9 unarmed black men shot and killed in a nation of 330 million in 1 year in the most armed country in the world. All completely different circumstances all very specific complicated incidents. Mistaken identity, drugs involved etc etc and some of these names there is no proof of a racial motive. Killings should not happen, but look at these numbers this is not an epidemic of unlawful racially motivated police killings. This is what is called mass hysteria. There's work to be done on prison reform but to act like this is an epidemic of police racial killings is simply not true. All fulled by the internet. Wheres your outpouring for the 50 million modern slave victims a year across the world? Why aren't you wanting to say their names? Are their lives less import than 9 people some of which died many years ago? Think about the balance and truth behind what you are saying.

It's so easy to submit to hopelessness and fear. When will this endless, unnecessary heartbreak going to end? Watching innocent black person after innocent black person being murdered hurts my soul. I carry the legacy of historical atrocities in my blood. It's much easier to just shut down. But it's things like this that remind me to never give up on myself or my people. Our ancestors have been enduring the pressure for centuries but here. we. are. As a black woman, I owe my very right to vote to them.
