Let me go a step further, this is one of his best interviews. Applause to the interviewers for asking introspective questions and giving the man some time to think. I feel like on American television people just fear silence and need to keep talking at all times, which forces people to say "uhm" a lot. Thank you.
If you like this interview you would like this other interview also, to be fair she’s so hot it’s almost impossible not to love this interview. This interview is a tie for first with… ua-cam.com/video/pIRqB5iqWA8/v-deo.html
someone said it's an Odd/Weird Interview. I strongly disagree. Elon said it's pretty retrospective interview and really made him think. I think it's a great interview.
Wow German questions are much different than the usual American questions which are usually just reiterations of each other. Apparently different populations and cultures have different interests. I'm glad i stumbled across this.
Agreed. I thought the questions were weird but you have a point. I'm so tired of hearing about Elon's fucking past. He's a man of the future. Let's hear his ideas.
It's funny that the interviewers were so surprised the he eats his lunch in "less than 5 minutes". They were like "Woah..." yet that is typical in America and Uk etc... do countries like Genrmany actually go out for their lunch and spend longer time eating it like a dinner course? It's mainly Sandwiches and some crisps at the desk in American culture aha.
@@antsociety6623 You should watch Michael Moore's "Where to Invade Next". Most Europeans work for living, instead of living for working. Plus, we don't consider a sandwich a meal.
Elon is such an amazing guy. He comes across as honest, straight forward, no BS, not politically correct, and really smart. I really like him, he's refreshing as a leader of a company.
This is actually a good interview. Most other interviewers ask things you can find on Wikipedia. Like who actually asks 'when did you found paypal?" and other questions like that, which have made Elon come up with stock answers to them(if you watch some of Elons interviews, you can see for yourself that he repeats the same answers for many questions he gets asked)
Very good interview for sure. You can notice that Elon enjoys the more "philosophical" questions which makes him actually think before answering. In most other interviews the questions are more basic and generic and often already answered sometime before.
I like the personal twist in the beginning of the interview. It's nice to know what Elon does like the rest of us and how he does it. No one cares about this kind of stuff, but these guys did. Makes him seem more down to earth.
I have seen Elon talk about all the usual things so many times. And so many times in the comments somebody comments about the repetition - Elon saying the same things over and over. I want to know about the man. He can whistle? Who knew! "Drive overcomes fear." Great quote. Go to minute 17:16, he recognizes it too. This was actually a great interview!
By far my favorite interview with Elon! The questions were all very personal, and gave Elon a chance to tell about himself in an authentic way. There's something to be said for the innocence of the questions - as if there's no hidden motive. Loved it.
If you like this interview you would like this other interview also, to be fair she’s so hot it’s almost impossible not to love this interview. This interview is a tie for first with… ua-cam.com/video/pIRqB5iqWA8/v-deo.html
This interview was great. I usually watch an Elon Musk interview in hopes of learning something I haven't already heard him say - but in this one you learn more about the actual guy and not what he thinks, not something he's said a hundred times already. It was like a conversation
I hugely respect him due to his humility, and patience. You know Elon gets asked many questions which are all the similar in same way or the other. But he stays calm, patient and does not get angry like many CEOs do. I love his personality!
Aside from the Tea addiction talk at the begining I rather enjoyed Seeing Elon have fun durring an interview, he got to answer questions that he does not normaly. More important it made him think, Elon loves solving problems and challenges so challenging him to reflect inward was probably very satisfying over answering why he made Tesla for the 800th time.
THANK YOU!! for ages I've been looking for a video to properly understand the life behind the genius Mr Musk!!! It's very refreshing to have an informal interview like this.
A lot of people don't like this interview, but really this is a unique one. Most others are focused on Musk's big ideas compared to this one which really humanizes him. Not saying it's better than others but it provides some different insight, which is pretty cool.
This is quite a bit different interview! And it seems quite challenging to Musk as well, since you rarely see him struggle for answers. He enjoys the challenge obviously but you can see how his mind works when they present him with a bit more technical questions and he just opens up. Damn, he is amazing ... I WANT to work for him!!
To the people complaining about the questions being asked, there are tons of interviews of Elon where most of those questions get answered already. I like that the interviewers decided to go on a somewhat different route, as someone who's interested in Elon, I enjoy hearing his answers to these lighter questions.
A nice and lovely interview..interesting and very relax to listen. I admire your intellect and compassion. An honest answers to all questions with no pretentious. Good interviewers too with respect to all questions asked.
You've got interview time with the greatest man on the planet building the future of technology every day. So you ask him about his breakfast, lunch, dinner, weight problems, exercise, etc...
People need to know that it's not easy to be a revolutionary person like Elon. Most Americans underestimate and underappriciate him because they think it's very easy for him to rise up to such great challenges because he's rich. Unlike most rich people, he became rich as a result of his non-stop hardwork.
To be honest I'm really tempted to agree with you, however there are so many interviews of him available, and often you find him repeating the same answers for the same questions, and these trivia questions actually haven't been asked before, so there are information on here that you can't find in other videos.
Frenky Merlin I think you're statements are ironic, because I think the majority believe in the fictional ladder of hard work yields success. These questions show people that his path was a lot of luck and access to resources. That's why the good schools yield successful people- not because the schools are good or the people are educated: it's simply because the schools suck resources away from your typical schools due to juggernaut wealth, and so the people that happen to go to the good schools happen to be successful because of exposure to rich resources. It has nothing to do with education or working hard. Similar is true of people who don't go to school. And the ones who work hard and had no resources were just extra lucky- exceptions and not the rule. Case closed.
Sage Mantis Yeah case closed indeed, Elon Musk would have achieved just as much success as he has today if he just sat around on the couch being rich from his mechanical engineer father's massive wealth.
***** I would rather someone tell me it straight. Ideas and strategies need critical analysis, to eliminate the kinks in them. The final product is always much better for the effort invested.
***** Have you met Elon or worked with him? I would give my right arm to get my CV infract of him. I am a qualified engineer with a background in IT Management consultancy.
Wow,that was different and may I say very enjoyable. Clearly a lot of thought went into the questions, avoiding the obligatory ones. Great interview you two. As for Elon, please watch your diet, your family needs you and so do we. Live long and prosper V :)
For some reason, I can imagine Elon in a philosophical artsy avant film. The dramatic pauses, introspective looks and deliberately chosen words. They'd be lots of strange camera angles, geometrically shaped sets, and the general chaos and mayhem of the world set as a backdrop against Elon's inner musings. Whilst drinking coffee on Mars.
Ford should really give Tesla the rights to the name - Model T. T would stand for Tesla. Also, The Model T would represent the full cycle from the first truly mass produced gasoline car to the first truly mass produced electric car. At any rate, Ford should have at least given the rights for the name - Model E - like Elon wanted. If only because he is a great hero of our age.
With a man as busy as he is he rarely has time to sit down and eat properly as he says in here its not the best thing for his health he tends to eat what he can when he can.
Nice interview. Interesting start. I think he bench presses rocket engines at spacex for his lunchtime workout sessions. Not surprised he doesn't eat well and used to ingest too much caffeine. Usual diet for high stressed positions. I like that he would choose a CEO for ability and is not interested in educational past. Nice. I think it would be someone either someone from within Tesla or from the software industry/VC background. You have to admire how much passion he has in his companies. You can see when he talks about the troubles with either company he starts to tear up as they mean so much to him. I guess the fact he put all his capital into them is another sure indicator. Not just in this interview but in other talks and shareholder vids. "Maybe they stole our dodge" - I hope someone did and you can spend the insurance on a model s.
very cool interview and refreshing view into elon's mind and personality and beliefs, etc. Great to see something different than the same routine questions.
great interview and questions! it's always interesting how great people do the everyday things like diet and exercise, or their regret and philosophy, especially when all interviews with musk is only about AI mars and model 3
I love hearing Elin musk speak. Its like listening to my eldest son. Calvin is recovered from autism and is very intelligent and a good judge of character and a great problem solver. I wise to stay calm and collective and fly into the next age with no regrets.
