I have watched countless UA-cam videos trying to figure out the various routes to and around Tianmen Mountain. So glad that I came across this video. You are the only UA-camr who has provided a crystal clear explanation of the route options. Well done and thank you.
Wow thanks for the compliments! So glad it was helpful and have a wonderful trip to Zhangjiajie!
Hello Gibert and Lilian, I thoroughly enjoyed your video. I'm a planning a trip to Zhangjiajie and will definitely "copy" your itinerary.
Hey, so so glad that you enjoyed our video. Yes, Zhangjiajie is a really fun place to visit. Have a great trip!
Interesting place. One day hope to be there! 😊
You should!
You two are so calm and cute! I enjoyed your informative video which will help me as I visit solo. Happy travels!
Glad it was helpful! Hahaha! Good to know that we are calm and cute ☺️ Wishing you a fruitful and enjoyable trip.
Very useful guide. Thanks for sharing! Roughly how much time was spent walking the trails?
Hey, thanks and it has been useful to you. We spent almost 6 hours hiking. Expect to spend a full day there.
@@gibbontravelogue Thanks!
Hello, thanks for sharing the video. is it recommended to visit tianmen shan and avatar mountain in mid Dec? Is it going to be foggy?
@@mamabobo3104 Yes, definitely. The average temperature in Zhangjiajie in December is around 7 degrees Celsius. Pretty cold and it could snow in the high altitude, so the view is going to be amazing. It also has a low probability of rain and hence not likely to be foggy.
Thank you for replying so fast.
Do you mind letting me know how you get to Zhangjiajie from Singapore (assuming you are Singaporean from your accent). Which hotel did you stay at? Sorry for asking so many questions. 😊
Hey no problem. Indeed we are Singaporeans. 🇸🇬 You can check out this video on how to get there. For us, we got there by high speed train from Guangzhou to Zhangjiajie. You can also choose to fly to Changsha via Scoot and then take the high speed train from there, around 2 hours.
We stayed in Hilton Hotel in Zhangjiajie City. It’s relatively inexpensive and close to both Tianmen Mountain and the Zhangjiajie Train station. No worries, let me know if you need more tips or suggestions.
Thank you once again.
Is there an international airport in Zhangjiajie? How did you get there?
Hey, yes, there is an international airport but is quite limited to a few airlines flying there. Alternatively, you can take a high speed train there from major Chinese cities. You can check out the details in this video. ua-cam.com/video/MKxNpwAf63Y/v-deo.htmlsi=ERh3tovESYWnrmpr
Hello! Just writing to really thank you for your video, is really helpful , specific and complete
Thanks for this wonderful comment. It’s encouraging and really made Lilian and my day brighter!
Great video! I plan to go there next month. How many days do you recommend staying at Zhangjiajie Town? I also want to visit Furong and Fenghuang. Do you recommend staying overnight or just doing a day trip to these two towns?
Thanks! And hey, it’s great to know. I think it will be great to spend a least 4 days at Zhangjiajie to explore the parks there. Then you can take a day trip to Furong. A day trip to Fenghuang is possible too but it’s further so perhaps spending a night there is not a bad idea.
Thank you for full guid, how much were the tickets? Can i get from trip website?
Yes, you can purchase the tickets on trip.com or Klook. I think I have put the prices inside the video, do take a look again. Have a great trip there!

And where is the entrance of cable car? Is in zhangjiajie downtown?
Hi, the entrance is opposite the Hampton by Hilton. So search for this hotel, and it’s just the opposite. This is also the place where you purchase the tickets to the park.
Hi, where to eat good food in GZ. Thanks
Hi, I am so glad you asked.

Hi Gilbert, thank you for your great video. How much is the ticket to Tienmen Mountain ( including the cable car ride) and is there a discount for seniors? Can you share your tour itinerary? Is the walk it too tough for seniors ( above 65)? Thanks.
Hey, you are most welcome and nice to know that you enjoyed the video. The two-way tickets to Tianmen Shan which include the cable car rides, is RMB275. The tickets can let u have access to the park over 4 days. For seniors up to 60 years old, the price is RMB 144. And if you are 65 or above the price is just RMB113. Tianmen Shan is not super huge, unlike the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, so a full day at Tianmenshan should be sufficient. The walk is a moderate walk, not physically taxing but it is a pretty long trail. So if you are exercising regularly, it should be ok. Otherwise, you can split the visit over 2 days. One day to take the cable car to the top and do a short trail there. And second day, go the other route where the Tianmen cave is.
One more thing, there is a nice outdoor musical called the Fox Fairy show, with Tianmen Shan as the backdrop, it is worth watching.
@@gibbontravelogue Thank you so much for your speedy reply. Your info is really useful. By the way, the 4-day ticket in Zhangjiajie National Forest Reserve and Tienman San, mean no need to pay for the cable car or shuttle bus on the 2nd day?
@@mulifehydrogenproducts2771 that’s right!
We are planning a trip from Singapore to Zhangjiajie in mid September, do you mind sharing your itinerary ?Is 7 days including arrival n departure day sufficient to cover Zhangjiajie?
Yes, 7 days can be sufficient to cover Zhangjiajie. You can spend 3 days at the zhangjiajie forest park and 1 or 2 days at Tianmen Shan and a day either at Fenghuang or Furong ancient town.
