- Kaiserjäger is a 1956 Austrian film directed by Willi Forst.
Die Dreharbeiten für Kaiserjäger fanden in Tirol und in Innsbruck statt. Die deutsche Uraufführung des Films war am 20. Dezember 1956 im Europa-Palast in München. Musikalisches Leitthema des Films ist der Marsch Wir sind die Kaiserjäger.
The Kaiserjäger (officially designated by the Imperial and Royal (k.u.k.) military administration as the Tiroler Jäger-Regimenter or "Tyrolean Rifle Regiments"), were formed in 1895 as four normal infantry regiments within the Common Army of Austria-Hungary. Despite the name "Tirol" in its title its members were not just recruited from the crown land of Tyrol (including Vorarlberg) but also from other parts of the monarchy. The regiments were disbanded in 1918 with the end of the k.u.k. monarchy. The word Jäger (meaning "hunter" or "huntsman") is a characteristic term used for light infantry or light infantrymen in German-speaking military context.

Jäger is also used in the French Mountain Infanterie as "CHASSEURS Alpins" or in German Gebirgsjäger, also Para-Troopers were called Fallschirm-jäger in Germany and Austria, in Switzerland the word Jäger is replaced with the trilingual Fusilier or Grenadier.

I love those old times,, I think those times were the better, sure today to have more technology, to have many good things, but to put it in a balance I will prefer live not in this actual times, and obviously in those old times because I love live in simplicity, between people more health of mind., Today to have much bad people at world, we have more comfort,,more access to many other things, but between much bad people,even apparently the earth and nature to be angry with us for our behavior, for don't care our planet.

@@jurgbangerter1023 politically yes. Not culturally or historically. I am quite surprised to such a comment like yours. Secondly the movie is based in Imperian Austria, and Historical Tyrol was three times as big as current.

@@acid823 actually Tirol was not even twice as big before you lost your war of aggression against Italy...or are you adding Bavaria to it??? Language Minorities are much better protected in Italy then in Austria where you try to Germanize the people you call Tschuschen, also Romantsch was spoken even in Innsbruck and many Tirolian villages have Romantsch names..so even the Romanche and Ladins have more protection in Italy same as the French in Val d'Aoste. Vorarlberg wanted to join Switzerland a long time ago same as Franche Comte from France and both times there were kings interferring with the people's will. South-Tirolians today are happy to be in Italy where they enjoy more freedom.
