Today is our 4th day having a beagle pup Rex (9 weeks old). One thing I can tell that a Beagle is def different to others ;) He’s outside during the day and sleeping in house during the night. When we practice this during the day, if he calms and settles, shall we open the door and give him a pat and treat? I am worried that if we go out and give him treats and back inside he will bark or whine again (It’s a glass door so he can see inside though) Eventually we want him to be in/outside freely but does want him to think that inside is his main place. Hi Sarah, Lovely to hear from you and I'm so glad you are getting value from the videos. I do have a beagle puppy online package if you ever felt you needed just a little more. It covers everything from how to leave your beagle, walk them without pulling, and reactivity and recall training. Plus crate training and whining in the crate as well as any other aspects of like. Whining is normal to begin with but over time it should stop. But we can inadvertently reinforce it and we end up with an adult beagle who whines.
