this sounds like every sega game I've ever played
right? I was gonna say final fantasy. but his sound reminds me of bit graphics
Old music was all arpeggios, scales and arpeggiated chords so yea this is the same shit
everyone comments on the guitar itself but I love the music he made with it. I've listened to it about 10 times now. it does remind me of yes like 1 person commented.
I remember i saw this on 2013, i was bored as hell and suddenly into UA-cam recomendations i saw this, and since then i just can't get enough of this video, it just feels so damn relaxing when i'm listening to it, it's just magical.
For something called a War Guitar it plays the most clean and beautiful music ever.
in hell they make you tune these
If you have ever changed the strings on an autoharp, you know that this would be easy to tune.
steven goldfinger In hell they make you tune Floyd Rose variations and make you change string gauges.
No, in hell they make you change the strings of this with a floyd rose using only your teeth
rumour has it he once snapped a string........but it didn't matter, no one noticed.....
rumour has it he went to a luthier to change the strings after the concert, the luthier is still changing strings nowadays
rumor has it when the string snapped, it stretched to the heavens and god himself returned it to the headstock and tuned it himself.....and it was good.
Rumor has that the string reached the depths of hell and Satan himself returned it
"I've been sick the whole week, and I only got to spend 45 minutes on what I hope to peform" sounds like; "me and KG wrote this song 5 minutes ago" and then play the most awesome shit ever
Every video that shows someone playing a guitar with a crazy extended range has a hundred people in the comments saying that they respect the musicianship but it sounds terrible. What the hell do you want it to sound like? This was a perfect jazzy neo-classical type piece. He accomplished what he wanted to accomplish, how could you possibly say that it sounds bad objectively?
this is great, if you get stranded at sea you can use it as a paddle
I wanted to be that one nice guy due to the lack of likes on your comment that actually made me laugh, thanks
i feel like stuff like this would really make some of the great classical composers turn and smile in their graves. this is so melodic and beautiful
This is what guitars will look like in Djent music in 2 years.
It's not gonna be gone ever and no, 8-string are the limit for most, maybe 3-4 use nine strings. Most are sticking to seven.
imagine going to guitar lessons and bring this
Man, I have been coming back and watching this again about once a year, it's still wicked.
Imagine having to realign the neck from all the string tension. There's probably at least 200-250 lbs of pressure on that coffee table.
put a floyd rose on it
Floyd Rose. Great guy, a friend of mine. I can tell you this. It would be Yuge!
I don't care what it is or what it isn't or none of that crap. You don't hear with your eyes. It sounds beautiful to me.
+digitalblasphemy1100 Well fucking said man, that's exactly what i was thinking.
Trippy as heck. And I love him for not including any distortion here. Absolutely beautiful.
sounds like some old school final fantasy shit
fuzzcentralage Kinda reminds me of Pokemon mystery dungeon for some reason
I've watched this so many times throughout my life, and it still amazes me every single time
Would you like to see it again? I do believe this comment will draw you back to the majesty of the Warr Guitar
I wonder how many truss rods that thing has.
Dojix Yea seriously man, looks like it's packing enough horizontal torque to power a Mustang through a chicane! Love the bass wurbling at about 2:00
imagn a warlord running onto the field with one of those hooked up to speakers and struming some sick electric tunes.
Mitchell Stone I was honestly thinking of mad max fury road when he pulled it out
Mitchell Stone
I can see it. The warlord would play music that would influence his victory in battle
look at that fucking meme machine
inhale the memes
exhale the memes
inject the memes
into my bloodstream
there are good memes
and there are bad memes
why has god abandoned us
Tuning this would be fun
Inevitable Truth That took me an entire day to measure and set up.
Unless you're willing to deal with bollocks like this, don't get one. They're an amazing creative tool, but holy fuck are they annoying to work with.
That neck is like... George Corpsegrinder Fisher's neck...
Dude George looks like a thumb tbh 😂😂😂😂 But eeyyy great taste in music 👌
You can dig potatoes using this guitar
You actually can with this one :)
Crankin' Up the 3-String Shovel Guitar!
ua-cam.com/video/V9-ltPsbw9g/v-deo.html
If you put Jimbo and Justin in the same room they will both disappear into infinity, like matter and doesn't-matter. I mean anti-matter.
WOW! So, I dont know what color the sky is on your home world brother. It must be beautiful! And thank you for choosing Earth. again, WOW!
but the question is...
What does Marcellus Wallace, look like?
what Corey Talor things about the djenting ability of that thing?
Holy fuck that was beautiful..
"day 38, and $1200 later, I'm 2/3 the way done restringing. so glad I don't have a tremolo on this"
All the kids is like: "Does it djent?"
+GenocidalGod I think we can safely assume no one would actually try to djent on this. But then again.. you never know. Someone could
+Robin Bergström im not a kid ... i like djent! only becouse is a trend doesnt mean only kids like it dude
Found this video over 2 years ago and I always find myself coming back to it. It's so sick.
I think Rob Scallon should get one of these
What so he can just play consistent open notes but on 30 strings?
+Flesh Coffin dude you need to see rob's actual music he has videos for. I honestly don't even know why he needs so many strings, he says so high up on the fretboard.
I just came across this guy after having stumbled upon Rob's work for the first time a few minutes ago.
+Scott Boyd Yeah, there's a chance he could actually make it sound good unlike this utter unmelodic poop.
wow, such amazing talent! those timings are hard to play with one hand, let alone two. this was just phenomenal. thanks for sharing. love prog rock
I love how introvert musicians come on stage all nervous and apologetic then completely SLAY!
Just when I thought he was gonna drop the sickest chug on that guitar... he goes all folk.
Zack Lance it has a feel of Math tapping, but reminds me more to a Tony Levin/Robert Fripp style of jamm
Must....insult this...guy...
Must...criticize....his...musical ability...for...playing...a weird instrument....
thewizard3111 I dunno what it is about unconventional guitars and basses that attracts dickheads and their dumbass critiques.
Spent over 5 years trying to find this video again. Thank god I found it, this blew my mind when I first listened.
everyone who likes this composition should go and look up the album "grow" by chon
The comments here are absolute gold. I really like this music. Very reflective. I’m glad I got an opportunity to watch and hear this.
I think, generally, these instruments are ridiculous. Overkill. But man. When you get it sounding like that- holy shit! Plus, it has a cool name
From a technical standpoint, it's impressive as hell. From a musical standpoint, it sort of just doesn't take me anywhere
RJ Macready, I thought it was good but it's not my thing.
I like good old fashion alternate pick strokes.
Folk/bluegrass/jazz
(Old Slipknot fan who went acoustic)
RJ Macready I agree, though it did take me back to old school gaming music
its a live performance in what looks like a high school music room, stress and other things involved.. this done right would sound magnificent
It has an AAL touch to it. Throw Matt on the kit behind him and I'm 1000% sure it would sound cool as shit if done :)
to all the people giving shit to him... its not meant to be just a regular guitar music is a creative outlet used by everyone although the song or style might not be your thing it does take a hell of a lot of skill to do so although the guitar looks odd and yes strings may cost a fortune this man loves the art he creats why stop him?
Its good, But Does it Djent?
It has well beyond 8-strings. That question is almost unnecessary at that point.
"Hey guys does it djent?!? hahah!!! god what a funny, original joke I've just made."
This actually reminds me of some music from the Final Fantasy series of video games.
Real question is, Does it Djent?...
Julian Gallegos oh yes, it does
the Chapman Stick and variations on it can djent
Julian Gallegos The tuning is still too high, he needs to be at least Drop L
There's something in this video that makes me come back occasionally. I'm picking some Yes vibes along with math rock from this, and both I love.
To even make an instrument this crazy sound good and use it to its full potential, you have to have a very strong understanding of theory. Unlike your average 6 string guitarists who can memorize chord shapes, there's not really much specific instruction for these super instruments.
To a point, sure...you have to be willing to embrace tapping....and paying out of the A$$ for a case haha
+Davey R Why is this super instrument? It's just two hand tapping. No matter how many strings you add the technique is the same. If people can learn to play piano or organ (where you even have keyboard for legs), they can also learn play two hand tapping on guitar. Technique exists probably for centuries .
The guitar shape is like.. Ugh never mind
CanadianBoardCrew thanks im gonna give you time 2 for christmas.
There are 2 types of people that see many stringed guitars
1.)Wow so many complex melodies could be made
2.)DJENT
I love both
Rob Scallon 2 years in the future
How are those notes so audible when just tapping?
Active pickups. probably some level of overdrive and some obvious reverb/delay. tons of little things can help. another thing is just getting better at tapping/hammering cause a bad technique reeeeallly shows when it come to that.
hammerons and pull offs not tapping u use ur right finger to tap the fret and left finger to tap the fret to tap a song
the right answear for ur question sir is compressor pedal.. thats the reason why his tapping is that audible
+Thehoboonthestreet No. Tapping is a form of hammer ons, not the other way around.
at that point why not just play the piano
Mega Regenerator The man card is 20X bigger than the piano Man Card
that's a weird dog
Can it Djent?
my god. 456 dis likes. this guy almost put me in tears. what the hell are those people thinking... this guy equals no words. amazing. plus 10
Music...the Universal Language. Thanks for posting. Amazing musician and technician.
at what point does it become an electronic harp?
when it's a harp, and not a guitar. harps have no fretboards
Luis S well then it's not a harp anymore then is it? when it gains a fretboard, it becomes a lute, and is no longer a harp. though arguably lutes don't have to have fretboards to be lutes, or maybe they're lyres. in any case, guitars are basically lutes.
+Derp Derpson When the strings run perpendicular to the soundboard rather than parallel.
But does it djent?
+Cameron Fischer wtf is with you people, wanna hear fking djent in every song?
djent and dubstep generation..... uuuh
Lets count all the "does it djent" and "sounds like Zelda" comments 🙄
Joshua Wheeler it's a newish sub genre of metal music and Zelda is a video game if you didn't know
Basically just combine a guitar, bass, harp, and you have this thing.
just give the man a piano for god sake...
+lucas “lucas88” dessimoiz Go ahead and invent a piano where you can bend or slide a key.
+Turdsplosion Using a higher end electric piano, some of them come with either a dial or a touchpad that allows you to have the same type of effect as bending or sliding on a string instrument.
+Turdsplosion only 2 comments below yours and you already got owned, just shut up dude...
+lucas “lucas88” dessimoiz lol omg pwnd!!!!111!! grats man. Now go talk to some actual musicians about how digital simulation of pitch bending vibrato and sliding isn't the same as stringed instrument. LOL OMG COUTNER ATTACKED!!!! ez mid, gg
If Prince Goro from Mortal Kombat played guitar, this would be his instrument.
this is mesmerizing
That main riff is so goddamn awesome
Great music and talent, but I suspect the designer of the instrument worked previously in dildo factory?
RumsyDumsy because you don't have nearly enough talent that it takes to play this guitar.
Kyle Hoover Why you call this a guitar? There are many more suitable instruments to call with, than guitar..
"Wuss poppin Jimbo"
does it djent?
Behold the Arctopus - Alcoholocaust (Colin Marston uses one in the band)
So yes, it can.
Yeah, dude, we get it... it's a weird instrument, and there's a thing called "djent." You can stop doing the stupid comment.
That sounded great, reminds me of video game soundtracks. IMO
They didnt even shape the tree.. they just put strings right onto the trunk.
But... can he plays smoke on the water?
Try and play Joe Satriani Surfing with the Alien solo on that thing
The music being produced by the performer with that thing is incredible.
There you go. My opinion is valid.
Sounds like something a storyteller would need.
Restringing this thing must hurt.
"I've got an idea, let's make a guitar out of this surf board."
That's some great music, it's a damn shame this guy turned out to be a monster
Was cool to see but would never want to listen to an album like this.
Bliced From a skill/talent and or tasteful point of view, I would say it isn't.
notafgt Define tasteful, skill, and talent. I am going to continue on with my life I expect your essay in the comments by the end of the week at which point I will respond with a letter grade having read the first 3 lines.
Bliced There is a search engine on the internet. It is named "Google." You could use it to define words, by typing the word in the search bar, and pressing enter!
First I thought what the absolute fuck is this monstrosity! So glad I hit play. Turns out to be amazing
Never heard of you before but blew my socks off. So nice....
"but can it Djent?"
i wonder when this djent term will fall out of popularity. so many hipsters using it these days.
Sounds of JRPG via Warr Guitar (no it is not misspelled)
0:41 - 2:27 Forrest Theme
2:28 - 2:42 Boss Encounter
2:42 - 2:47 Battle Initiation
2:47 - 3:33 Boss Fight!
Thanks
Yeah the "Forrest Theme" is mesmerizing and beautiful.
I had zelda in mind 🎼
Actually it is because makers of JRPGs and Japanese people in general are huge fans of European thematic music. They borrowed it and modified the style a little for games so that it’s more pleasant when repeating over and over. Mostly it’s from thematic classical music.
What game please ?
