I loved Yozakura Quartet so much!
You mentioned Speed Racer; this video gets bonus points.
Awesome video! I'd like to see a video on Production I.G., I think their attention to detail should be recognized.
This shit is so cool. Honestly, thanks to productions like Ping Pong and Gatchaman Crowds, my interest in anime has gone through the roof. The downside is now I don't have remotely enough time to consume everything I want to.
Ufotable and MAPPA would be nice subjects for this studio spotlight.
yozakura quartet
the most underated Anime series
from the best author
doni zetta its an awesome shiw but the story wanst very attractive
Once again another fantastic video! I love Gatchaman crowds, so to see the story of the animation studio behind it was quite fascinating! :)
I could watch your videos for hours and hours, holy crap. Great stuff.
Soon it will be Internet anime reviewers getting hired for press and marketing positions, what a weird world that would be! Interesting video, I enjoyed it.
Wow this video is 4 years ago old
They made Martin Mystery? That's just priceless :D
educational
quarter yazakura and yatter man night tales of vesperia looks so nice to watching i luv this three anime.
I loved deltora quest
Do you think one day you could make a video explaining where the heck Doga Kobo came from? They seem a lot like Tatsunoko in the sense that they've been around since the 70's, but it wasn't really until 2012~2013 with YuruYuri2, Love Lab, and GJ-bu that they had any kind of splash - thanks in large part to the animators like Nonaka, Oshima, and Watanabe that got chances to really shine. They went from mediocre VN adaptations to gag comedies with explosive character animation and tons of heart seemingly overnight and I'm personally fascinated by it. Even the non-comedy stuff like Majestic Prince have solid CG and mech battles with the same kind of intensity.
Ryo-chimo brought new life to Tatsunoko, but who the hell kicked Doga Kobo in the ass and put them in gear?
Will you do animators spotlight for this people
These are the Grandmaster level animators that I had in mind
Hiroyuki Yamashita
Yutaka Nakamura
Shinya Ohira
Norio Matsumoto
StudioMationix I'm generally going to try avoid spotlighting the super high level people, focusing more on new talents, but it's not off the table. Especially Oriha.
The Canipa Effect I see. Well here some young blood I think is talented
Naoki Kobayashi
Shingo Yamashita
Ken'ichi Fujisawa (not sure about he's age but he's style is influenced by Norio Matsumoto style)
Hiroyuki Yamashita is young too but a bit too dangerous if he had enough experience.
in before my friend BlueSakuga make videos about them so check it out and he also an uploader in sakugabooru.
you should do studio bones
And then you look at Psycho-Pass 2...
Selena C Was that bad? I finished Psycho Pass a while ago and thought it was amazing. I've been thinking about continuing the series.
+Selena C They aren't responsible for the writing. They handled the animation, and it was consistently competent. Sometimes great.
Well more quick news
Whoa! I think I accidentally found the thumbnail to this video at 3:14 haha
Well that didnt last long... is 2022 and the Web gen left the Tatsunoko production behind.
Is sad but by how the industry works nowdays losing so much talent is the norm.
(Can I call you Callum?)
How did you find out which key animator did exactly which cuts of animation for an episode or part of a film? From what I've seen, they usually only list one or a few key animators for an entire episode.
Selena C (Sure!) Whilst there are indeed cuts where the key animator isn't known, due to the nature of the way anime is made (A single animator will take charge of an entire cut by themselves), there's various quirks and hints at who may have created particular sequences. Sakuga enthusiasts keep their eyes on the credits and work backwards to figure out what part they may have animated. For me, I'm rubbish at spotting most of this stuff. Ryo-chimo was a bit of an exception because digital animation is easier to spot, but I use this website to discover footage for most parts. sakuga.yshi.org/
Thanks. I've been much more interested in and have paid more attention to the animation and directing specifically in anime, thanks to your new animator spotlight series.
O.O
So what's the story with Infini-T Force then?
the only thing i know about yozakura quartet is that it is part of the baccano/durarara universe and timeline since they all share the same writer. is that true.
Yozakura and DRRR have the same novel illustrator, and got a crossover manga.
Senpai Filmworks
WHERE CAN ONE READ DRRR AND YOZAKURA QUARTET CROSSOVER
Let me guess.. One of the animators was from Newgrounds.
Yozakura Quartet was OK
The animation was incredible yet the story left to many questions unanswered. I liked it but I didn't love it.
Cpt. Tester
That’s cause the original Yozakura Quartet covered the actual first few chapters of the manga but the animation and story line deviated after a few episodes and turned into a shit show. Then they rebooted it into the one they’re talking about in the video but it kinda expects the reader to already know who the characters are and what the main storyline is
What is the song used in your intro?
could i watch gatchman crowds without needing the previous works. i heard of this but because it is an existing work i stayed out of it. i am very chronologically driven.
+lunerblade13 Yup. Gatchaman Crowds is an entirely new story in an entirely new world loosely based on the original Gatchaman show. You'll be 100% fine watching this without having seen the original.
The Canipa Effect but i still stick with the original gatchaman then the crowds one, i love the old one especially gatchaman ova
What i want from tatsunoko is they make the new gatchaman.for me it is hurt to see gatchaman crowds after I'm watching the ova . So,i hope tatsunoko bring back ken the eagle and another original member back and reboot it.But i saw a news that gatchaman, casshan, polymar and tekkaman will going to rebooted in 2017 with new title called the infini-t force.
Muhammad Maulana Dzikrulloh - I agree with you! While I didn't dislike Gatchaman Crowds, I wondered if it could've held its own stand-alone concept without attaching itself to the original work. I'm a great fan of the original Gatchaman because it was one of the first anime series that I was exposed to. There seemed to be enough interest in Gatchaman in Japan to produce a live-action movie a few years ago and some failed attempts to revive it in 3D animation. I hope that someone with more respect for this anime can do a proper remake one day without the abbreviated storyline and pandering fanservice, (I'm talking about you, OVA). The soundtrack was the best thing about it in my opinion, but I'm glad to know that Tatsunoko Poductions is still around and producing great anime. I thought it was fragmented and disbanded long ago.
Dearyvette TN the soundtrack deserve Grammy in that time!
I wish I could have a British accent like yours. I would sound way more professional! :))
Anime Dude but he's australian though
+AniNaffs *Australian then :))
Anime Dude You're both right. I grew up in England but I live in Australia.
atleast pronounce yozakura correctly
Honestly sket dance is pretty forgettable as a shonen series to be honest
