The message that says port forwarding worked successfully is not always accurate in v3.4. We hope to improve the hosting process soon to make it clearer, but something likely went wrong. Make sure that Windows Firewall has been allowed access to SCCT_Versus. The GitHub readme has some additional info for hosting, you could try switching ports / manually port forwarding if UPnP is failing for some reason. No idea, we haven't had anyone with that issue. My only suggestion is to make sure your Windows sample rate isn't set to something high like 192kHz, and stick to 16/24-bit 44.1kHz/48kHz.
hey! great to know that SC is still being remembered. one question i have is: is there any way to possibly increase the player max limit? if not, is it possible from the techical side and will it be done in the nearest future?
@@thepiroman420 We had the idea of increasing the player count to 3v3, but I'm unsure how feasible it is at the moment. There are other features with higher priority right now, so I can't make any promises, but hopefully one day.
That likely means you have UPnP disabled on your router. You’ll have to login to your router, and either try enabling UPnP or port forwarding UDP 7776 and UDP 8888.
A Friend of mine whenever he plays [even in the tutorial] it puts him in spectator and doesn't let him play at all. Even on a fresh install it gives the same problem. any tips?
This normally only happens if someone has software modifying the game. The latest version is no longer compatible with many older tools which used to change the game. Is your friend a returning player or brand new?
@@PlugInJohn Try opening your SCCT_Versus.config in the System folder and change “force_max_refresh_rate" to false. If it still doesn’t work, you can try borderless mode, change “labs_borderless” to true.
@@PlugInJohn Technically yes, but it’s not great. We haven’t improved controller support from the original game, but you can map them all using steam input with a profile. There should be a few controller profiles published already on Steam. We will probably make a short guide on hosting and controller soon. My personal recommendation as of now is to use keyboard and mouse unless you absolutely have to use a controller.
There's no official controller support, but you can download some configs off the Steam Community. We'll probably make a controller setup guide in the future, but as of now I'd recommend keyboard and mouse if you can.
There is an option to have your server be unlisted from the master server, but your friend will need to directly enter your IP address. In SCCT_Versus.config, you would change this to false: "list_on_reloaded_master_server": false Then, your friend would need to open their config, and put your IP address in here: "server_list": ["100.100.100.100:7776"] Replace 100.100.100.100 with your own public IP. Great job with this tutorial! I can't wait to play this with my friends again.
thank bro :)
It's very clear and I got it working with no issue. Thank you for the guide. You're a legend.
Great stuff Josh!
Fantastic guide, I was going to make this video almost exactly the same way but now I don't have to!
Thanks for making it, good job!

When i launch the game, i only see a black screen. I can move around the menu, i hear the music, but i cant see anything. any help?
in SCCT_Versus.config set labs_borderless_fullscreen to true
can i use it with Nucleus co op
Not too familiar with using that, but the game currently doesn't allow to have 2 instances of it running without some workarounds so probably not.
does this have controller support?
You can use steam input by adding it as a steam game and then there are some profiles which make it very similar to the Xbox controller layout

Wait so you do not need hamachi or other lan program in background to join ?
Nope, there is a new master server patched into the game.

ensure 7776 and 8888 are forwarded manually if hosting without upnp
