Even his interviews are filmed in an interesting way!! Who else would insist on being asked the first few questions while standing in front of the mirror adjusting their tie?!
Psycho was the first horror film by Hitchcock . He got tired of making big budget suspense films with glamorous stars .Amazingly , he used some of the same production crew from his 1950s tv show Alfred Hitchcock Presents
Ha ha, yeah, but its a double edged comment. He is in a way putting them down, but he is also saying their "Negatives" is what makes them good at what they do. Their ego is the thing people take away from meeting most actors, and it can be annoying. But its that same ego that makes them good at their craft when they are good at it. As only a small time short film and commercial director, I can say, if you do not keep certain actors in check, they will try and steal the film from you and do EVERYTHING their way. That is why when a director finds an actors or actress they have good working chemistry with, they usually continue to work with them.
His eyes are incredibly warm and fun. Check after 3:22 when he says “....in the dark.” If you’re scared in the hours and days after the movie, his work is done. Fantastic!
I watched him film 'Vertigo' here in San Francisco in 1957. I had no idea what-so-ever who he was but I definitely knew who Jimmy Stewart was because of his westerns (Winchester 73, The Man From Laramie etc;) I was little kid and for some reason they let me wander around the set and talk to all the people (camera and lighting men, grips, etc;) it was so much fun
Putting actors where they belong. Sensitive with big egos. When actors disagree with what their character would do and begin to try improvising, sometimes changing the scene, they become writers and directors. He's made this point many times.
Alfred Hitchcock reminds me of Whisper from Yo-Kai Watch, the ghost that follows Nathan around. I wonder if the creators made Whisper based off him on purpose?

'Have you ever been tempted to become an actor yourself?'
Hitchcock: 'Nothing so low as that'
...and all with a straight face. LEGEND
His wife once remarked ‘in forty years you never told me you loved me!’
His answer was ‘that’s why they call me the master of suspense’
King shit!
Lmao
No one does dark sarcasm like Hitchcock.
Even his interviews are filmed in an interesting way!! Who else would insist on being asked the first few questions while standing in front of the mirror adjusting their tie?!
He's truly the master. I'm sure he staged that. He did the same with the Truffaut interview he had
I love how they started the interview so cinematically
one of the best icons in hollywood History
And he wasn't even of Hollywood initially.
00:33 Drama is life with the dull bits cut out."
This man is a filmmaking genius!! His contribution to cinema is legendary 👍😁😊
Hitchcock had the most calming voice. In the days before ASMR his interviews helped me sleep
filmmaker genius. in a hitchcock film doesn't it seem that even without words you could understand what is going on due to the camera work?
I miss that classy style of people which disappeared from the world now.
Ikr.
As he would say to the people on set ‘don’t give away the ending...it’s the only one we have.’
Hitchcock you such a fucking legend and I fucking love alfred hitchcock
Mr. Hitchcock I only wish you knew how much you did and meant to us!!! RIP my original idol.

73 questions vogue - Alfred Hitchcock
Psycho became a legacy that even had a series called Bates Motel
Janet Leigh said after she saw the film in its entirety- she never showered again- only took baths
I wonder if any of the actors in Jaws never swam in the ocean again after being casted into the film. I know I wouldn't have if I had been in Jaws.
+03bgood I personally never found Jaws scary. That sharks looks so fake...
Marty McFly was right.
+Crash & Burn
No one saw the film at all until it was premièred.
@@765sanjay “sharks look so fake” no shit

He was incarcerated when he was four?!
His father asked a policeman to keep him in a cell for a night after he had been naughty.
My dude just shat on actors about 17 times
He told Tom Snyder the same thing in the early 70s. He does not like policemen.

My question would be Mr Hitchcock why do you wear your your pants under your armpits
You're obviously very intelligent, not someone to turn basic observations into an excuse to mock.
The irony of my own comment is noted 👍
