rather than carving in.
He asked to comment about tire pressure preference and only a couple replied what pressure they air down to. Personally it depends on terrain , snow , rock sand and also the size tire your running. Having beaded wheels help tire from slipping off rim when airing down in certain situations. Some go down to 18 , 21 lbs. You will know when your too low for sure LOL.
So 1st things 1st With regards to launching boats, I used to water ski professionally in lakes all around Victoria & in 99% of tue cases you had to track in on goat tracks to get to great parts of the various lakes & as such there were no boat ramps. To ensure that we did not loose boats, boat trailers of worse still vehicles, we would pull up a few meters back from the lakes edge & attach a sling to the boat on the trailer to the vehicle, put the jockey wheel down & manually remove the boat trailer from the vehicle & manually push the trailer with the boat on back into the lake with no fear of loosing either then simple pull ( tow) the trailer out of the lake once launched. Upon returning repeat the process in reverse in 20+ yrs of doing that way we never had an incident but had to do plenty of recoveries of people who just wanted to take a short cut & either ended up badly bogged or worse. Even if they were able to float the boat off and pull the empty trailer out at time of launching, reloadung the boat & pulling it nack out at the end of the day was something that a lot of non thinking people struggled with, but our way with a sling never failed for launching or recovering. On the subject of fridges all our company 2017 XLT Rangers run Dometic Waeco CFX 50 fridges & we have never had 1 problem with them. These vehicles travel all over & through out the eastern sea board through out Vic, NSW & QLD from the high country to the extereme outback, a lot of the time on what can only be called goat tracks at best. At the moment we all run a 120amp AGM battery from Giant batteries, these vehicles can occasionally be sitting for 3 or 4 days at times with no starting & no charging of the AGM and the battery is just fine. We run these fridges at 2 deg c, no matter how hard we punish these fridges with vibration & extereme heat ( some times 48 deg c + ) they just keep going, not 1 min of down time in any fridge, the power consumption is exellent we are really happy with them and would never have or use any other type of fridge. Fridges tend to be a bit like cars ( Holden, Ford, Mazda, Isuzu, VW) what ever car person you are ( you're a Mazada person, we are a Ford company & so on, the point being you tend to stick with 1 brand & never change. We never tell people that Dometic Waeco ate the best and nothing else is worth the time, effort or money we simply tell people what we use & how hard we use them & what we use them for & how hard we work them & how happy we are with them & tell them to do their own research with what we have told them & ask them to choose them selves, that way what we are telling them is unbiased. So if you are a Engel, Waeco, Evacool person that tends to be the brand that you stick with for ever.
I love watching your adventures and I also love that you do wash your dishes instead of wasting paper plates etc. so you are helping to save the earth. :) I miss not seeing your videos but fully understand why you gave it up. I hope life is treating you well. You seem like a really nice, genuine young guy. Take care.
Glad that someone finally starts with decent tyre pressure....10psi should be everyone’s go to beach pressure and the tracks would all stop
Getting trashed. People seem to think you need 500hp for sand driving instead of correct pressure.
what ya on about ya need 80 psi racing slicks to go off roading the pros use solid forklift tires
Depends on your tyres. Muddies Yeah, normal tyres no, 10psi can bead roll with soft normal non muddies. Also tyre pressure changes drastically with temperature, so 10 hot could be 6 cold and then driving at 6 the next day to start isnt ideal...

"I'll tell you what"...............some say he never stops smiling.
Sitting here watching a guy cut two potatoes and talk about fridges for 3 minutes straight and couldn't look away lmao
Man I couldn't stand that scene 🙄, I just skipped straight past it!
Love the groovy 1960’s style music over at the start!
I was expecting a cameo from Austin Powers.
Electro swing is great

Couldn't agree more on the Engel. I've got one from 2004. 15 years old, still going strong.
How cool that they have and air point for you to air up out there !
Man this guy could start his own tv show love your vids keep them up
My general starting point on trailer tyre pressure is matching whatever I drop the tow rig tyres down too...obviously keeping in mind weights of the tow vehicle and the weight of the trailer...it helps if you have matching tyres all round...you did exactly the right thing here in the vid, let em down enough to bag out, can always adjust later on. Love the new shirts!
Such a gorgeous part of the world you live in. Thanks for the vid
Great video mate . And yes Engel for life mate 👍🍻
trailer tyre pressures generally same as the tow vehicle when off road ;)
I wish you were my friend would be awesome to seek adventure with someone Soo pationate

When it gets really windy, they call it
Choppy.
Keep up the nice work 👍
Agree with u M8👍👍 Engels go forever, mine is 12yrs old and never had an issue
turn the spare tyre into a drop down jockey wheel and push your boat in the water then snatch it out - hot tip
awsome video again mate. I am so amazed about the effort you put in every single video. Just seeing all the different camera angles and whatnot, that must be sooo much work as a solo traveler.

We drove that track each morning and evening for 2 weeks
Go and have your fun back bud.
Cheers for your videos bud
Engel aren't that reliable, I only got 22 years out of mine... and 20 years out of the one before that.
Old bugger
Not that old, my wife's dad bought it in 78, I inherited it in '93.
But old enough
Spooky88, Hang on a minute.
Bought in 78. Inherited in 93, that means:
78 to 93 is 15 years.
Then, continued to use it for 22 years more.
15 + 22 = 37 years of use!
Is that not a reliable fridga fridge?
My dad bought an Engel in 85 & I have it now & it is still going strong. Along with all the Primus equipment from the 70's.
How is that not reliable?
Thanks Michael, good stuff as always. FWIW, I have a Waeco 40 that works great in the local area even on mid-40s days. My favorite video. Since the Wa Nt trip. Great work.

Randomly popped up in my feed, so why not watch it again 👌👌 hope ya doing well mate
Prudent and creative use of drone. Nicely done and good points to ponder. I had an Engel 40L for a few years then sold it for a good price again. Loved it. Easy to use, rugged & easy on power.
I've learned a lot from you mate, your videos are very helpful and informative. So simple and entertaining to me.. ha ha
that's why i have downsized my boat - to get to spots like that !
some beautiful drone footage there
there are some beach launching tips - maybe I'll do my own - thanks !
Great video as usual Michael, interesting technique for rolling up the swag... Thanks again, love the vid's mate - Peter V.
That's unfortunate about the Waeco, mine has been brilliant, we went with a CFX65W for the Kimberley trip and it has been great ever since.

Great video. Definitely invest in trailer tongue and wheel locks. Also balloon tires for the beaches.
Camped on that exact beach a couple of years ago. One of the best places on earth, I think. Need to get back there. Will have to buy a T-shirt. They look great.
I reckon you would love the Bushman fridges too, magnificent video by the way.
Another great vid. You mate, are one lucky bloke. Jealous much. Keep up the vids.
Love the video mate, couldn’t agree more about the fridge we had same issues with our waeco a few years back on our Kimberly trip, got home and bought a Engel straight away hasn’t missed a beat since 🤙
We just got back from Tamala stn what a spot 👌
We’ve had a great run out of our 80l waeco. 15yrs and going strong, just down sized as the kids no longer come with us to an Engel 40l fridge and freezer. Awesome stuff again Michael and love the look of the new shirts, will have to add one.🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Awesome!
Oh yes I’m excited for this one! Smashing the like before I even watch it hahah 😂 keep up the great vids!!
haha 22 deg, cold? That's why you live in the west and I'm in the east. I don't do hot! My engel fridge I have had for thirty years or more. It has spent a large part of that time bouncing around in the cabin of a truck, being used every day. It still works as good today as when I first got it.
Mahn you funny.love your videos keep it up
I like your humility
Awesome Video ..... Entertaining as always
Austin powers music at 2:30 hahahaha brilliant as always michael
Austin powers, man of mystery seeking adventure. 😜great vid once again, you never disappoint. Keep up the good work. 👍
Ya did good! Thanks for sharing.
Great content, luv your work.Cheers
Have a Waeco and Evakool fridges; they all worked perfectly and have friends with Engel and had issues. All three are good fridges really, but personally find Engel designs old school.
I tow a 2.6t camper off-road regularly. I go down to 25 to start and 10 if epic soft. It’s all about the pressure and load you carry. Just have to find the balance.
Well done on another informative video....by the way I have just ordered a T-shirt...keep up the great work.
As others have mentioned trailer pressures the same as car. But given they were road tyres leaving them at 18 to protect the sidewalls a bit was probably about right.

Love your video always instructional ;). Can you make a video "How to clean your car after Beach Driving" and How to Rust protect your car"? I hearing that fish oil will do the trick..Keep up with the videos
Love the spin into your swim trunks! You're like...Wonder Woman?
The cut and edit was just about perfect.
Utah JohnnyMontana WHAT, so it wasn’t real 🤔
Great video man.
Man. You got good content. Love it!!
It’s a nice spot for sure. Pity the department of pine poles has been extremely active. Great clip. Keep it up.
You didn’t use the boat much in the video??
I have an Engel fridge that’s older than you Michael. A 25 litre I think. It’s been around Australia and hasn’t missed a beat. Still going strong!
That's great looking beach. If I'm ever in Australia...
My Waeco has been very good, even in 43degree heat out west last month it was working hard and kept everything icy cold. I've heard bad things about Engels too as well as good. I think the Waeco and the Engels are fairly well made, and how well they function depends greatly on how they are treated by owners.
Great vid mate, love the cook ups and yer i have a Waeco fridge and have had a few problems with it. Love ya work
Really enjoy the videos. Dig the new t-shirt
Boat trailers- Don't overload them they are only designed for the weight of the boat + motor. You can upgrade the springs and tyres for peace of mind.
Great show, keep em coming ....
Great production. Are you really on your own??? Outstanding!
Can't believe you just left your boat out there like that !!
zoezoe610 let me guess... you live in the US? ;)
@@fairdinkum9454 No I live in Australia and tow a van but see vans, boats and campers get knocked off all the time on FB.
My dingy set up is similar,I never drop the wheels in deeper than the hubs.No salt water in the bearings.Let the winch do the work.

07:10 - good effort mate! I'd still be sobering up by that time haha
Beauty fresh ep 👌
hahaha.. ur fun to watch man.. cheers!
Nice one Micheal. 🇳🇿👍😎
You’re amazing man
Another great video. Someone has probably asked this already but what are you using for your aerial shot ? Mavic pro or similar? Your living the dream.
Seriously good camera work.
Good start at 18psi, but I go lower too. There’s no weight in your tinnie so you can get away with much less too. Like your truck, keep letting them down until the wheels float on top rather than carving in.
well ive had a waeco for a while now and i have had no problems with it. it has always worked well even in hot weather. Maye i got a good one.
Love your 4wd videos. Im looking forward to but a 4wd vehicle
Nice editing bro, Keep it up.
I was thinking that tent/cot thing was neat, but what about bears? Then realized the one thing you don't have to worry about there is bears
Hey mate towing my trailer as seen in my videos with the quad in it I go to 10psi on soft sand . And 18psi on dirt and hard sand .
There was in fact a 12v clothes washer/dryer that was sold on Amazon for a short time
So 1st things 1st

Hi love the vids. Are these the Engel fridges from Florida? Or do you have a different Engel? Or is it Angle? Thanks!
