@@errydeo8865 Not really. So many fighters make excuses about injuries or not enough or too much training or not enough time to prepare. Then they Blame the trainers etc.
I'll always back Joe in everything he does. To me, he epitomizes the true spirit of British boxing - not just as a fighter, but also through his unwavering modesty. No fancy frills, just an extraordinary person! He fought and lost a fight, while others boast of being unbeaten but lack the resources to hold anything of genuine value. Pay attention to what Joe says. The way he used the word "experience" is so charming.
So true. I think it's a shame that some fighters make the argument of fighters being irrelevant after a loss, as a means to avoid fighting certain people themselves. It's nice that Joe has that old-school spirit that it's just a loss and he will continue fighting. I think if more fighters were like this, boxing would have a larger following as there would be more exciting fights.
Amen.
You can't train a heart like Joe's-but you can evidently see that he was raised by special, considerate, heartwarming people.
He needs to revert back to what he once did as a boxer all these fancy new tricks like his arm positioning and guard he's tried in the zhang fights haven't been effective one bit.
@@paulpaluciano6162absolutely and be that as it may, I think boxing is not for him especially at his age. I’m his age and I love this guy but it’s enough punishment. He is phenomenal as a person but slow as hell as a boxer . He’ll take unnecessary punishment going forward
He’s boring in interviews, dreadfully slow in the ring? Are we looking at the same man
People saying punch resistance had gone. No Zhang hits like a tank and stylistically it was easy for him. Zhang is a high level dangerous operator who deserves all the credit. Worst thing in boxing is to rely on your chin once it has been cracked it will be easier going forward.
No - the chin IS gone; in all fairness that exact same Zhang right hand would just have bounced off the chins of David Tua, Ray Mercer, Ike Ibeabuchi, Oliver McCall etc.
I hate to say it as I really like Joyce but without his chin he really has nothing left. He should hang up his gloves & call it a day before he gets hurt. At least he can hold his head up high & say he never cherry picked like so many of them do these days. Good luck to Joe Joyce.
Everybody’s punch resistance goes at some point….and Joyce has been a walking punch bag for his entire career…if you are relying on having a good chin then your asking for trouble….how about trying to avoid getting hit on the chin
@@thecarpetman7687 Joyce is far too stiff, slow & robotic to avoid getting hit. Him getting older is not going to improve this situation.

Genuinely gutted for Joe. I was there for his fight against Parker, and I thought from there he would go on to achieve big things. Gave it his all, but Zhang had his number. I hope to see him win again soon!
Zhang is so tricky to deal with. He seems to have a lazy, very energy saving style yet fast straight punches that get through the defenses. I would love to see him with either Fury or Usyk.
That was one hell of a shot he took from Zhang and still got up for 10, right decision to end the fight though. It's just a shame it would have been interesting to see how the fight would have gone in the later rounds.
God bless Big Joe and his family! He will be back, Zhang style was just wrong for him. Hold your head up Joe all the greats have lost at some point!
He got destroyed 😂
Never looked in the fight. From the moment he made his ring walk he was beaten. He was going through the motions, holding back his punches and wouldn’t fully commit. Lack of energy and confidence didn’t exist. Time to walk away while you have your health

What a fantastic human being Joe Joyce is. breath of fresh air in boxing. Hopefully he can come back again
Fair play for getting straight back in, but you can't win at the elite level by walking forward and taking shots.
You can't win by standing off too much either.
Zhang is not elite level - he just had Joyce's number, that's all. But that said; in all fairness Joyce is not elite level either. He seems like a decent bloke, though.
@@rosiemason-rk4cm I don't know he's a decent boxer Zhang, Might have peaked a little to late in his career though.
From what I heard from Zhang in his interviews, he hasn't had the money in the past to have the staff to help him reach his potential..
He definitely Deserves a shot at the big boys..
@edntz Joshua Does That too, Goes into Fights at a record weight and doesn't lean on his opponents and use his weight to his advantage, then tries to box from a distance
I swear I could be a boxing trainer and I'm not even that close to boxing in my day to day.
The amount of clean punches Joyce got hit with before his two fights with Zhang couldnt last indefinitely before somehow came along and stopped him. Its just not a smart strategy to use in a fight. Joyce options, which were at the brink of a title fight before his two consecutive stoppage losses, have apparently really taken a big hit too.

Good man… no excuses, gave props to his opponent, that’s a real man and a true sportsman… good on ya Joe, many fighters should take a leaf out of your book when it comes to handling a defeat, what a humble gent 👏
Joyce is 38 and has two losses. Zhang is 40 and also has a loss and a draw in the past two years. There's no reason why Joe can't fight four times in the next 2 years, win four times, and be right back at No. 1 contender (if that's what he wants to do). Respect to him. I hope he enjoys his time off, well deserved.
Indeed Joe will make all other heavyweights struggle...as indeed will Zhang.
it's true Zhang has a loss on his record, but if you watch the fight that's marked as a loss on his record you might think, as I do, that that's a loss he doesn't really deserve...I felt like Zhang won that fight, and I'm not the only one with that opinion
@@LarryPerkins78 boxing in general has a problem with fighters losing their perfect record. It's what makes boxing an inferior sport to MMA, because every boxer hides behind a promoter and refuses to take the big fights all the fans want to see out of fear of losing that "0".

It is an all the eggs in one basket mentality. The careers of Dubois and Joyce have been handled appallingly.
The fight between them was a terrible idea and it didn't particularly springboard Joyce who should have had bigger fights after the Dubois win considering his age. Ultimately not good enough it seems but they have not maximised him

Big Bang has used that punch since the amateurs throw it with bad intentions.
Saw him trying to move his head more. But sometimes takes years to get that natural. Too slow if you're having to think what to do before you do it. Good win for zhang.
The comentator was making fun of his slow head movement

Amazing to see how hypocritical and paradoxical British fans can be from reading the comments here. Where's this energy when other British HW's have lost, and far less convincingly? Joe's a nice lad and he'll come again, but he was never going to be top level when his only strength was the ability to absorb shots and come forward. He got dismantled in 6 rounds in the first fight and he got annihilated last night. Zhang looked like a young prospect in their first fight smoking out a journeyman.
