So technically the company should try to keep a record of documents in order to improve their services and satisfy customers
In a perfect world this would be a true statement. A good question to ask periodically is, "Why do we have this document or record? What value is it adding?"
He lack to emphasise better on that it is a system for leadership not a system to help you do the job itself. A common mistake among most organisations and leaders. And since leaders often doesnt understand ISO 9001 them selves, they hire or pick out someone below them selves in the organisation to be responsible for implementing it. ISO confuses millions of people around the world. If a CEO does not understand ISO 9001 100% they should not implement it.

+krysieks +vescor Thank you both for your feedback. It's always a tough question to decide how much background information to provide on any topic. There are many people who hear that their company is planning on 'going ISO 9001' but don't really have much of a clue what that entails, including being totally ignorant of the ISO organization. In hindsight I should have advised people already familiar with ISO to skip forward 2 minutes.
