Results are irrelevant but when you see the same players from last season making the same mistakes in the same areas of the pitch, such as defence and central midfield.
The defenders, Casemiro and the same old forwards missing mistakes.
How many times last season did we dominate the first 20 min and then drop off a cliff and concede goals because the defence couldn’t press and Casemiro got walked by?
Let’s not kid ourselves - this squad is technically weaker than last seasons squad. Also, we’ve not shifted anyone yet bar out of contract players. So whilst some patterns in the forward areas have impressed me on tour, the midfield and defensive issues persist.
We didn't play bad for a players who should be sold
We are not getting injuries because of the fitness department. The reason we get injuries is because of how we are playing. City does not play like we do. The pace at which we run up and down the pitch is insanity. We try to press high and get the ball back quickly and score as quickly as possible. We lose the ball and then need to sprint back because we do not hold our shape and because of the type of defenders we have at our disposal. Then if we win the ball back we force it baack up the pitch trying to score as quickly as we can on the counter. There is no holding onto pocession to give the team time to breathe. All the top teams keep pocession until they can make a chance for themselves. There is purpose to their play where as with us we try to do things at such pace that we do not get time to think. Also we get gassed from doing sprints up and down the pitch every play, causing us to misplace passes and pick up injuries.
Ten hag needs to change that about his game plan. Our press was good in the first half but everytime we win the ball back we try this counter attack bs instead of recycling pocession and taking our time to put the ball in the back of the net
We weren't playing with this intensity last season and our team press was rubbish and ineffective last season so not sure what you're saying 😅
@@Cee_H We were playing with this intensity ever since Ten hag has come into the team. We have just done it poorly and there has not always been 100% participation from thr players. This pre-season is the best attempt we have seen to play Ten Hag football. We still have a long way to go before the football we play matches the ideal way Ten Hag envisions. We must work on the team shape, patience and possession football and attack with purpose instead of just intensity and eagerness. Not all attacks should look like we have a minute left in extra time and we are trying to eqaulize to stay in a cup competition.

AWB puts a great ball in. No one wants to shoot.
If he does something bad, talk about it but if he does something good, roll right over it. Amass was 5/10 today. Okay going forward but has no clue where his mark is. He's a talent but certainly not ready. Even Doak gave him a hard time.
I hope to not see Lindelof in the first team next season, McT should score and increase his value to go. Had 2 good chances but he's in the space.
Owen lets not do Copium and lets be critical, there is no such things as friensly against critical and our defensive line was bad.

@@dav147and we had Colliyer Amass Lindelof Sancho Mount Amad who did not play at all/ play enough for us last season. Apart from Van Dijk the rest you named aren't that much better than what they had the players they had are well established I'm sure I've seen Tsimikas Elliot Jones Jota Konate play enough and in big matches for Liverpool. 17 shots in the box we didn't have a proper CF to bag them.

@@dav147 ok what does paying them have anything to do with how long they played for us? It wasn't Ten Hag who bought Sancho. Mentioned a player I never mentioned in my comment and you missed out on Amad who just got into the first squad and Amass and Colliyer.
Let’s be real Liverpool play counter attacking football and beat us like we did in ten hag first season. But it will be glorified this season because it ain’t manunited I promise you. I genuinely believe we will play better football than them this season. They have better players/ squad.

I watched all the pre-season games and these guys are simply not good enough. Rashford, Mount, Sancho, Mctomany, AWB, Casimero, Anthony, Evans, and more... All need to go. Yes, it's only pre-season but there is no style of play. The team is just not progressing, it's the same dead horse we have been beating for the past few years.

The same old united .. old shit defenders and midfielders.. we don’t have any midfielder that can control the ball .. they lose the ball easily under pressure.. all uniteds problem is this two departments.. (mount, Erikson,Casamero , Evans, maguire, lindelof Mactominay and WBS) United can’t compete for top 3 with those players even as a back up players ..

Look folks you’re just going to have to come to terms with the fact this is how it’s going to be under ETH. I don’t think he’s being helped by the board in the slightest but they weren’t to blame for last 2 seasons. ETH prioritised Mason Mount, Anthony and Onana, almost £200m, and they’re absolute poo, being polite about it. I think ETH will be gone by game 8, he’s all over the place tactically still and it’s season 3, he doesn’t know his starting 11 even with everyone fit and available but my biggest worry is we can’t seem to hold our shape when not in possession and 1 pass and you’re getting a shot off at Onana who imo is one of the worst goalkeepers I’ve ever seen at Utd.
There are no positives. Same crap, different owners. If we don't make at least another 3 signings then we'll be fighting for 6th again and Ten Hag will be gone by Christmas.
