Demoed the companion 5 first and then the music system III at the showroom. i am glad i did. Definitely better as the companion 5 was sounding cheap and grainy. I own a lot of hi end audio listening and pro equipment. The reason why i previewed Bose was the small form factor and style. Wont replace your main hifi system. But if you are short on space and need a basic something acceptable around your threshold, then this is a slick retro system ;) I know what that warm sound is.....it is actually a pleasing sound that is not too harsh or cheap. The hi end is clear and sharp and massaging on your ears. I got the agent at the showroom to play my CD, so was impressed with the small unit producing very nice sound. Compared to the companion 5, the soundstage and imaging are really good. I also previwed the music system II which is better in all the aspects i mentioned compared to music system III. But it is pricier and also bigger. Perfect condition would be for the music system II to have the same form factor as III :) My PC room setup has the Mytek 192 DSD mastering version DAC for driving the Audeze LCD-X. The Auralic tarus MKII headphone for the Audeze LCD2 and CEntrance DACmini for the Fostex TH900 phones. I use RME Raydat output as the source on AES on one PC. And the other gaming PC has the Creative X-FI Titanium on Optical. So i get close the best sound possible on a headphone setup. But sometimes i like to be free and not have the headphones all the time on me. Due to space constrain donot want to invest in hiend monitors+premp+amp....too much of a hassle. Also not a big fan of multichannel audio. Under those circumstances I think the bose music system III will appeal to me. Bass is lacking, but then you get a warm sound, which makes you feel happy and forget about the inadequacies. Pricey ? sadly yes. Unfortunately did not find a similar offering in small form factor, style and sound. Thanks for the review, I will probably buy it this week
Yes you can. I sometimes connect the CD player the radio is sitting on to it. All you need is a RCA (red and white connectors) to 3.5 mm (headphone plug) adapter cord. They are like 4-6 dollars at any store like Best Buy, Meijer, Kmart, Wal-Mart, etc.
i'm listening to this video with my bose wave 3. I love it, i wish i had bought the real bose bluetooth attachment - I bought a cheap one, and it doesn't allow me to control w/ the remote, and doesn't sound as good as a cd would
You would need a double male 3.5mm stereo cable (double ended headphone jack plug cord). You would plug one side into the laptop's headphone jack and the other side into the radio's aux in jack. Only the older Bose radios had the red and white connectors.
Hi, can you use the ipod/bluetooth device to change song as well as the wave remote? I've got a wave III too and I love it. I currently have a wave connector for my ipod, which I got for free when I bought it but I fancy having wireless way of listening to my music, great video by the way, thanks
You have to push the "5" button on the Bose remote when in Bluetooth mode to make the radio discoverable. After that it should show up as an option in the iPhone Bluetooth screen.
My Bose stereo looks just like yours except that mine is the CD player version. I have a question that you might be able to answer. I want to hook my laptop up to my stereo but everyone says I need an RCA cable (the one with the red and white plug-ins). These stereos, as you know, don't have those plug-ins. If I were to buy an aux cable could I connect my laptop and stereo using that so the stereo works like speakers for my laptop or do I need something else?
Does the Logitech Bluetooth Adapter you have a video for work well with the Bose Wave 3 ? Bose Bluetooth adapter is $100 compared to the Logitech for around $40
Yes, it works and sounds good. The only drawback is that It has more wiring to hook up than the Bose one, and the radio's remote won't control the iPod through it.
JGonYT Thanks for the info. Very helpful.also for all the videos. We just got the wave 3. A little disappointed in the bass at higher volumes. Around 85 it seems to lose depth. Sounds awesome and full rich sound at levels below 80. Deciding whether to return it but love the portability. Thanks again
David Adams The radio's circuitry probably turns down the bass a little at high volumes to avoid distortion. However it's amazing at how much bass (while still being clear) the unit puts out from 2 speakers that are under 3 inches! I really like it too for the portability. I put it in one of those folding zipper tool bags when I bring it somewhere.
DIRECT QUOTE FROM Bluetooth SIG, Inc. "Bluetooth technology is a wireless communications system intended to replace the cables connecting many different types of devices" True- the adapter to the radio has a cable- that's because it is a separate add-on device.
Yes- that is the only difference. You are better off getting the radio and the bluetooth adapter so you can use your bluteooth phone, laptop, or newer ipod to play music wirelessly for less money.
I'm having trouble streaming internet radio to my Bose. The computer recognizes the Bose Bluetooth, but it only gives me the option to send a file to the Bluetooth. How do I just stream the music, essentially making the Bose the speakers for my computer? Thanks!
Is the only difference between this and the wave music system the cd player? cause there is a 150$ difference, and I will not pay 150$ for the option to play a cd.
I am unable to play my music from my MacBook Pro via bluetooth to the device. I have the adapter and my phone is able to play it using bluetooth. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
94Lockdown20 I haven't used Mac much in years, so I can't help too much. Make sure that the MacBook is Bluetooth audio compatible. Not all Bluetooth versions can do audio. First you have to put-the Laptop's Bluetooth into discoverable mode wich is usually in some settings or control panel menu. After that is active you have to push the pair button on the Logitech receiver and it should show up on the laptop.
I know that you can get better sound for the money. For the size of the radio its sound is pretty good. Bose is kind of like Apple; they charge 1/3-1/2 more than they should. I still like it though and mainly got it because I take it on vacations and stuff a lot.
JGonYT you know what that is very good way of putting it I love apple but not the price but I am just a Bose basher because what their charging that money for is not a hard thing to do it is just big magnets and plastic tubing
electronics for fun I know, it really isn't extremely sophisticated inside. I had the radio apart because I broke the plastic display screen cover. I tried to get them to send me a replacement but they said I would have to send it in and pay like $175. Luckily the Bose store I bought it from just switched out the radio with a new one for free. The main thing I really like about it is that the bose remote actually controls the iPod wirelessly through bluetooth.
My grandma has the model with the CD player on it, I love the sound quality on it

4:02 - I like how the time on the clock went from 6:03 to 6:02 PM.
😂😂😂

SiLeNZ _ Don’t worry. When you listen to bose products it will always sound shit even how much high quality you throw at it.
The Australian models come with DAB+ Digital Radio using VHF band 3 as standed with AM and FM.

Yes- you can hook a tv to the input on the back of the radio if it has a stereo output
Yes- you can operate the i-pod or other bluetooth device like normal also
У меня такой есть bose 👍

Just got it set up and it's working great. Thanks for the quick reply.
I can't decide whether I should have this or the acoustic wave 2.
Blablablablabla can we hear it please Capt. Kirk!!!
I forgot to mention that the radio will actually turn on the iPod if it is in range which is nice
You have to push the "5" button on the Bose remote when in Bluetooth mode to make the radio discoverable. After that it should show up as an option in the iPhone Bluetooth screen.
can you add a external cd player to this bose tu great video

you need some kind of cord plugged into the headphone jack on the nano because it uses it for an antenna

Thank you, that was very useful.
How do you hook the Bluetooth up...I am having a hard time with that part
Is that my question or is that your question

Kyle Ruiter did you figure out waht song was playing...it is from citizen cope ... called something to believe in

★★★★★
I'm seriously considering buying a Bose Wave III. I also have an iPhone 5. Can the iPhone 5 by hooked up to the Bose to play music etc.?
You can hook an iPhone to the aux input or you can get a Bluetooth adapter to play audio through it wirelessly.
Yes it can. I have the iPhone 5 paired to it and works very well. Check in your country if it comes with digital radio.
The beginning of the song by Citizen Cope- Something to Believe In
thanks for the infor. i have a ccd
If you want to take it places- the music system/radio would be better. If not the acoustic wave II has better sound.
can you hook a laptop up to it with the aux cable?
Can i listen radio from ipod nano 7th Gen (Without plugging earpods)?
My iphone won't connect to Bluetooth on the boss radio same as yours

+94Lockdown20 How come none of these damn videos ever play it so that we can hear how it sounds?
Reggae Fan
2:07 ?
Yes it can multigunman
I just bought one at Costo for $299.00
You keep using the term "wirelessly," which is incorrect. Bluetooth is not wireless.
Thank you google
you paid 1/2 $1000 for a radio and then said it wasn't the best thing in the world I built a pro audio system for half that price
I know that you can get better sound for the money. For the size of the radio its sound is pretty good. Bose is kind of like Apple; they charge 1/3-1/2 more than they should. I still like it though and mainly got it because I take it on vacations and stuff a lot.

yeah the remote is pretty cool. You can get remote with cheaper systems but only half the buttons work if at all.
can the speakers work with a tv?
