True , I think up against another strong woman like Sabalenka , if possible applying a scrappy hybrid style to upset her style of play might overcome, ...Swiatek as well another swift player ..a tricky one , but Danielle is as good as if not better than both ....

What do you mean by “iconic”? I hear younger people say that often now, like earlier the word “epic” started to be used for situations that were cool or fun, but not epic in any sense of the word as it used to mean. So I’m just curious what it means that Danielle’s winning play in recent months is iconic. Thanks.

If Collins can stay at this level and stay injury free and healthy she just might win a Slam in this her final season. Her fitness level is outstanding and she has every shot in the book.
Couldn't agree more. The Collins haters are rightfully so. She announced her retitrement, and then took everyone on a thunderous adventure out of nowhere. Very well done on her end.

I hope she does, but I am hoping she could stop the snarky, antics. Calling a chair umpire "honey" is not cute nor appropriate. If a man said, "listen honey" in public like she did , he would be cancelled on socail media. Aproaching retirment does not mean she needs to act this way towards people simply ding their job. Some of these tennis players come across as snobby and entitled. Do not forget your manners Danielle!

Alright, let’s go Collins!!! You know, announcing your retirement on such a big stage as professional tennis can be a huge mental burden. It can be easy to feel the pressure of feeling like you need to go out with a bang, like you’re somehow obligated to do it for the fans and for your own reputation and then buckling under that pressure. I’d like to think (of course, I don’t know ow since I’m not in her mind) that Collins isn’t thinking about any of that. I think that retirement did the opposite for her, it freed her from pressure. She’s seeing the finish line and no longer cares about winning or losing and “making a name for herself”, just having fun and doing her best. And maybe that’s exactly what she needed to reach this level, just to swing away and let the balls land where they will. In most of the time, in this case😂
Shot placement just on another level. Really great timing on the early swing for the shallow BH winners and the early hop off the lobs. Superb. And just scalding hot BTW. Geez.

Daniel Collins reached Australian open final two years ago so she might repeat it again at a French open. She’s on the roll and play tennis of her life.
Collins has to play final in Strasbourg at 2pm on Saturday, and then be in Paris for her RG first round match at 11am on Sunday. That's crazy. Not even 24 hours in between two matches in two cities/countries. 😐
Danielle is making a stunning exit in her final year on tour.
At this rate, she could be a strong contender at this year's US Open, and she's on course to compete in the WTA Finals as well.
