Tip I forgot to mention! Put loctite on the locking screw for the blade and also on the screw holding in the pommel as you assemble them so they don’t work themselves loose over time.

Good stuff. I’ve recently been researching screwdrivers as a gift for myself on hitting 11 years as a tech. Currently running a shop. Started with a set of Wihas as a gift from my in-laws, but I’ve slowly acquired 5 Kraus drivers, a ferees driver, and a gold grip. I’m a big fan of all of them. I would say for hand feel the JL smith gets very close and I prefer their blades, but the ferrees handles knurling is just something else. Very grippy. Slightly larger than my kraus driver but the ability to switch blades makes everything better

Have you ever considered doing videos of a particular restoration all the way through? The channel Baumgartner Restoration does something like that for art restoration. Even a wordless video with music would be cool.
Just an idea! I like the topical videos as well.

I definitely have! The problem is I don’t know how to edit, I use my phone to make these videos, and a full restoration takes me 40 hours or so.

@@StohrerMusic outside of the time it would take to render and upload such a file, I would think it would be best to just leave a single POV take as is. The people, who would be watching such a video, don't care about flash. We're looking at substance. The biggest issues would revolve around battery life, and how long the camera would let you record before having to start a new video file, or switching over to a new SD card for further recording. I'd personally recommend a small go-pro, or something that would allow you to wear it as you work, but has enough inherent resolution for everyone to see what you're doing. From there, it's just paying attention to make sure that the camera is capturing you as you work, and putting the files in order in a simple video editor. Oh, and that rendering and uploading thing. 40 hours of video would be one heck of a project to work on.
The other option would be to hire some student film crew who would work for nothing, or next to nothing, in order to obtain some class credits. You may get some interesting documentary like film by going that root. In this case though, I think that a standard POV shot would work best, as anyone with a film background may take vital info out for their own sense of pacing. Would be fascinating to watch one way or the other.

@@StohrerMusic yes, strap a gopro to your head and record the whole thing, maybe keep your camera to the side for a different angle/closeup shots. the only edits would involve cutting clips which would be very easy to learn. I would love to watch these!
