Ingenius. I'm going to have to do that to mine over this cold cloudy weekend. I already had to remove the primary mirror once bc they sent me a new primary holder (original production, pinched optics complaints) so here goes!
I see what you mean, good eyes. But I'm using the CarbonStar for visual work, too. So that pretty much rules out an EAF. But I believe it's soft due to the DeNoise application in post. 💫
Only way would be to remove the sling and reverse the mirror clips. So, I'm leaving good enough alone. But there are a fair amount of images out there taken with the CarbonStar without a mask for comparison. 💫
Barry is also generous about hiring local choral groups when he tours. A well trusted friend sang with him pre-Covid, in New England 😊.

A good masking technique for that primary mirror but I expect it to slow down the cooling of the mirror.
How so? 💫
Nice video looks like you might need a EAF as the scope appeared to loss focus during the night @6:55

Any chance to see a comparison?

@@DakotaStarryNights I have seen the issue with the clips. Just wondering if you had any images taken after your modification. Thanks.
