Miami Vice came out about the same time as TSFS in 1984. Edward James Olmos wouldn’t have been famous as Castillo during casting/filming of TSFS in 1983.
I was hoping there would be a comment on the religious undertone of ST III. Spock for all intents and purposes is "resurrected" at the end of the story. On the "altar" Spock lays near the one who has his "kottra" (spirit). The one who has his spirt is McCoy, "Son of David". A direct reference to Jesus Christ. I always looked at this movie as the pinnacle of Star Trek story.

I'm not a big fan of the excelsior but I think it was an important transition and though it's not one of my favorite ships I like the progression of the b version the c version the D and E ... In my mind's eye the progression was well thought out and there I say PERFECT!
I agree! I love how Sulu admires the Excelsior, and then he ends up becoming its Captain! That is great stuff! I wish they made the Sulu series like they planned.
There's a lot of stuff I heard about William Shatner especially when he told the fans to get a life any thought they were obsessed with the Star Trek thing and he didn't get it until he went to a few of the conventions and then it finally sunk in He really pissed me off at first but what I hear what he did in minute 15 about helping save the set when it was burning down I'm glad to hear it It makes me feel a little less ambivalent about him Especially when I heard his comments during his TJ Hooker days It really pissed me off about the cops using the chokeholds just convinced me What a bubble he lived in and how out of touch he was with the real world and living in the streets of L.A. which clearly showed me he had no idea! I still love Kirk And that's so big of a fan of William!
It's really the planet sets that pull Star Trek III down, just like V being seen negatively due to the poor visual and special effects. Both have some of the best character moments in the franchise. Too bad they didn't shoot in Hawaii. They also could have shot among real snow-covered cacti here in Arizona if they timed it right.
I got to tell you that beautiful Amazon Woman Warrior who allows herself to be taken out My God I would have loved to seen her character develop more Just that short part told me so much about this woman interacting skills I would have seen her as a returning Klingon and a character to be reckoned with She was exceptional and what a waste to not used her more! But I'm sure you going to tell me she would have hated to have been type cast and never would have wanted the role to go on further than what it did!
I am not a language expect but isn't the order of English and Spanish different? Like in English you would say "The White House" and in Spanish it would be "La Casa Blanca" (The House is White) or am I missing something?
It amazes me with all the millions of fans that it kept Star Trek alive after it was canceled after two seasons that they never thought of asking what the fans wanted and get a consensus I'm sure there would have been a lot of stuff that would have been junk but there might have got a better idea of what people really wanted to see I read more novels written by so many authors of Star Trek that would have made great screenplays but I know Paramount was too cheap to want to pay for the rights to any of these novels that were far better I think than many many of the stories they came to write and call it Star Trek or Star Wars for that MATTER ... No one ever bothered to ask the people that made them hundreds if not thousands of millions .... I FEEL THAT'S VERY SHORTSIGHTED ON THE PART OF THE BIG HEAD MOGULS OF PARAMOUNT AND THOSE BIG HEADS HAVING TO DO ANYTHING WITH THIS EXTRAORDINARY LEGACY THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A HELL OF A LOT BETTER!
I've read a lot of Star Trek novels but I don't think I've ever read the Khan one. I do remember reading the Search for Spock, which I particularly still recall because of the extra scenes that were cut out of the movie; like the young girl approaching Spock after the ritual on Mt Selaya. That girl is actually credited at the end of the movie but the scene is on the cutting room floor.
Your videos are very well done, but I really hate the use of these unrelated cutaways to make a point. They just seem ridiculous and unnecessary and take away from the viewing experience of your video.

That s*** you guys came up with that really look like a bird of prey with a double haul was a magnificent ship well made well designed didn't look like anything from the original Star Trek and for some reason that I can't really explain to you It did look romulan Where the ship and Star Trek 2 that you guys designed for the Klingons looked Klingon!
This story and debate between and forgive me I don't remember the actor's name who was in the original Star Trek TV series who later even in the original Star Trek series started out as a romulan and ended up as a Vulcan playing Leonard nimoy's father and all the splitting of hairs that that white ship with the orange bird was going to get mixed up with that green ship with red wings on it Who gave a goddamn I don't know anybody that I've spoken to of all the trekies I know and I know hundreds of them that ever bitched or whined about the romulan ship painted white with the orange bird of prey and the Klingon green ship with red wings on it and it seemed you guys went through conniptions about it nobody gave a s*** cuz everybody was into the story of Spock dead not coming back to life and that ship being totally New to all the fans Was a delight and because we didn't see any ronlin's around nobody gave a damn It was a cool ship with a cool story well directed by Nimoy And we love seeing the original cast kicking ass against the Klingons even though they didn't look like anything we remember from the original Star Trek the TV series and I'm sure if you would have bothered to ask Maybe 50 fans who had come into a theater to see some rushes they would have told you they don't give a damn cuz I never heard anybody splitting hairs over it like you guys did God this is ridiculous!
That's Mark Lenard. He played a Romulan in season 1, and then a Vulcan as Spock's father, AND in the Motion Picture, he played the Klingon! He's been all three major races of Star Trek!
Why do you content creators ruin your videos with crappy stock footage that has no connection to the video? It shows a tremendous lack of creativity. The Klingon dog looked ridiculous, even for the time. And I agree with you. That Pon Farr scene adds so much dimension to Saavik.
Interesting!
Thank you!
Miami Vice came out about the same time as TSFS in 1984. Edward James Olmos wouldn’t have been famous as Castillo during casting/filming of TSFS in 1983.
Interesting. Thank you for the comment!
Interesting and very thought-provoking.
@@TotallyAwesomeFilmsPodcastThx for not being sarcastic or mocking. STOS had many "faith based" hints.e.g.
*The Vulcan sign is actually the Hebrew hand symbol for "G_d Almighty.
*Kirk's comment to Apollo
*Bread and Circuses episode
* Even Metamorphosis episode
Michael Eisner? I thought he was in charge of Disney at this time.
Great point! You know your Hollywood! 🙂 Pre-production began in 1982 when Eisner was still at Paramount. By the time this movie was finished in 1984, he had moved to Disney.
@@TotallyAwesomeFilmsPodcast thanks for the info.
@@TotallyAwesomeFilmsPodcast thanks......another bit of info.......... on Star Trek next Generation.....Episode "Cause and Effect" where the Enterprise D relives over and over the same day which causes the Enterprise to be Destroyed........at the end of the episode When Picard talks to the Captain of the USS Bozeman who was played by Cheers star Kelsey Grammer The production team had hoped to get Kirstie Alley in a cameo role behind her Cheers costar Kelsey Grammer in the USS Bozeman reprising her role as Lt. Saavik from the movie Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), but her asking price was too high for such a small role...... which was a shame that money problems caused her not to be in the episode. it would have been cool to see her in Star Trek Next Generation.
That's a great bit of info that I didn't know! I love it! Thank you!
@@TotallyAwesomeFilmsPodcast your welcome.
Why was harve Bennet allowed in?
I think Harve Bennett did great things for Star Trek and was then thrown away. I think he deserved better. That's just my opinion.
You know at times while I watched this video the narrator sounds like Robert Picardo. I guess I’ve been watching too much Voyager
That's amazing! Thank you for the complement. You made my day!
@@TotallyAwesomeFilmsPodcast The narration sounds like AI given some of the pronunciation's.
I got to meet William Shatner at a comic book convention in Charlotte back in 2016. It was quite an honor. He was super nice.
Never knew James Doohan had a hand in creating the Klingon language!
Isnt that incredible?
Same thing as last video - great content, the AI voice is terribly obvious and distracting.
Thank you for the kind words. Check out my Star Wars video and tell me if my voice is better?
It's really the planet sets that pull Star Trek III down, just like V being seen negatively due to the poor visual and special effects. Both have some of the best character moments in the franchise.
Too bad they didn't shoot in Hawaii. They also could have shot among real snow-covered cacti here in Arizona if they timed it right.
I think shooting it ib Hawaii would have been better. Nimoy made up for it by shooting on location in San Francisco
I would love to hear your thoughts on my Star Wars video. Check out that video and let me know your thoughts in the comments!
I am not a language expect but isn't the order of English and Spanish different? Like in English you would say "The White House" and in Spanish it would be "La Casa Blanca" (The House is White) or am I missing something?
Yes, the NOUN and ADJECTIVE order is different, but he was simply talking about the SUBJECT, VERB, and OBJECT order.🙂 Thank you for your comment.
@@TotallyAwesomeFilmsPodcast Ok that makes sense.
Why do you pronounce Klingon differently every single time you say it?
Haha. If you only knew the reason .... 🤣
@@TotallyAwesomeFilmsPodcast
That’s… Why I asked…
AI
Glad you don't use the AI voice. But some clips... not needed. UA-cam fashion editing.
I'm still learning. I appreciate any feedback!
It's amazing how Star Trek has survived despite the short-sighted executives!
What are "Klingins"?
Haha. Yeah, that was weird.
Did Carol Marcus and her son snort protomatter in the bathroom...?
🤣😂🤣
There was a series of books that told how they developed the tech and where they got the protomatter, involving the Tholians.
Vanguard, I believe.
@@Jah_Rastafari_ORIG , I think the Khan series is called The Eugenics Wars by Greg Cox, and the Vanguard series is by David Mack.
so, if you are actually reading the script into a microphone. why do you say Klingon where it sounds like Klin Gon ? it's Klingon soft g. Kling on
😂
must be AI reading, because nobody says Klingon with a g sound..
😀
Your videos are very well done, but I really hate the use of these unrelated cutaways to make a point. They just seem ridiculous and unnecessary and take away from the viewing experience of your video.
Thank you. Also, you're the second person to bring up hating the gifs. I'll have to think about this! Thanks for the feedback.
I thought Christopher Lloyd best klingon
I really liked him as a Klingon as well.
I really like Christopher Lloyd in most roles..But I really didn’t like him as the head Klingon in ST 3..Every now and again, when he speaks,I hear Iggy from Taxi come out
I remember when I first saw Star Trek 3 in the theaters, I was also distracted by flashbacks of Rev Jim!
Good video but wastes too much time on the Klingon language development as most people don’t care
Thank you for the kind words, and the feedback. 🙂
I also loved how the Klingon Battle Cruiser made its return in Star Trek 6!
Pick a lane. Is it “Klingon-ons “ or “clinguns “ cause you are all over the place with the hard g/o and the soft g/u. It’s difficult to listen to.
🤣
AI voice. That's they've used for these Star Trek videos.
What an embarrassing AI mess. 🙄
🤣
rubbish click bait thought this was official , just another youtube click bait rubbish
?
Bad AI bot
It was something I tried when I started the channel. I stopped it. It all 100% my own voice now.
Why do you content creators ruin your videos with crappy stock footage that has no connection to the video? It shows a tremendous lack of creativity. We do not have to see an old fashioned telephone when you talk about a call. For this reason I will not be liking, or following or watching any more of your videos
Thank you for the feedback. I hope you still give my videos a chance. 😔
I feel EXACTLY the same way. Unfortunately, it's not just this channel, but is all over UA-cam.
I agree with the crowd. These things lessen the ride. This is a little to easy.
You could always make your own videos just the way you think they should be made, but you prefer to complain. Some people.....
