This is my reaction to Beautiful Places to Visit in Sweden
In this video I react to some stunning places in Sweden
#sweden #travel #reaction
Original Video - • Top 10 Beautiful Place...
Very strange list in my opinion as a Swede ;). This is a list of cities mostly, not so much most beautiful places really. I will come back with a list with beautiful places I like in Sweden ;)
It is 1170 km between Uppsala and Kiruna full of beautiful places that wasn't on the list. It's a shame people always forget the north of Sweden.
I live in a small village (Flyn), outside a small village (Hoting), northen Sweden. Sometimes I wake up to my alarm, because reindeer are walking on the property. Sometimes birds nibble on the window because I forgot to feed them. Sometimes a fox comes into the house to ask for food! Sometimes a hare sits outside my shop and wonders what I'm doing. I love my Sweden.
One place to visit, if history is interesting, is Visingsö, a big island in the lake Vättern, our second largest lake. Visingsö was the place were kings lived in the middle ages here, before Stockholm became the capital. There are remnants of buildings from the 1100 to 1300 on that island.
You should also visit Läckö slott, built in the 12 hundreds, on the chore of Vänern, the biggest lake in EU. Looking out over the water of Vänern, it is like looking out to sea, it is water all the way to the horizon
The High Coast and its archipelago are worth a visit. Here we have the highest land elevation in the world.
This list is a bit too oriented against cities in my opinion. The most beautiful places of Sweden is not their largest cities...
The version they showed of Gothenburg was a bit funny to see, because most scenery there wasn't Gothenburg at all... it was more of a general west coast oddysey;
Tjörn, Kungälv and even as far south as Varberg.
Sweden has beautiful nature and we have something we are proud of the right of access. This means that every person can walk what they want in any forest but not on private plots small around houses but otherwise you can go out into the forest and nature as you like with care not to litter
Karlskrona in Blekinge is wonderful and is on the world heritage list. Blekinge also have an archipelago, long coastline, agricultural plains and woodland. And all on a small surface.
Visby is absolutely magical to stroll around, I’ve returned 15 times. Everything is super old and the cathedral ruins are magical. If you go here during week 32 (August) the old monastery turns into a medieval bar with their own beer, there are artist performances inside the ruins and medieval raves with more than 20 000 dressed people. 🏰
Sweden has the most islands in the entire world. While Finland has the most lakes in the world
Yes, over 260.000 of them
Sweden has way more lakes than Finland. Finland don't even qualify for top 10 in the world. Sweden is #5.
I think Canada is no1 on lakes actually
Nope, Sweden got more lakes.
But it is still very close.
One of the "slides" for Uppsala was of a complete other town called Vaxholm which could probably fit in a list of this on it's own 3:55-3:59
They forgot Karlskrona in the south of Sweden. A beautiful small city built on small islands.
I´m raised on the southern part of Öland. Always worth a visit 😍
I have been many times in Sweden as I live close to the border, I have visited so many beautiful places, but I never seen the bigger city in that category (most beautiful places...), it has to be that I'm a more smalltown lover and nature lover 🙂
I currently live in Malmö, the best part IMO is that there are so many things one can do for free.
In my neighborhood, there is a place to do woodworking, a place where you can learn how to weave with a loom, a music studio, a place for aspiring artists to put up their easels, a ceramics workshop, a group of people doing organic gardening, many activities for kids...
And it's safe (and this goes for all of the country), you'll find beggars outside of stores, but nobody sleeps on the sidewalks, you can usually leave your home unlocked, the risk of getting robbed or sexually assaulted is minimal.
I'm not that fond of these vids that portray the cities as best to visit, for me as a Swede, the nature is where it's at. Gotska Sandön, Sarek, Tyresta, Höga kusten, etc.
Yes, Sweden is soooooo much more than cities. Lakes and creaks all over the country. Mountains wally waste landscape and pristine nature
This is my list: Stockholm city and the archipelago, Göteborg, Visby - all in summertime :)
Well, have just come home from an evening walk with the dog in Marstrand. Crowded in summer but quiet during winter, always beautiful 🩷
And, before leaving Gothenburg after educating the staff in a local seafood counter about how to care for oysters in a safe manner, I would recommend my little town for dining 🤗
Uppsala, and no mention of Uppsala Högar ... 🤔
Uppsala is the cultural mecca of Sweden? 🤣No it's a university city with a big church. It really is OLD though, as Uppsala was the old capital, the city renamed in the 1200's. There used to be some site for midvinterblot, ancient Norse rituals of sacrifice. So there've been a settlement there like a millennium and a half, or more. The university is from the 1400's and there is a connection there to Carolus Linnaeus.
Bisby is the most beutiful medeival city, with a ring wall (?) around.
I live in Sweden, but I have only visited a few of the places in the video. I have been to Stockholm, Gothenburg, ( or Göteborg, as we say ), and Uppsala. The closest of Sweden´s larger cities to where I live is Örebro.
As someone from a little village i think Malmö is probaly the most openminded place in sweden
@08:19 and 09:00 Is from Varberg. 80km south of Gothenburg.
Stockholm is the capitol of Sweden NOT Scandinavia.
He just meant it's the largest capital of Scandinavia...
As a citizen of Gothenburg, I completely agree that Scandinavia as the capital of Gothenburg I'm just kidding
@@Tim_Nilsson He probably meant Stockholm's embarrassing slogan "The Capital of Scandinavia".
As a Swede I find Swedish cities rather underwhelming in comparison to the fantastic cities found all over europe. Quaint, relatively clean and friendly, sure, but not that interesting.
The beauty of Sweden is found in the nature of the country. There is loads of scenery and accessible nature everywhere. The southern third of Sweden is relatively densely populated (for Sweden, not for the rest of Europe). There is however still a lot of scenic nature. The upper two thirds of Sweden is more wild excep in close proximity to the (few) cities. Hiking and fishing is a great way to spend time in Sweden.
best Seafood a definitely Gothenburg and the whole west coast up where you can get fresh fish It is beyond counting are delicious because of your mineral rich water in the sea Lobster is delicacy if you are in Sweden sometime Are you going to eat a lot of seafood you will love it and fish
Smögen schrimps are the best if you go buy it from a Fischer early in The morning.
@@mr.sts.p exactly buy a whole box that's life It's the best it's the tastiest freshly cooked only we can get those in Gothenburg, Stockholmers can eat old prawns
I agree with many comments that the cities not are the most beautiful places in Sweden. The cities archipelago’s, yes and for sure a lot to do and explore. One very Swedish area in Sweden is Dalarna and its small cities around lake Siljan. I also noticed that the video messed up not showing Gothenburg but random west coast areas.
The farmland and wide open plains of Västergötland. Nothing beats that. Then you have the coastal cliffs of Bohuslän, north of Gothenburg, that's also pretty nice.
The nature is what's beautiful, I know it's been repeated in the commentary field but the cities aren't impressive. Stockholm is beautiful in the summer because of its many islands, and how you can get around the town with a regular bus pass (including ferries).
And some of Stockholm is downright hideous. I mean, most of Norrmalm is just depressing, and considering that's the neighborhood where the central train station is situated, it's also the first a lot of people see of the city once they exist (the rather beautiful) station building.
When I am in Malmö I go to Österlen, sometimes over to Köpenhamn
Me and my husband got married on Borgholm castle on the island Öland. It's a beautiful place
Visby...you need a week in that town. You need to get down and nitty and gritty. The perfect place to spend a month of investigating and a few thousand punds...
Thats my neighbourhood! 😂 i would visit gotland (visby) its really beautifull, but in the summer. Windy and wet at winter and very empty. And a lot of the restaurants close when its not high season. I used to live there for a couple of years and the medieval feeling is very nice. They still have most of the citywall intact from that time, and lots of guided tours. The caves is a complete must! The park is almedalen. Its is a special place for a political week full of speaches from politicians but also from different organisations. It is also a lovely park by the water. I would visit the beaches but not just Tofta beach, its very crowded and noisy. I would also go high north in sweden but never been myself.
I am however from Malmö and the pubscene here is awsome. Everything is close together in city center so you can go barhopping without traveling inbetween. Since its very multicultural you can get any type of food. Malmö is a formal industrial city and some of that you can still see but most is getting replaced by modern high buildings. I would check out the parks that also is close to city center. I would also go to the museum if your a history fan (that is the building you asked what that was, its malmo castle and a museum) or the modern museum if your an art fan or maybe a consert at malmo arena. I would also get out of malmo and drive along the coastline. Or take the train to copenhagen for the day. I wouldnt bother with ystad if you are not going even further east. You walk through it in ten minutes.
i would never set my foot in Malmö
Mostly poor immigrants in Malmo nowadays.
@@petter5721 35% of population currently born outside of Sweden. It's a lot but hardly "mostly". And why would you add "poor" to this? You have a problem with poor people? Perhaps we should keep them in jail like the old days? Nazze.
Why not? Scania does have a horrible dialect, but it's very nice down there. You should try it.
@@nisselarson3227 getting robbed or shot going there
@@chrillemoskajarvi3388? Vad svamlar du om? Har du satt din fot i Stockholm? Dumhuvud.
Lived in Visby for close to a year, its nice in the summer pretty dead over the winter even as a student at the university
And basicly spent half my summers in Stockholms skärgård arcipeligoge
Idk how to spell that
Thanks for making sure there are generated subtitles, you have somewhat of an accent if you hadn't noticed.
If you had trouble with that one, do you have difficulty with Swedish accents like Gutish, Dalecarlean and Lappish?
Ha, I saw my home 😊
Skånes country side is beautiful, here you only see a city.
02:00 Malmö FF is as good of a reason as any! 👍
09:00 Lappland is serene, warm, and cold. If you are looking for actual winter inside the Arctic circle - Aurora Borealis, Ice hotel, beautiful nature -, this is the place!
Strictly speaking skiing and resorts, you may look South/Southwest (about halfway down the country) to Idre, Åre, and Sälen to mention some of the major facilities and sites..!
we built a bridge to the danish
03:56 Vaxholm, not Uppsala
Åre is the best place to ski in Sweden.
Stockholm is great in many ways, but the people are stressed, rude and confused.
I prefer Åtvidaberg where i lives.
How the heck did Malmö make it on the list? 😂
Strangest list of all time.
I find it Strange that Stockholm made it to no 1.
I live in Malmö. The best city in Sweden 👌🏻👍🏻
Just cities and towns, and all but 1 are in the south!? Lame, but so typical.
Odd list either way. I was expecting more of random beautiful places and not actual towns/cities. Like in Stockholm I would say it's Gamla stan/Old town that is nice and not the entire city. And we have so many national parks and hiking trails like Kungsleden/King's trail that are stunning.
Your accent atleast is an easy Scottish one. I heard some accents thats far harder to understand.
Why only citys sweden have more butyfull nature alls thse videos only shows our citys and nevwr shows northen sweden like arvidsjaur that a butiful nature
They forgot to mention Liseberg in Gothenburg which is the largest amusement park in Sweden
too bad so many are ashamed of our viking heritage.
Eh, sorry, that video didn't really do a good job :( Some places are absolutely worth going to and see, but the video didn't even show it.
This is actually not a very good video when it comes to real facts. I must say it´s rather annoying that when they say in this video that they are showing Gothenburg, they are actually showing the lovely small town of Varberg south of Gothenburg with it´s fantastic medieval castle and fortress, and in another clipp it´s the city of Kungälv.
What this channel should have done is to make one list on places and one on citys, this mix are just bad. Can agree on places and some of the citys, but no, this list is not doing Swedens beautiful places justice.
While the effort to highlight the beauty of Sweden is appreciated, I must express my disappointment with the execution of this video. The content falls significantly short of expectations.
It's quite clear that only about 20-30% of the locations showcased are truly deserving of their spot on the list of Sweden's most beautiful places. The criteria for selection are perplexing, leaving one to wonder on what basis most of these places were chosen.
The video seems to attempt covering vast areas with inadequate visual representation, often missing the essence of what makes these locations truly captivating. The use of subpar video footage, in my opinion, fails to do justice to the breathtaking scenery that Sweden has to offer, thereby diminishing the overall impact of the presentation.
Drawing a comparison, it's akin to suggesting that the best places to visit in England are limited to cities like London, Liverpool, and Blackpool, without acknowledging the rich diversity and beauty of the country or presenting what specific places to see in those areas. Surely, the creators could have aspired to curate a more representative and compelling list that truly showcases the splendor of Sweden.
I really would have expected a more thoughtful selection and portrayal of sites, ensuring that the visual content aligns with the extraordinary allure that these locations inherently possess. This turned out to be just a collection of rather poor images with a selection and presentation that made me wonder if the creator has even been to Sweden.
Except Visby not one of my favorite places or places I find interesting to visit was on this list. To make a list of Swedens most beautiful places and list NINE towns or cities is ridiculous. Swedens most beautiful places are far away from cluster of buildings.
The people who make these videos seem scammy and not knowing what they’re talking about. They googled Sweden and just repeated some jargon. Completely wrong pronounciation. I swear they have never visited and it’s an AI.
The pronunciation of the places was beyond criticism. Awful!
Gothenburg should totally not be near the top of this list lol.
"less pretentious" sounds like an excuse.
Should be near Malmö.
Visby should take the place of Gothenburg.
Also, Kiruna is ugly.
There are a lot of places far more beautiful in the northern parts of Sweden.
It is the ugliest town in the Lapland.
